Welcome to this thread,

The topic is, Should Revelation Even Be In The Bible?

Please comment sharing your thoughts about simply the book of revelation. Is it important to know it, see it, search it out, mediate and consider all that John shared about the Revelation of Jesus?

Hi Matthew,
Yes, I for one do think we should definitely study Revelations, how else can we warn others about things to come? I think all the books are a must read and learn, and with Revelations, we are promised a special blessing if we read and keep the sayings. Yeah, super important!

Should Revelation Even Be In The Bible?.....Yes Sir, shaken together, pressed down and overflowing......but who can hear it??

A drowning man/woman who insists on fighting with his/her rescuer does so to his/her own hurt!

Yes, it’s a book of hope, victory and of The Lords knowledge of the affairs in the world. It should remind us of who is really in control and ultimately who has the answers, and ultimately who wins xxx

Some people believe the book should have been taken out, one guys name was Martin Luther. Some people are afraid of revelation and find it mind boggling and terrifying.

Curious, on what grounds did they not want it included ?

Rita,

Just didn’t think it fit Martin Lurthers criteria. He desired other books to place in his own Bible. You can check history about it, and you may find something.

Martin Luther was mistaken on many counts. So while he is a leading figure of the Reformation, he was still a fallible human being with several blind spots. Which goes to show that we must not elevate any man to the degree that he is regarded as infallible.

Luther didn't want Revelation included on the grounds that he knew that it condemned his own religious movement and that it was too difficult for him to understand. Instead of investigating why he failed to understand the book, he projected his failure onto the book by saying it wasn't as authoritative as the gospel accounts.

The incredible irony of Martin taking such a stance is that Revelation is easy to understand since Jesus' Olivet Prophecy and Daniel supplies the keys to understanding what is written in Revelation. And instead of using the keys Jesus gave, Martin decided to interpret Revelation using his own intellect.

Another superb piece of irony in Martin's pursuit of devaluing Revelation is that this book teaches that true Christians will understand bible prophecy. The fact that Martin couldn't wrap his head around even the simplest symbols in Revelation is the biggest piece of proof that the Reformation only gave birth to another fraudulent religion.

The question is, is there any organisation that doesn't have fraudulent elements?

Martin Luther did not reject Revelation at all. But when he first translated and published the New Testament, he thought that Revelation should not have the same status or authority as the gospels or the letters of Paul or Peter, so he put it at the end. Revelation was, to his mind, so far (which shouldn't be taken as "different," in the sense of contradictiveness) from Paul’s gospel that he put it as the very last scroll in the New Testament, which it was anyway, in the approved Canon and chronologically in its writing by John, and in literary genre (apocalyptic).

Grace and peace to all.

I don't see why Revelation shouldn't be in the Bible. It seems to me prophesy in the book comes true in all of our lives.
