Jesus said the way is narrow, and the path strait? Only be few there that find it, there are probably more people out there in need of the Lord than we can think, though America has 'in God we trust' on money, many people have an idea of God, maybe like a grandpa or something, but not really trust in God, or seek him.

But what does these things you say mean to you? Cause I dont know what you may believe anyway.

Love to you Lizbeth,
Matthew
Jesus was speaking to His own when He said broad is the way that leads to destruction and few there be that find the narrow path that leads to life. Where the OT says though the number of the Israelites be as the sands of the sea only a remnant will be saved......I believe goes for the church as well, since Israel is our example, and Jesus Himself said many will say to me on the day of judgment, "Lord, Lord, didn't we do thus and such for you." And He will say to them away from me you who work iniquity. Judgment begins with His house. It began with Israel, then it began for the church according to Israel's example/pattern...it begins even now with the chastisements we undergo as God's children....if we judge ourselves now and endure His chastisements now until the end, we will not be judged with the world. If we suffer with Him we will also reign with Him....the way of the Cross is the narrow way that leads to resurrection life through death.

Mystery Babylon refers to apostate Israel and her apostate priesthood - in bed with the world. And God's wrath was meted out by the beast that she was riding turning on her. This is an example that I believe we are to understand will happen to the apostate church as well. The world will eventually turn on the church that is in bed with the world and its false doctrines and that makes no difference between the holy and the profane/common (for example, by thinking politics is a holy war).

Hello,

The Wrath of God is and was only for the nation of Israel.

When God divorced them, in 70AD.

People have the choice to walk and live a holy life that pure and full of life, and some people may not be so close to God but they have faith and they live the way they choose.

God is just and can not be mocked
(Galatians 6:6Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor. 7 Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. 8The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.)

What we reap here now spiritually will be a blessing in the afterlife, but if you build on the fleshly here it will just die and it amounts to nothing.

Everything is done in an through the Spirit of Christ, and the Holy Spirit with credit to them for giving us the ability to have attributes that come by the Spirit given.
But we know God said His wrath is upon all ungodliness without distinction- both Jew and Gentile alike.

Romans 1:16-18
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness

Romans 5:9
Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him!

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.

Colossians 3:6
Because of these, the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.

The gospel is for all to accept and the wrath of God is for all who reject.

Okay, Lizbeth, you seem to be a very critical thinker and that is good. I am not really sure what to make out of all this however. A scripture that stands in my mind that is subjective to me, is that not go seek avenging oneself, but let the LORD be able to avenge, and maybe that has to deal with the crimes that human beings commit, in which justice is meted out here in life, as that does pertain to God wrath, but just saying God's wrath has a bad reputation around it, except in eye view of Israel for killing his son, as that was justice meted out then for them in a one time event never to happen again. So you can kind of see, where I don't believe that God's wrath abides on the nations today - as the nations then in that day would have been the surrounding nations with eye view, like when the devil brought jesus to them mountain and showed him all the 'kingdoms' of the world.

But that is just my opinion, Lizabeth with no merit to be true at all, and people need to think for themselves.

I dont believe God's wrath abides on the nation of America, Australia, and what not cause of the reconciliation of the world through Christ, and his victory. ( I explain that way I look at it in the previous paragraph).

Which also could be true or not true, would you like to share your thoughts with me? If not that is okay too, thank you for yours.

Love you,
Mathew

You fail because of your religious presumptions and assumptions...and these same errant ways you use to judge others. I never claimed to be holy. You are simply projecting your superficiality onto me.
so you are not practicing what you preach?

