The Bible teaches us that our works judge us, not our faith. We aren't judged by what we believe, but by what we do.

Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:


In the Bible good works have always been necessary to be judged righteous with God. That includes all NT believers, because God is not a respecter of persons when righteously judging any man's work.

The Bible never says we are judged by our faith alone, and not by our works. We are justified by works, because our deeds judge our faith, whether it is of God or not.

Good works is not just a show of faith, but are the necessary means of being just and righteous with God. Christ comes to make our works truly good, because they are not from a pure heart of faith. He does not come to bypass works and judge us by our faith alone.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

We see here how we are not only justified by our works, but we are also resurrected unto life by our works being judged as good with God.

Faith without works is so useless, because without the good works we do by faith, we do not receive the reward of inheriting the kingdom of God forever.

Faith is not the end goal. Good works are the goal of faith, because the reward of inheritance is by good works, not by faith alone.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

The Bible says being charitable in life is greater than faith. Faith and hope are important, and faith is the gift of God, so that we can please Him by doing good. Doing good and not evil is how we are judged by God to be worthy to walk with Him in white forever.

Yes believers will be judged for their works. But it is not for salvation, but for rewards or loss of rewards. The lost stand before the great white throne for judgment, while believers will stand before the bema seat judgment. Our sin shave all been paid for and removed so sin is no the issue at our judgment, but the works we do in His name will what be judged. Were they done under the influence of the Spirit (gold silver precious stones) or were they done with carnal motives (wood hay and stubble)

there is a huge difference between the great white throne judgment and the bema seat judgment.

The works of God have been prepared by God for us in obedience to his word; we must walk in them as James has said " show me your faith by your works" !

Not the traditions of men!
Marks 7:

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Titus 2:13-14

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.


I see a lot of people using Pauls writings in Galatians against doing the works of the law of Moses as a reason to avoid all good works. We Christians may not be under the law of Moses but we are under the law of Christ. Jesus commanded us to love one another and do practical things to help those around us in need.

We are supposed to be affirming this constantly (Titus 3:8). But instead many theologically minded have become works-phobic.

Yes one day you will be judged where you stand spiritually before God in all the works you allowed him to work in and through your life by and through the spirit.

There are three types of resurrections.

1. Resurrection of judgement or condemned - unfaithful people whom go outside of the Kingdom of God.

2. Resurrection of life - general resurrection of faithful people whom go inside of the Kingdom of God

3. Resurrection of the dead - that is actually BETTER than the initial one, which Paul strived to obtain, which is an (outer resurrection from the normal), which is very obsecure, just go and look into the greek you will find out. - Not sure where the placement is for this one, though there seems to be a structure to a Kingdom in my opinion.

(Maybe even closer to God than others) all subjective of course.

A life you lived for God.

But it is not for salvation, but for rewards or loss of rewards.

This confuses ministerial rewards spoken of in 1 Cor 3, with works of righteousness or works of the flesh.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

The Bible plainly says that those walking after the flesh reap corruption not everlasting life.

The LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.


All man's works are still judged righteously by God, whether unto everlasting life with Him or everlasting shame apart from Him.

The reward of the righteous for their good works, is to inherit His kingdom. The reward of the unrighteous for their evil works, is to be forever alone and separated from God.

Yes. The judgement seat of Christ is for ministry, and not for evil or good done in our bodies. If we end our days in evil, then we will not be at His judgement seat, but at the great white throne.

True. Which is shown by ministering according to the words of the Bible, or not. Especially if ministering openly against the Bible by unbelief in any of God's words.

Many of us can minster badly by either being ignorant of all God's words, or sloppy handling of them. The dangerous ministers that lead the believers astray unto destruction, are them that purposely teach against God's words in order to justify sinning among the believers.

Yes. Very huge. One is for ministry, and the other is for doing righteousness or unrighteousness in this life.

Salvation or damnation has nothing to do with works.
So, the judgement of God has nothing to do with salvation and damnation?

