I'd think that it's more likely to be spiritual pride that will divide.

Can Christians smoke weed? No, and yes smoking pot is indeed a sin. These new generation of professing Christians does not care for God’s Word. They will make so many different excuses and twist words to justify sin.
This world is cannabis crazy. Medical marijuana is a complete joke. Weed is a gateway drug that is making many people broke. Even though people try to deny it, weed is addicting and many people have to go to rehab for it.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Oh, no...I vape and have a script of nabilone.
I guess that makes me a sinner!
Jesus, help...oh yeah, that's right.
Thank You, Jesus! :)

It is legal to use and grow for personal use nation-wide.
I'm not happy about it, but our Prime Minister promised to legalize it if he was elected.
He kept his word...now he's a socialist lock-down tyrant.
I pray for him sometimes.

Canada marijuana laws in Alberta state that a person who is 18 years and older can legally purchase marijuana for recreational use. Under Alberta marijuana law the legal limit for public possession is 30 grams of dried marijuana flower. In Alberta, a person can only legally purchase cannabis from either online or at privately licensed stores. Finally, cultivating marijuana is legal in Alberta! The cultivation limit is 4 marijuana plants per household.

All Canadians wanting to purchase marijuana must pay the applicable tax fees. The GST/HST tax will vary from province to province. For example, Alberta has the highest excise tax in the country! Adults can expect to pay a 46.8% tax on vape products. However, as a general rule of thumb most provincial tax for cannabis can range anywhere from 5% to 15%.

What if a follower of Christ has chronic pain and knows they have a weakness for opioids?
Can, or should, a new believer, a recovering Fentanyl addict, use cannabis while they recover?
I maintain that the best drug is no drug, since they all have side effects.
Then there is addictive behavior.
Marijuana causes paranoia.

Marijuana causes paranoia.
It is my understanding that marijuana can trigger a latent psychosis or exacerbate an existing one.
All drugs have potential side-effects.
The benefits need to be weighed against the risks.
Medicine is an inexact science, according to my doctor, who is also a physicist.

I would think that most have heard....the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
But I also think that it is more frequent...that the road to hell is paved with justifications.
So I think it would be interesting to know how Christians justify, using drugs?
In Christianity it is not just about being stoned, it also falls under the category of covet.
It is a religious teaching and a philosophical teaching to be careful about what you want and the intensity of your want.
Want...Covertness.
What will a drug user do to get drugs? A lot of that leads to other sins. At what point does the drug become a god to them?
So lets hear it? How do Christians justify using drugs?

If I have to use a substance, under the care of a physician, for a valid medical use, and it is not causing me problems, then there is no problem.
If, however, I'm using it to deal with unpleasant emotions, then I've stepped into the realm of addictive behavior.

Lungs are not meant to inhale smoke. Gods herbs have a purpose. Cannabis can be used for debilitating pain in place of opiates. You can eat the oils from the plant. It is not an analgesic pain killer like opioids but it does help someone just deal with the pain by lifting mood and relaxing muscles.

Have you ever been in so much pain that you consider suicide? Some people have pain like that daily that’s unbelievable hard to deal with.

How does someone deal with pain like that? Some use the opioid pain pills the doctors prescribe. I know people that went that route and ended up being heroin addicts.

I think this is something this person needs to pray about. I would hate to make a brother stumble by saying it is ok. What is ok for one person may be a sin for another. If this person is in the kind of pain I’m thinking about I wouldn’t judge them for it. They may have a blessing from Jesus to use the herb. You never know. Jesus is kind and knew there would be unbelievable suffering in this world. I think he made this herb for cancer patients and people who have to deal with horrible pain.

I look at it like a powerful medicine not be be abused.

I agree...to a degree. How does that sound.
Medical uses of drugs that can get you stoned or cause paranoia, can be an issue if they cannot guarantee that you will not drive.
Drug users following the prescribed dosage? Some of these drugs have legitimate uses, but should only be taken in the hospital.

So much to this story. I do not trust doctors for many reasons...their methodology is flawed.
Pain clinics use to be no more than drug dens....The new epidemic around here was the elderly becoming addicted to the pain medications that were prescribed to them. They have shut most of that down.

So many drugs out there that the doctors prescribe without explaining the side effects. They may prescribe marijuana to someone that does not realize what it is all about. And there are a lot of drugs that may have phycological effects. I had a doctor prescribe a antibiotic to me called Levaquin. Shortly after taking the medication, I noticed things moving that should not be moving! LOL

So I went back to him and asked him about it. He thought it was funny and told me that he had prescribed the antibiotic to a guy and he went outside in the summer and saw his lawn full of snow and moles popping up and down out their holes like that game Whac-a-mole. So I told him that I could take him out in seconds and it probably would not go good for him for me to hallucinate that he was a monster. He did not find that as funny as I thought it was.

Drugs are serious business, there's no doubt about that! Good post!
