Over in the thread about right to have guns, I thought about the Federal Lands clause in the Constitution.
The Congress purchases land from a State for mostly military reasons. I suppose energy like drilling for oil could fall under the National security reasons.

I'm no constitutional lawyer. I got a 6th grade edumacation. But it seems to me that AGRICULTURE and FOOD SUPPLY could supercede whatever the Government has plans for it. Like building abortion facilities in states where there are none or few, and now would have to fall under the law of the state for abortion access.
The Federal Government stopped giving out drilling contracts for oil on these federally owned lands. Does the State have more authority over it's own territory than the Federal Government?
Could the State purchase the land back?
Could the State evict the Federal Government for it's own purposes?

How do we take America Back?
We take our land back from the Federal government and give it to the people in their states.

And yet what they are proposing to do now is to build abortion facilities on the Federal lands in states that only have minimum facilities available.
However, the State is the one with the authority over it's own land to authorize the use of these Federal lands.

Despite demands from several prominent Democrats, the federal government is prohibited from using taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.
The Hyde Amendment, first included in federal appropriations bills in 1976, prohibits the federal government from funding abortions unless “the life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term or where the pregnancy is the result of an act of rape or incest.” Activists estimate that the Hyde Amendment prevents at least 60,000 abortions every year.

The amendment is named for Republican Illinois Rep. Henry Hyde, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee who championed it.

Although support for the amendment was initially bipartisan, Democrats in recent years have attempted to pass federal budgets that do not include the provision. President Joe Biden flip-flopped on support for the amendment during his 2020 presidential campaign, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi attempted to jettison the provision for an early COVID-19 relief package. Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin’s demand that the Hyde Amendment be included in a social spending package was a key factor in the breakdown in Build Back Better negotiations.

Following the Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, several Republican-controlled states instituted trigger laws limiting abortion. In response, prominent left-wing Democrats urged the Biden administration to take actions to protect abortion access in those states.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren both called on the federal government to make abortions available on federal lands like national parks, where state governments could not regulate the procedure.

Warren and Minnesota Sen. Tina Smith claimed in a New York Times op-ed that Biden could provide “federal resources for individuals seeking abortion care in other states” and use “federal property and resources to protect people seeking abortion services locally.” Warren also claimed that the administration could designate “federal lands as a place where abortions can occur.”

Ocasio-Cortez added that providing abortion services on federal lands is the “the babiest of the babiest of the baby steps” that the federal government can take.

Neither Warren nor Ocasio-Cortez responded to the Daily Caller’s request for comment on whether or not they believe that such actions would violate the Hyde Amendment.

I seem to have 3 threads that I'm currently posting on, as it relates to a certain topic.
How this ended up in the right to have guns, I don't remember.

Depends on how they define the 'life of the mother'
If killing the developing infant will ensure the emotional life , the continued well being of the mother, her pursuit of happiness. all that the mother and a consulting doctor will say is endangered. Her way of life being endangered. We both know life of the mother means physical life, but they do twist the words to mean other than the framer's intent, they do this with our laws and constitution too. Or mother and doctor says carrying to term will cause the woman to suicide herself and ruin her life. "

You see AOC said it out loud though, where the State has no jurisdiction.
Just yesterday the Supreme Court ruled in favor of States rights vs. Federal rights in Oklahoma.
If you remember not too long ago Oklahoma broke into two. One is State of OK and the other half was given back to the Native American tribes living in those counties and reservations.
When OK stopped having jurisdiction, the power to prosecute criminals was handed over to the federal government. FBI, DOJ, ICE, etc.
Crimes were happening and the Feds were'nt showing up to arrest, investigate, prosecute. A lot of crimes were being swept under the rug.
So the State of OK petitioned the Supreme Court to return jurisdiction to the state.
Oklahoma won a big victory yesterday.