That's not Bible. The Bible teaches God judges every man by His works, whether doing good unto salvation, or doing evil unto damnation.

James is saying justification by works. There is no salvation alone without justification of God.

We are saved by faith through grace with works of His righteousness. We are justified by works of His faith.

Well all 38 English and the Greek translations I have read, not once has said that only sins of the past are forgiven. You are directly saying that Jesus death does not cover sins once someone becomes a believer. I await your verse that shows only past sins are forgiven.
That's not Bible. The Bible teaches God judges every man by His works, whether doing good unto salvation, or doing evil unto damnation.
Well show the verse then!

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

In a manner of speaking, yes, God will judge our works, not necessarily our beliefs. Remember, though, that we can choose what we believe, and sometimes for fleshy reasons, leaving our belief subject to judgment as well. Jesus will know which beliefs we've held sincerely, and which we've adopted because they allowed us some self-justification.

Whether we will have life or not will be determined whether we've entered life in Christ being born from God. This comes from God Himself, not ourselves, when we believe Him, His message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To those who received Him, believing into His Name, to them God gave the right to become childen of God . . . who were born of God.

If you've been born of God, you have life in Him, and will live with Him in the ages to come. If you have not been born from Him, you have no eternal life, and must be born again, or you will be condemned.

Those who refuse Christ do so because they know they sin, and they don't want it exposed. Those who repent come to the Light, that the light shine on their lives, being born again into righteousness, the righteousness of God through faith.

This is where we distinguish with any form of righteousness we can gain for ourselves, and the righteousness of God which is by faith, which excells over our own righteousness as does the Spirit of Christ over our flesh. What we do in our bodies does nothing towards giving us the kind of righteousness which God has. But through faith, that is the righteousness which we receive.

Philippians 3:6-9 KJV
6) Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7) But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8) Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

The fact is, you cannot do works to be judged righteous sufficiently to live with God. Already being dead in sin, in corrupt flesh, already condemned, nothing you can do can erase that. Only in Christ, Only in Jesus' death and resurrection, by faith in Him, can you be made righteous. And nothing you can ever do, nothing, you being but a man, can add anything to the righteousness of Christ, the righteousness of God Himself, given you in Him, being born again, joining Him in His death and resurrection, and living in His life.

The reality is far greater than this.

John 1:29 KJV
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV
19) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

God did everything on His side to reconcile us to Himself, removing all of our sins. There is no past present or future here, this is the sin of the world. All of it, carried away by Jesus.

What remains is that we receive the reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21 KJV
20) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

10) For if while being enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life;
11) and not only so, but also glorying in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we now received the reconciliation.

Even while we were God's enemies, God reconciled us to Himself in Christ. And in Christ, we can receive that reconciliation, being born again into His righteousness.

People who put themselves forth as authoritative teachers of the Bible ought first be at least familiar with all the Bible. Especially if they are teaching doctrine that can either help or harm the church.

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Exactly. The blood of the Lamb of God is not that of a bull or goat that only covers sins, but washes all the past life away.

Even in the OT, sins weren't covered until the sacrifice was offered in blood. Being already forgiven of present and future sins would be a disanullment of the sacrifice to OT believers.

The Lamb of God remains a daily sacrifice to us, only so long as our sins remain in the past.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.


The necessity of deeds is left out, in order to preach believing alone.

Those judged and justified by God as His believers are only those doing the truth.

Those judged and condemned as unbelievers are all those whose deeds are evil.

That includes all those being believers by hearing only. Their belief is counted by God as unbelief, by their deeds of unrighteousness.

It's the same principle of judgement for circumcision, that is made uncircumcision by transgression.

For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.

The believers doing unrighteousness are judged by the Bible as unbelievers, because their faith without doing the truth is counted as dead to God.

The same principle goes for the OT and the NT. Any man can cast the Lord's law and hand from themselves, in order to sin with the flesh.

No man can pluck us out of His hand, if we continue to love and abide in Him by doing the truth from a pure heart.