Oh thats right.. I forgot about that. You tell everyone else to be holy.l

It's not about critical thinking as much as letting the scriptures inform our thinking, I believe brother. I see the bible as being a spiritual book speaking spiritual things, much more than just being a book of one dimensional historical facts. So Israel being judged and suffering the wrath of God in 70 AD and the prophecies that foretold those things doesn't mean it all stops there as far as the church is concerned. We the church are to be warned and admonished by what happened to Israel lest the same thing happens to us. And the world also will be subject to wrath:

1Pe 4:17-18
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Anyway that is how I see the scriptures....a kind of prophetic (spiritual) pattern that began with Israel but applies to the church also. To the Jew first, then the Gentile. And also speaks of God's coming wrath/judgment upon the world....I mean that is what it means to be saved...the bible says "we are saved from wrath through Him" (Christ). Well I'll just leave this with you to percolate. :)

Lizbeth,

Thank you for the insightful information that you decide to share with me. There are literal and figurative takings in the scripture, there is that and also you would be right if the church exist today, and needs to be taken as the bride, which some believe is a double prophecy as I have had a conversation with a pastor before on those things, I love you for who you are, and will continue to encourage you to trust in Yahava, and in his son, and continue to share what is good and right with others as you are lead to by the spirit and that you continue to have faith even if struggles or trials come up against you my dear sister. All in Gods good timing.

All the best even in the worst, keep trusting and look to the one whom is the way, the truth, and life
Matthew

if you read the word. You would see the truth.
I suppose I would need the same kind of rose-coloured glasses you use to decode the meaning of the text to your advantage. There are thousands of ways to miss the depth of the text in the Bible. Your way of interpreting what is in truth far beyond your comprehension is just one of these.

well I am not looking to self for salvation or thinking I am more righteous or holy than I really am.

You would need the HS to help you. No glasses will help you understand anything. Might help you to read better, but thats about it

In some cases millions of ways to miss the simple meaning while seeking an esoteric one.

hope this helps !!!

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 43:2

Dearest sister where we wait, HE IS THERE.
When it seems as though all hell and it's evil are against us it shall not harm us as we shelter under his wings.
Two of my favorite verses. Be lifted in your spirit sister, press in and press towards at all costs !❤️

Under the guise of apostacy it already is turning with one mind and one heart against the lambs who will not conform
to its wordly love song . ITS GONNA GET MUCH WORSE TOO .
The golden bull , the trogan horse , the false awakening to unify the religoins and apostates within christainty
has been growing . THEY GONNA COME and COME SOON with one mind and one heart
to do the bidding and the will of what they think is GOD , and do all to rid the earth of all and any who resisted
the call of her lie to unify as one under the banner of what they think is love and God .

I certainly will not get any wisdom of God from you.
Wise words my friend . that man has long come in the name of an overseer and yet he leads folks away
from the simple FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST and unto another path , which aint gonna save one person who believes it.
IN case you have forgotten , that man is an inclusivian . Believing GOD is at work in ALL the RELIGOINS
and that one dont even have a NEED to BELEIVE ON JESUS CHRIST . Rather they can pick up they own cross
and work the works of GOD , WITHOUT FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST . That man needs to lie down , face down
in the prone and on the floor and weep , and weep sorely and pray GOD that perhaps he may be forgiven for this utter lie .
That he and so many more and now quick to accept . As for this lamb , ME IS GONNA POINT TO JESUS CHRIST ALONE .
That would include ALL his teachings . all his reminders , all the words of HIS LOVELY TRUTH .

There will always be those who feel threatened by the truth that exposes them and these as a result will resist the truth. We see that with every thread that I start, There is no wisdom against the wisdom of God. So then many will hurl all manner of abuse my way...but without any substance...just ad-hominem attacks based on foolish pride. What we don't see is any actual discussion that refutes even the smallest point I am making. It's like being in a remedial class for obstinate children.

Modern religious types cannot endure sound doctrine...as prophesied. See, modern believers are mentioned in the Bible.

2 Tim. 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

My teaching is true according to the depths of Christ. His sheep hear His voice.

By simple you mean dogmatic...what the masses are able to hear. (I will address this in the next podcast...wait for it) But God can instruct even the simple into His ways. Dumbing down the ways of God for the sake of the simple ones has succeeded in filling the pews...but not the kingdom of God. Modern believers have not known God's ways...being stiff-necked and unbroken...just like the Israelites of old. But repentance can get God's attention..and His instruction.

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

I know...sounds "esoteric" to carnal ears. :)