Now compare that with setting up facilities for abortion clinics. There would be no State oversight. No local policing, no limitation clauses,
everything would be in the hands of the Federal Government.
If something medically happened and you want compensation, who you going to sue? the Federal Gvt.
This one decision here, could tie up the federal court system for years and years, with claims, whether fact or fraudulent.
There would be no limitations other than what the congress legislated for that jurisdiction.
Meaning, depending on who get the majority, today it could be abortions for all, and tomorrow it could be banned for all.
Problem with the Democrat leadership is they don't look beyond their own instant gratification.
They figure they will get as much funding as possible and everything will just kickback eventually.
Look at all the money spent on covid. A lot of that that was allocated still hasn't been spent. Where is it? Who has oversight of it?
What agency (ies) will be responsible for managing these facilitie? Building Land Management/ Health and Human Services.
Now you will need to hire more people, because this is a new situation. Always expanding the government.

Now let's say they want to build a clinic that provides operations for gender modification.
I don't know what that's called (sorry)
But there would be no state rights on little boys or girls having their physical bodies mutilated.
I can see this going in a VERY BAD direction.

In Landmark Ruling, Supreme Court Deals Massive Blow To Biden’s Climate Change Agenda

At the same time as it give the Biden admin a token victory by overturning Trump’s “remain in Mexico” rule, the US Supreme Court also struck a major blow to Biden’s fight against climate change, when in a landmark ruling, the SCOTUS also curbed the ability of America’s top environmental regulator to limit greenhouse gas emissions, siding with coal miners and Republican-led states.

In a majority opinion authored by chief justice John Roberts, the justices ruled that in the latest example of Democratic overreach, the Environmental Protection Agency was not specifically authorized by Congress to reduce carbon emissions when it was set up in 1970. The ruling leaves the Biden administration dependent on passing legislation if it wants to implement sweeping regulations to curb emissions.

The opinion from the court’s conservative majority said that “a decision of such magnitude and consequence rests with Congress itself, or an agency acting pursuant to a clear delegation from that representative body”. The justices added they doubted Congress intended to delegate the question of “how much coal-based generation there should be over the coming decades, to any administrative agency”.

The dissenting opinion authored by justice Elena Kagan and joined by the court’s other two liberal justices said the EPA had the authority to regulate “stationary sources” of polluting substances that are harmful to the public, adding that curbing the output of greenhouse gas emissions was “a necessary part of any effective approach for addressing climate change”. In other words, the usual green tripe that has sent the country to the edge of a hyperinflationary commodity disaster.

“This Court has obstructed EPA’s effort from the beginning,” Kagan wrote. “The limits the majority now puts on EPA’s authority fly in the face of the statute Congress wrote.”

As the FT reports, at the heart of the case is a disagreement over how broadly the EPA should be allowed to interpret portions of the 1970 Clean Air Act, particularly the sections that direct the EPA to develop emissions limitations for power plants.

Dubbed West Virginia vs EPA, the case was brought by a host of Republican attorneys-general and the coal industry. Their argument centres on a regulation that never took effect: an Obama-era proposal known as the Clean Power Plan, which would have mandated that power plants make 32 per cent reductions in emissions below 2005 levels by 2030. The Supreme Court ordered that rule to be suspended in 2016.

That rule was later torn up by the Trump administration in favor of its Affordable Clean Energy rule, designed to support the coal industry. The Trump administration’s regulation, however, was struck down by the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit last year.


Challenging the lower court’s reversal of Trump’s rule at the Supreme Court, West Virginia has argued that the Obama-era Clean Power Plan relied on an overly broad interpretation of the Clean Air Act and gave the EPA excessive and “industry transforming” power.

West Virginia argued that the lower court’s interpretation of the law granted the EPA “unbridled power” to issue significant rules that would reshape the US electricity grid and decarbonise sectors of the economy. It said the EPA should only have very limited authority to regulate emissions inside “the fence line” of power plants, and cannot apply broader industry-wide measures like carbon credit trading or biomass co-firing.

Defending the case, Biden’s EPA has said that nothing in the Clean Air Act makes a distinction between inside the fence line measures and broader, industry-wide regulatory measures. It added that West Virginia’s “real concern” was that the agency might introduce some elements of Obama’s Clean Power Plan into a future rule. But the EPA said that the Supreme Court is not authorised to issue an advisory opinion on the types of measures a future rule could contain.

Dick Durbin, the Democratic whip in the Senate, predictably said the decision was “a dangerous step backwards and threatens our air and our planet”, adding it “sets a troubling precedent both for what it means to protect public health and the authority regulatory agencies have to protect public health”.