If we are dining with the devil, Jesus is not supping with us. Jesus allows any man to fellowship with the world, if that is his purposed will. Jesus just won't be Him joining in.

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Present willfully sinning has no reconciliation nor fellowship nor forgiveness of God by Jesus Christ. If we do sin wilfully, then we can and must repent and come to the Advocate of the whole world, just like any sinner of the world.

We are told that even if we do forsake God to wilfully sin with the devil, then the race is not over for us, but even as the Jews that slew the Lord, we can still be grafted in again.

Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

Your theory of salvation by works directly contradicts the Scriptures.
Already addressed this enough. You have no response to any point I've made, to show it is not reasonable.

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

We are judged by our works just like any and every man, and not by our faith alone. God is not respecter of persons and unjust judge, to condemn the unrighteous unbelievers, and yet not condemn the unrighteous believers.

Believing by hearing only, without doing the word of truth, is judged as unbelief by God, because it's dead.

We are judged by our works, not by our faith alone. It is our faith that is judged by our works, as to whether it be of God or man. Faith is judged as unbelief by works of unrighteousness.

Believers doing dead works are judged by the Bible as dead believers. Dead believers and unbelievers alike are judged the same, without respect of persons, by their dead works.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind...

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which are doing such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.


God judges every man according to His works, whether as being righteous and justified with Him, or being unrighteous and condemned by Him. No man is judged by their beliefs alone.

The unrighteous believers and unbelievers alike, that are doing such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.


Inheriting the kingdom of God is by reward of good works in service to Jesus Christ:

No man inherits the kingdom of God by faith alone without doing the righteousness of God. The inheritance of resurrection unto life is only by reward, not by free gift.

The free gift is the faith of Jesus to do His word of truth. The reward is from Jesus to be resurrected in His likeness by doing His truth, and walking even as He walked unto the end.

Faith is the necessary means for doing well and pleasing God. Pleasing God is the justification for God to raise us from the dead unto everlasting life with God.

If God raises them doing unrighteousness unto life, then He would need repent of His judgement of the devil and the angels that sinned. Because He would be resurrecting many unrighteous children of the devil unto life.

Many of us have adopted a defeatist mentality towards sin. We think we cannot possibly stop sinning, so we've made theology that will ease our guilty conscience. Theology that says sin doesn't matter for believers and that you can't lose your salvation no matter.

I used to believe this and sin took over. But my goal now is a consistent life of righteousness before God so I can minister effectively to others.

This is not easy. But God deserves our best in resisting sin.

@Ghada, do you believe we can become perfectly sinless in the flesh? Or is it a fight between our will, and his will which the flesh and the spirit fight each other?

1) saints sinning does matter:

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever​

2) can't lose your salvation no matter what?:

Yes, many warnings, and we should strive to live holy! However,
God's Salvation Is Eternal, not 'temporary' as some propose:​

a) Because of: God's ALL-Sufficient BLOOD! ( cannot be Emphasized Enough )
ALL Of our sins are "Paid For" and:

b) All of the Following 'Eternally' apply to all true believers, saved by "Grace Through Faith":

c) Judgment Day Confirmation - 1 Corinthians 3:8-15,
"reaping what was sown"? v. 15:​

A major point and is concise of capturing the reality of ......new age religion......... teachings which began in the 1960's. Most all new editions of the Bible following that era.....are slanted to support the.... new age religion teachings. Such teachings can not be found in the christian community prior to the 1960's era.

Anyone care to list the new bible editions in the 20's,30s,1800 etc. vs ....editions since 1960's?

Agree! We're judged by our deeds/works on judgment day. faith without deeds is DEAD. faith with deeds is ALIVE. "Suppose a man is without clothes and you only say, be well! And do not offer him any clothes. Will such faith SAVE him?"! Paul in Romans was talking about we're not saved by works of the flesh but we're judged and saved by walking and doing works/deeds by the Spirit.
