It is an eternal question Vince, something that even most Christians don't understand. But we accept that he is Sovereign and also that he is Love.

I think belief is all we have. We cannot be 100% certain of anything but we can be highly confident of a lot of things based on evidence.
Why believe thing's you don't know Vince?
Just accept you just don't know, until you do.
That is what belief is. Belief is not 100% certainty. We cannot be 100% certain of anything in my opinion so what we believe is true is based on evidence and a confidence level from that evidence. I am almost 100% sure that the sun will still be here tomorrow when I wake up based on a lot of evidence but I cannot be 100% certain, I cannot know the future.
The preacher Spurgeon was asked how to reconcile the sovereignty of God with human responsibility; he replied, I would not want to try to reconcile two friends. (!)
In other words, both are Scriptural.
Maybe not to your satisfaction. Well why should a non-believer believe that Jesus rose from the dead? But there is a tomb where Mohammed is buried but there is no tomb for Jesus as the tomb they laid him in was empty.
ps I don't understand why non-believers would want to come and argue about what they don't believe unless it is to cause disruption. What is your reason?