What he means is that the US may once again be on the path to becoming self-sufficient in energy, and not peddling money to corrupt “green” lobbies and interests.

The ruling by the court’s conservative majority is the latest in a string of dramatic decisions that have challenged established legal precedents, including the recent reversal of Roe vs Wade. Last week, it also struck down a century-old New York state law requiring an individual to show “proper cause” to carry a concealed gun in public, deeming the statute unconstitutional. The court on Monday also ruled in favour of a former high school coach dismissed for praying at football games, fueling the fraught debate on the separation of church and state.

Obituary of Dr. Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko

Dr. Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko, the man who discovered and implemented the treatment for Covid-19 that over the past two years has been responsible for saving millions of lives worldwide, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 48.

Born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1973, Zev’s family immigrated the United States in 1977 and settled in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York.

He attended Hofstra University where he earned with a B.S. in chemistry with high honors. He then went on to the Buffalo School of Medicine where he earned his M.D. in 2000.

Zev had a family medical practice in Monroe, New York in 2020 during the onset of what would become the Covid-19 pandemic. As a physician who masterfully combined the skills of both critical thinking and the scientific method, and who shaped their application out of his love for both God and patients, Zev was not content to sit back and wait for politicians or public health officials to settle upon a prescribed treatment path. People were dying. He began searching almost immediately for a method of treatment.

Aided by initiative, good fortune, and from his account divine intervention, he discovered such a treatment in combining Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), zinc, azithromycin, and other various drugs, especially steroids, and creating what has come to be known as the “Zelenko protocol.” The key to the protocol was very early intervention to treat the virus inside the cellular level before it could break loose and develop into a full-blown respiratory disease.

Up to the time of his death, Zev had overseen the treatment of approximately 7,500 patients using his protocol and experienced only three patient deaths. The use of the Zelenko protocol has spread worldwide.

While he was nominated along with other courageous doctors for a Nobel Prize in recognition of his groundbreaking treatment and outspoken advocacy on behalf of patients, for the most part Zev faced censorship and condemnation for his taking a bold stand against prevailing orthodoxy. For whatever their motives, politicians and health officials worldwide attempted to either downplay or outright deny the efficacy of the Zelenko protocol and its simple, low-cost treatment path. Numerous studies were constructed to deliberately hide the effectives of using HCQ (later ivermectin) in conjunction with other drugs.

There were even steps taken by politicians like then New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to forbid the use of HCQ in treating patients. Social media platforms joined in the effort to silence Zev, with Twitter having famously banned him from the platform in late 2020.

As Voltaire said, “It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong.”

Despite numerous studies over the past two years that have supported the effectiveness of his protocol, access to the treatment remains denied to significant portions of the population and is simply ignored by many physicians.

Undeterred, Zev went in search of another method to treat patients that could circumvent government restrictions. HE discovered that the natural supplement Quercetin could serve the same function as did HCQ in assisting zinc to attack the still developing virus inside the cell. It was not as effective, but as Zev was fond of saying, “You don’t go to war with the army you wish you had. You go to war with the army you’ve got.” He discovery of Quercetin, which he likened to being a .22 caliber compared to HCQ’s .50 caliber ultimately led to the development of his Z-Stack supplement.

Over the past year-and-a-half, Zev has been an outspoken critic of the mRNA vaccine pointing to both its serious side-effects and its alteration of genetic code. He has been especially critical of the use of the vaccine in children who are not old enough to give their own informed consent and who face virtually no risk of serious illness from Covid-19. He has shared his views over a broad spectrum of web-based podcast interviews and at numerous live appearances across the country. He has been routinely greeted with applause interruptions and standing ovations.

As to the rare form of cancer with which he was diagnosed in early 2018 and told of its 100 percent terminal prognosis, Zev repeatedly referred to it as having been a gift from God. “My cancer is what prepared me for the Covid-19 pandemic,” He would say. “Without it, I would not have developed my passion for searching for answers that others said couldn’t be found, and without it I could not have held to the persecution and ridicule I received for daring to treat patients. I have looked death in the eye and I have been made ready to meet God. I fear nothing on this earth.”

