They wanted the Glory.

Yes...pretty much as satan would have them do...just as he did. Oh, the carnality of it all!!!!

Oh the humanity! Lol.

"he had access to the Tree of Life and could have eaten of it at any time."
I can only wonder, was the Tree of Life not as pleasing to the eye for them? Or, satan in the form of the serpent (who had to have had legs at one time, no?? nother topic :D ) made sure they focused them on the wrong tree. Hmm. Things that make ya go hmm. lol.

Just my guess, but I'm thinking that the Tree of Life may not have had ripe fruit yet. I think they were to be tested first with the forbidden tree, with the Tree of Life coming in later.

Just my speculation . . .

Much love!

I can testify to supernatural healing. Healed instantaneously from "incurable conditions". It happened to me. It's not something I really talk about though.

I'm convince these spiritual gifts haven't stopped, but I prefer to use Scritpure rather than anecdotes.

Much love!
Don't know as I would call all of the posts like this as "anecdotes" as, much does relate to the subject matter. I say we need to prove or dis-prove with scripture backup. Can you show me a sample of what doesn't line up with scripture...I am being serious because Scripture is where I get my base of all Truth from, and Scripture and the Holy Spirit are one to me...He will always be my ultimate teacher. Especially where discernment comes into play which is often. If there is something that goes against it then, I will question it.

Consider though that Israel also had the words of God. Yet God stood right before them and they missed Him. In fact, they argued against Him WITH His own words...bizarre but true.

Understood but, we now have the Living Word woven through scripture. If I were to base anything having to do with God on, it must be His Word to us. Otherwise I would be no different than many out there who worship false gods and have humans adding and taking. If I did not have The Word, I would have no basis. If I walk away from the only instruction, inspired by God Himself...I would flail and be going against my own convictions.

By "anecdote" I just mean "a short personal story that relates to the topic". Not intending to diminish the reality or impact of personal healings. Just to say, I can tell my story, but I don't really like to. And I don't think it's important what stories I tell.

Much love!

And yet, this does not negate His Word, it shows that you can have the revelation of God, and even God in front of your eyes, and still seek after idols.

It's like Jesus said, Even if one came back from the dead they still wouldn't believe. And that's from the One Who was planning to return from the dead.

If you don't believe the written Word, neither will you believe Jesus.

Much love!

20 men in here believe the word and disagree what it means in 35 ways. They all say they believe the word.

Indeed! You can look right at it, and miss it completely! Its sad when that happens.

But I truly believe that if we are honest, and humble, and submitted to God and to His Word, and if we continue in love, that it is possible to come to unity of faith and knowledge.

Much love!

I do not reveal all of my own story either. We most likely have different reasons for that. Experience and wisdom have taught me to leave these thing that were once a huge part of my life, in the past where they belong ♥ Although, I think it's cool to share praise reports from our own lives! :)

God desires to dwell with people who have a contrite and humble spirit.
Yup, and may I add: That make a still, and thus, inviting place for Him...there is a reason His Spirit is depicted as a dove.
(You could scream at a pigeon and it wouldn't budge....look sideways at a dove
and it's gone. Stillness is a major key.) :)

Psalm 15:1-5 KJV
[1] Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? [2] He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. [3] He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. [4] In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. [5] He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Take note, this is referring to the here and now. There’s no lending of money in our glorified state, everything is under the commonwealth of king Jesus who distributes equally

The foolishness of God and the weakness of God? What is “the foolishness of God” and the “weakness of God”
if not where He chooses to put His Name...wiser than men and stronger than men to confound.
Hi, :) I didn't know what that meant....'where He chooses to put His Name...could you or someone explain that to me?
Thanks, sorry to bother you if it is. ;)

Stillness is very hard for me. I think that is why I hate watching TV or going to movies, lol. Sometimes I feel like a dog - 'Oh, a squirrel! or ' who just walked by my house, gotta go to the window and see'! Or, in other words, my mind does not stop! Lol. Yet, my Savior is ALWAYS at the forefront of my ADHD mind :D AND the prayers sent to Him about being still before Him WILL be answered ♥

With them Matthew 5:3-12 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [4] Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. [5] Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. [6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. [7] Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. [8] Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. [9] Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. [10] Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

God’s weakness and foolishness ...stronger than the strength of all men.

You will hear from me many times...I'm a bit slow...
I still don't understand, where He chooses to put His Name. What am I missing? I understand, 'for My sake'...very much so.
Do the rest of you understand that particular phrase? Thanks.

For me it's all about usefulness, and where I feel the Spirit leads me.

Mostly what I find is that the things I experience in my life serve to inform my feelings of confidence, but I think that really only goes for me, that is, I don't think my stories give other people the confidence I feel having lived them.

Details from my flesh-life seldom work any good, I find, only enough so that others can know I really do know about that. I'm giving a talk at our next men's prayer breakfast about pornography addiction, and I'm intending to let them know that I was an addict, for a number of years, and that God freed me, and He can free you, whomever, too! And beyond that, my story doesn't matter, what matters is the power of a resurrected life, and that I tell from the Bible.

I'm going to give them a lot of info on brain chemistry too, so they can understand the cravings. Knowing the power of the flesh is broken can sometimes be difficult to understand, but it can be easier, I think, to apply that knowledge when we understand actually how things work, and how the devil schemes to exploit the weaknesses of the flesh, in this case, the addiction process, which reveals porn to be essentially just another drug addiction.

Supernatural things God does with me, so many are clearly outside of this nature, and in them I know a Faithful Creator. He made me because He wants me, and He understands my life, not just that He understands humanity, but He knows and understands me, and that is such a strong reality for me, with the things I've experienced being such strong and dramatic part of that.

And in every case, these things simply show the clear and simple statements of the Bible. And in fact, while I'd have to fill 10 forums with writing to properly show how this is so, the Bible is so completely and thouroughly interwoven through all of these experiences, all they do is leave me pointing to the Bible saying, "I believe that Book!", because I believe God Who wrote it, and I know He wrote it to me.

But for all the power my experiences have in my life, I find the Bible has more.

Preachin' to the choir I perceive!

Much love!

Was Adam born again? Was Adam under the New Covenant? Considering that started after Jesus died, I don't see how he could have been.

I do not presume to judge God on man's law.

Do you really think that the fact of your birth from your parents might be undone? I imagine God could reach into our past and prevent your conception, but that's not what He did since here you are.

Why would you think a son ceases to be a son?

If you seek understanding of our covenant and our relationship with God in this New Covenant by looking at someone who was not in that covenant, what must be the result?

My inheritance is preserved in heaven, I've been promised.

So, I'll accept God's promise over the application of man's inheritance law.

He's reserved my inheritance for me, and He is guarding me by faith. He is able, and He has promised.

My confidence is in His ability, not mine.

Much love!
I won't go through all of this with you again... not now! I do have an answer or at least a question with regard to each of your points. One difference I do see between us is that I have not decided what the end is for me. I believe that you have for you... but discussing it further won't make a difference that I am able to see. May God bless you richly as you walk with Him.
