Thank you. I understand how you feel. You are growing in your knowledge. Your articulated it very well.
I personally find it hard to believe that after 2000 years of men interpreting Scripture that we only have “partial information”. But anything is possible.
GINOLJC, to all
True, 1 Corinthians 13:10 "But when that which
is perfect is come,
then that which is in part shall be done away."
I been following this topic, and it's been enlighting. and my hat off to Waiting on him and VictoryinJesus.
when the Lord Jesus told and explain a future event from prophecy, that which was in part is fulfilled in him. the Jews knew exactly who and what the name "Lazarus" ment. yes, "Eliezer", Abraham purchased servant. who now our Lord Jesus "purchased" us with a price. two scriptures,
1 Corinthians 6:20 "
For ye are bought with a price:
therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
1 Corinthians 7:23 "
Ye are bought with a price;
be not ye the servants of men."
now what do this mean to as one said, "to a torah carrying Jew". listen, to the reason why one is bought with a price, Hebrews 9:11 "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and
more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;"
Hebrews 9:12 "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place,
having obtained eternal redemption for us."
Hebrews 9:13 "For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:"
Hebrews 9:14 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Hebrews 9:15 "And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death,
for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called
might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."
Hebrews 9:16 "For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator."
Oops, hope I haven't given it away, the meaning of the teaching.
hope not, but the replies were great.
the Name "Eliezer" means
God of help. it's the Hebrew word,
H461 אֱלִיעֶזֶר 'Eliy`ezer (el-ee-eh'-zer) n/p.
1. (meaning)
God of help.
2. Eliezer, the name of a Damascene and of ten Israelites.
[from H410 and H5828]
KJV: Eliezer.
Now I would suggest one go back a re-read post #12 & #13. did one read those posts? good now this, a helper is called a "COMFORTER"..... (smile)... listen to the scripture,
Luke 2:25 "And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the
consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him." the "consolation" of Israel is the Lord Jesus.
now what do one think or know what the word consolation mean? well lets have a look see,
Consolation: G3874 παράκλησις paraklesis (pa-ra'-klee-sis) n.
1. an imploration, entreaty (urgent request (for mercy or
help)).
2. an exhortation (urgent
counsel, encouragement, or caution).
3. a comfort, solace.
[from G3870]
KJV: comfort, consolation, exhortation, intreaty
Root(s): G3870
now when someone gives "help", or "comfort", they are called a ... "COMFORTER".....

now in post #12 again,
Matthew 15:22 "And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying,
Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil." (HOLD IT, "Have Mercy", which is an Indication of one in need of "HELP", and the Hebrew name, "Eliezer", as in Abraham servant of Damascus means,
H461 אֱלִיעֶזֶר 'Eliy`ezer (el-ee-eh'-zer) n/p.
1. (meaning)
God of help.
lets contuine,
Matthew 15:23 "But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us."
Matthew 15:24 "But he answered and said,
I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel." (Wait a minute, Lord Jesus say that again? you was sent to who? ...... ). is the Light blubs going off?
Matthew 15:25 "Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord,
help me." THERE IT IS, what doses, "Eliezer", Abraham servant of Damascus NAME means? ........ "
God of help".
Matthew 15:26 "But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's
bread, and to cast it to dogs."
Matthew 15:27 "And she said, Truth, Lord: yet
the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." (HOLD IT, what fell from the rich man table? Luke 16:21 "And desiring to be fed with
the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores." ding, ding, are we getting this now?
Matthew 15:28 "Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman,
great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour."
this is just my two cent worth put in, but there is more.
side note: a poster is correct in saying that this is not a fictitious story. the way I found out that it was not, when you see the word "certain" used by the Lord Jesus in such a setting, LOOK out a Spiritual teaching is at hand. God use certian word to give us a heads up on a spiritual teaching. as such a "certain" man had two sons Matthews 21..... oop's I hope I din't give something away again... ;)
it seems that we have a morden day Priscilla and Aquila in our midst. it's refreshing to see this. God bless.
PICJAG.
PS as I started this post I will end it the same way, 1 Corinthians 13:10 "
But when that which is perfect is come, then
that which is in part shall be done away." ...... (smile).