A man of profound faith, he believed until the end that God had created a special mission for him on this earth, and that the prayers of millions had kept him alive long enough to fulfill that mission.

Zev recently announced the formation of his new Z Freedom Foundation, dedicated to continuing his critical work. He also announced the release of his memoirs, titled simply Zelenko, that will be available in late-summer to early fall 2022.

He is survived by his wife, Rinat, their two children, Shira and Liba, and six children from his previous marriage, Levi Yitzchok, Esther Tova, Eta Devorah, Nochum Dovid, Shmuel Nosson Yaakov, Menachem Mendel. Also his parents, Alex (Aaron) and Larisa (Leah) and his brother Ephraim (w. Chany).

In his simple and beautiful poem, High Flight, WWII Canadian Air Force pilot John Gillespie Magee said that he put out his hand, “and touched the face of God. For those who were blessed with having had a chance to cross paths, if even for a fleeting moment, with the remarkable man who was Vladimir “Zev” Zelenko, there is a sense of knowing that in this instance and with this soul, God simply could no longer wait to touch the face of the man who gave so much hope and so much life to so many during his time on His earth.

Dem Governor Urges Biden To Use Military Bases For Abortions
Democratic New York Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday urged the Biden administration to consider opening up military bases for abortions to women living in states that heavily restrict the procedure, ABC News reported.

Since military bases are considered federal lands, Hochul argued in a virtual meeting with President Joe Biden that federal law would allow them to override state bans, according to ABC. Her suggestion heeds widespread outcries from Democratic politicians about loss of women’s rights following the Supreme Court’s decision on June 24 overturning Roe V. Wade.

“Veterans hospitals, military bases and other places where the federal government controls the jurisdiction in some of the states that are hostile to women’s rights” could “make sure that those services can be available to other women” not publicly employed, Hochul said, according to ABC.

Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico, also in the meeting, floated the idea of using Indian Health Service clinics and tribal territory, where state law does not govern, as alternatives to private abortion facilities, ABC reported.

Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren stated that the U.S. government should plant abortion facilities on the outskirts of national parks on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Sunday and in a Washington Post interview Monday.

Health and Human Services secretary Xavier Becerra said Tuesday that “every option is on the table” regarding abortion access, but the agency would “have a conversation with the president to make sure we implement his directives”

The White House, while agreeing with the Democratic leaders on the supposed need for comprehensive reproductive healthcare availability for all, said on Tuesday putting abortion centers on government-owned property could have “dangerous ramifications.”

Currently, however, federal facilities, including military bases, can only perform abortions in the case of rape, incest or where the life of the mother is in danger due to the Hyde Amendment, which prevents taxpayer dollars from funding elective abortions.

The House Appropriations Committee approved amendments to the fiscal year 2023 funding bill Thursday that would repeal the Hyde Amendment, allowing federal medical centers to perform abortions to the degree Congress decides, according to a press release.

“The bill eliminates the Hyde and Weldon amendments, a long-standing discriminatory policy that denied low-income women their legal right to an abortion,” the bill summary stated.

Hochul’s office and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies did not respond to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

In a telling slip of the tongue during a press conference in Toronto Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau admitted that he is “banning” firearms.

Trudeau started off by saying that he is intent on “freezing” the Canadian gun market while not distinguishing between handguns, shotguns and rifles.

He then admitted that his government would look at “banning” all guns.

Trudeau said “Whether it’s our most recent initiatives on banning—sorry, on freezing the market for firearms, which will start moving us in the right direction over the medium and long term.”

A little over a month ago, following the school shooting in Texas, Trudeau proposed freezing pistol sales in Canada as part of new gun control legislation.

“The day this legislation goes into effect it will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns in Canada,” Trudeau told reporters.

The announcement prompted a rush on gun sales with Canadian gun stores dealing with lines out the door.

VIDEOS now show that the Georgia Guidestones have been completely levelled after one part of the monument was blown up early on Wednesday, July 6. Police have released CCTV footage and are appealing for help.

UPDATE 12.50 am (July 7) – Videos show the site where the Georgia Guidestones used to stand tall, now reduced to rubble and giant slabs of concrete.

