Browsing christian forums I see many concerned about sin. The modern day conception of sin appears something like, if christians watch a disney film portraying magic and sorcery. The evil sinny sin sin monster will come through their tv screens and grab them. Whereupon it will attempt to drag them into hell. Therefore they must avoid Harry Potter at all costs to save their immortal souls. Or if christians take a yoga class, the evil hinda yoga monster will get them.
I think people do not give darkness enough credit for its deceptions, if they believe its works so simplistic or easy to avoid.
In the bible, the devil is called the "father of lies". Not the father of pornography, nor the father of sorcery. The father of lies. Why? Because lies, inaccuracies and deceptions are far more damaging to families, society and the human spirit, than things like sorcery or pornography ever could be.
Please think about and consider this for a moment.
Think about lies the devil uses to trick people. Do you know what they are?
Lies of the devil:
"You're not good enough."
"No one likes you."
"You're not smart."
"You have no talent."
"No one could ever love you."
"You will never be successful."
"You're ugly."
A person who believes the devil's lies, will suffer more damage spiritually, and be more degraded, than someone who reads a harry potter book or takes a yoga class.
