"Christ is the Wisdom of God"
This is ridiculous, but keep it coming, I guess. I suppose I can use the exercise.
"Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God...But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." (1 Cor 1)
If God 'created' at some beginning His Christ, His 'wisdom and power and righteousness...', then what was 'He', and what did 'He' have before He became wise and powerful and righteous?? I.e. what was this 'God' without His power and His wisdom?
To say that Christ is merely the 'created' power and wisdom of God created by God in the beginning, but was not God Himself, then such a 'god' was a personless 'spirit', a force, with no personal character nor attributes thereof. Sort of like the prince and power of the air...
To say God is power is to say God is a force, not a Person. And so to say Christ is a created power is to say Christ is a force created by a force without power in the first place to do so. To say God created His power is to say God was a personless force that created his own power to have for Himself, which He had not before.
I.e. The Big Bang theory on parade. A personless force absent of personal characteristic that creates for itself wisdom and power enough to explode itself into the universe.
Oh Gee, and isn't that exactly what the JW's think of the 'spirit' of God and translate Him as such in their own 'bible'? Well how about that! They may not be JW's, but they certainly talk and believe like JW's.
Utter foolishness.
Now let's move on to sound doctrine of Scripture in proper context:
The wisdom of God was to make foolish the wise of this world and to use the base things of this world to save them that believe, even the cross of Christ.
God providing Himself as Christ on earth to be the burnt offering for sin of man, is the wisdom that God chose for His power to persuade men unto His salvation, not by their own works and will, but by faith in Him.
Much better than a force forcing power and wisdom into the universe without personal forethought nor ability beforehand...