Twitter user @BinkySpooner shared a video of the mysterious slabs, which had been in Georgia for more than 40 years, being torn down.

UPDATE 12.50 am (July 7) – Videos show the site where the Georgia Guidestones used to stand tall, now reduced to rubble and giant slabs of concrete.

Twitter user @BinkySpooner shared a video of the mysterious slabs, which had been in Georgia for more than 40 years, being torn down.

The Georgia Guidestones were built in 1980 at a cost of $500,000 dollars on behalf of “a small group of loyal Americans” who remain anonymous to this day, but is believed to include philanthropist and population control-enthusiast Ted Turner.

Turner has repeatedly advocated for a 95 percent population reduction and attends weird confabs with the likes of Bill Gates and George Soros to discuss how globalists could use their wealth to “slow the growth of the world’s population.”

As the History Channel explains, the stones are aligned to precisely track astrological and solar cycles.

“The east and west corners of the monument track sunrise and sunset. A slot that’s cut into one of the slabs marks the winter and summer solstices. A shaft that’s drilled through the center of the stone marks Polaris, the north star. And a slit that’s cut through the capstone marks the perfect noon time. So that means it’s this sort of granite Swiss Army knife: The Guidestones have a calendar, a compass, a translator and a guide…which is bananas.”

I watched that video and I came away with a somewhat different perspective.
They chased down this man RC Christian who considered himself a christian and most other people did too.
They saym the real story is kind of like this:
During the cold war in the 80's when people were building bomb shelters for nuclear war, this man was thinking about what should happen after.
They say he thought about these 10 commandments (suggestions) in order to keep the world from getting into the stage it had become.
It wasn't to "reduce" population to 500 million, but rather, if there are only some people that would survive an all out nuclear war,
then they for the good of humanity (avoid poverty, etc) it would be in man's best interest to have oversight of it's own population.
That people should live in harmony with nature etc.
I get that. It's like a list for starting over, after everything gets blown apart.
He figured because it was made out of granite it would have the best chance of overcoming the worst, specially time.
I guess somebody proved that wrong.
Anywho...
that's what I got from that documentary.

Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order Thursday mobilizing the state’s National Guard and Department of Public Safety officers to deport illegal immigrants.

The decision comes days after Texas county leaders declared an “invasion” at the border and called on the governor to take action.

“Cartels have become emboldened by Biden’s open border policies,” Abbott wrote in a Twitter post announcing the order. “Texas is taking unprecedented action to STOP this criminal enterprise.”

The order thrashes the Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis, led by Kamala Harris, and allows state authorities to take apprehended illegals back to Mexican ports of entry.

“Securing the international border is the federal government’s responsibility, but President Biden has refused to enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress,” the order states.

“The cartels refer to these open-border policies as la invitación (“the invitation”), reflecting the perception that President Biden welcomes immigrants to make the dangerous trek across our southern border,” it continues.

The governor’s order notes the 53 dead immigrants found in the back of an 18-wheeler near San Antonio last week as an example of the dangers illegals are subjected to.

Abbott also puts the Biden administration on notice over the “42 subjects on the terrorist watchlist” arrested coming across the border since January 2021, as well as the “unknown number” of terrorists that made it into Texas without being caught.

Continuing, the order says, “President Biden’s failure to protect our border has necessitated action by the State of Texas to ensure public safety and to defend against violations of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

The Executive Order cites the Biden administration’s attempts at terminating Title 42 border expulsions as an act that would result in as many as 18,000 immigrant apprehensions per day, according to the DHS.

Governor Abbott also tells the feds their open border policies are supporting drug cartels, writing, “Biden’s reckless refusal to secure the border will provide material support to the cartels, allow them to smuggle more dangerous people, drugs, and weapons into Texas, and embolden cartel gunmen to continue shooting at state and federal officials.”

Abbott’s order accuses Sleepy Joe of an impeachable offense by failing to protect the borders of states like Texas.

“President Biden’s failure to faithfully execute the immigration laws enacted by Congress confirms that he has abandoned the covenant, in Article IV, § 4 of the U.S. Constitution, that ‘[t]he United States . . . shall protect each [State in this Union] against Invasion,’ and thus has forced the State of Texas to build a border wall, deploy state military forces, and enter into agreements as described in Article I, § 10 of the U.S. Constitution to secure the State of Texas and repel the illegal immigration that funds the cartels.”

