You are added to the church by baptism, not receiving the Holy Ghost.
Your red is found nowhere in the NT.
This just might be a classic case of ...
putting false church doctrine ahead of Scripture.

"For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit
we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free,
baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body,
and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.
For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many."
(1 Cor 12:13-14, Amplified Bible
< for those who need the help)

Cherry-picking the Word of God has gotten you (the JBF) to this place of total confusion
Hearing spiritual truth from the Holy Spirit avoids a lot of heart-ache.
IOW, spiritual revelation from God is necessary to understand the NT.
The Holy Spirit indwells BACs to lead them into "all (spiritual) truth" (John 14).
Many young BACs think they know everything ... but alas, t'aint so.

The entire easy believism movement was started to omit water baptism for the remission of sins to be saved.(Acts 2:38)
It also included omitting believing and water baptism to be saved(Mark 16:16).

Look at what happened when Peter preached the gospel to Cornelius.

While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.
Acts 10:44-48 ESV

While Peter was still preaching his listeners were saved and received the Holy Spirit. It was only after these things happened that they were baptized in water. Also, look at the reason John wrote his gospel.

Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
John 21:25 ESV

If John was written to show how to receive eternal life and water baptism was necessary, then water baptism must be commanded in the book. In fact, there is no such command. John records the fact that both John the Baptist and Jesus baptized their converts but there is no command to be baptized. When Jesus was addressing the unsaved he frequently told them they must believe on him but he never told them they needed to be baptized in water.

I'll humor you just with this ...

Believers are INITIALLY saved by God's wonderful free gift of grace
and their PAST-PREVIOUS-OLD sins (2 Peter 1:9) are forgiven ...
butski they have NO guarantee that this grace will last forever!

Believers are called to co-operate with God's Plan of Salvation,
or they will forfeit their salvation!
Yes, Martha, free will is involved.
How to participate in said co-operate is listed in the OP.
.

Ephesians 2:8-10 says, For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

We neither receive or keep our salvation by anything we do. It is a gift of God and Romans 11:29 says, For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. You probably know of people who have professed to be Christians but later denied the faith and went on to live lives that proved they weren't saved. These people didn't lose their salvation but were never saved in the first place. Perhaps they were victims of the easy believism gospel.

Baptism adds to the church
John 3:5---------------Spirit+++++++++++water>>>>>>>>>>>in the kingdom
1 Cor 12:13-----------Spirit++++++++++baptized>>>>>>>>>in the body
Tts 3:5---------------Holy Ghost++++++laver of water>>>>>>>saved

Three clear references to water baptism that leads to being saved/in the body/in the kingdom as water baptism of Acts 2:38 leads to remission of sins/salvation/in the body(church).

You completely skipped acts 2:38(the birthplace of the Church).

Why?

Did you know the founding salvation message to sinners is acts 2:38?

Can you quote it and make it fit into your life today?

When Cornelius and his household received the Holy Spirit prior to Baptism – it is the ONLY time in the NT where we see this. You have to remember that they were the FIRST example of Gentiles being Baptized into the Church. This was a clear sign to ALL that there was no longer an exception between Jews and Gentiles. ALL are the same in Christ (Gal. 3:28).

God makes exceptions where HE sees they are needed.
The Bible clearly shows that Baptism is the normative requirement for salvation:
Mark 16:16
Whoever believes and is BAPTIZED will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.

John 3:5
Jesus answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of WATER and SPIRIT.

1 Peter 3:21

This prefigured BAPTISM, which saves you now.

Remember - in the story of the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8 – we don’t see him receiving the Holy Spirit prior to Baptism.

What do you think about all of these NT verses? ...

There are at least 10 NT verses for each of the following 7 truths …
Believers prove they have true saving faith:
1 -- by their obedience
2 -- by practicing righteousness
3 -- by living holy lives
4 -- by having a healthy fear of God
5 -- by repenting of their occasional sins
6 -- by overcoming sin, the world, Satan, persecution
7 -- by enduring in the faith to the end of their lives

Re: #4 … If people are believing and trusting in grace-only, cheap-grace,
hyper-grace, easy-believism, etc., HOW can they be fearing God?

Would thou please giveth us a break?

Acts 2:44-48 (NKJV)
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,
47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
48 And he commanded them to be (water) baptized in the name of the Lord.

HUH?? You mean Acts 10:44-48 – not 2:44-48.
Giveth us the correct verse . . .

This is the story of the Baptism of Cornelius - and the ONE time that the Holy Spirit fell upon people PRIOR to Baptism. As I explained - this was an exception as Cornelius and his group are the first Gentiles to be Baptized in Scripture.

Yes, this is the story of the first Gentiles to be saved
(which was followed by water baptism).

Can a person "believe INTO" Christ or....

Are they "baptized INTO" Christ?

Which one is scriptural?

Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Act_11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Yep with the Holy Spirit. Your stuck in the past

Both of these verses refer to the baptism with the Holy Spirit
with the confirming evidence of speaking in tongues.
Nothing to do with salvation ... it's a second work of grace, as they say.
More info is available, if requested.

It does not say they believed into Christ, right?
Okay, so the only alternative is being baptized into Christ.