Concluding the order, the governor writes, “I, Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, do hereby authorize and empower the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to respond to this illegal immigration by apprehending immigrants who cross the border between ports of entry or commit other violations of federal law, and to return those illegal immigrants to the border at a port of entry. This executive order shall remain in effect and in full force unless it is modified, amended, rescinded, or superseded by the governor.”

Witnesses: Onlookers Fainted as Japan’s Ex-PM Abe Shinzo Shot with ‘Bazooka’-Like Weapon

Eyewitnesses described Friday’s assassination of Japan’s former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo as a scene of utter chaos, saying onlookers of the attack fainted in shock as pieces of plastic debris flew off of the still-unidentified weapon used to kill him.

Abe, Japan’s longest-serving prime minister, died on Friday in the city of Nara after a man now identified as 41-year-old Yamagami Tetsuya shot him with what Japanese media indicate at press time appeared to be a homemade firearm. Doctors reported that Abe suffered cardiac arrest as a result of wounds in his neck. He was 67 years old.

Abe, of the long-ruling conservative Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), left a legacy of advocating for Japan to take on a larger international role, including expanding its minimal defense capabilities and investing in a closer relationship with America.

Shortly before his death, Abe spent much of his public time following his resignation in 2020 warning that world must act to contain the threat of Chinese communism and urging America to expand its support for the nation of Taiwan, which China routinely threatens to invade. Chinese media outlets threatened “routine” military exercises around Japan as recently as Wednesday in response to the LDP’s concerns about Beijing’s belligerence.

Police have yet to reveal a motive for the shooting at press time, though Japanese newspapers report that Yamagami told police he intended to kill Abe because he was “dissatisfied” with his political performance. Some reports indicate that Yamagami also gave police other unrelated information, such as a claim that he wanted to kill an unnamed “religious” leader, instead of or in addition to Abe.


An unnamed high school student who claimed to watch the events transpire from a nearby building told Japan’s Asahi Shimbun newspaper on Friday that the assassin used a weapon that looked like a “bazooka” and that Abe appeared to continue speaking after first being shot.

“The shooter, who was wearing a gray-colored top, took a couple steps back and fired again. Abe then appeared to lose power and fell down, she said,” according to Asahi.

The student added that some on the scene appeared to faint as others rushed towards Abe to attempt emergency first aid.

“I thought someone threw a bomb,” another unnamed witness told Asahi, describing the loudness of the weapon. The witness observed that local legislative candidates for whom Abe was campaigning were “red-faced” and sobbing.

Speaking to Japan’s NHK broadcaster, another anonymous witness reported that the weapon used to kill Abe fell apart as it was being fired, which added to the panic as debris rained down on bystanders.

“Things like pieces of plastic came flying at me over a crowd of people. They were chunks of plastic, something in the shapes of cylinders. They were about 5 centimeters long,” the witness is quoted as saying. He described the weapon’s sound as “like a bomb.”

The Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun cited another eyewitness – a bar owner who gave his name, Yutaka Nitta – who described similar scenes of confusion and shock.

“According to Nitta, two gunshots were heard from behind Abe about five minutes after he began the campaign speech. The politician collapsed on the ground from a platform immediately after he looked back,” according to the Mainichi. “Some 20 people including guard officers were around him at the time.”

Someone grabbed Abe’s microphone and told the crowd, “please calm down,” to little avail, Nitta added.

Japan’s current prime minister, Kishida Fumio – who served as Abe’s foreign minister – called Abe’s killing “absolutely unforgivable” in an emotional speech on Friday, delivered before doctors confirmed his death.

“It is a barbaric act during election campaigning, which is the foundation of democracy, and it is absolutely unforgivable. I condemn this act in the strongest terms,” Kishida asserted.

“I was praying that his life would be saved, but despite that, I came to learn of (his death),” Kishida later told reporters. “It is truly regrettable. I am lost for words. I offer my sincere condolences and prayers that his soul may rest in peace.”
