I'll thank you to address the passage head-on.I'm challenging your interpretation of 1 Cor 10 as I compare to other passages.
I'll leave you to it.

The Title of the Thread is about 1 Corinthians 10, and the first post is about it, and the discussion (which you admitted you haven't read) has been about it.Not so far.
Why, in your view, does God even bother addressing the possibility of "His righteous one" drawing back (as John also warns) if it's an impossibility--especially when my understanding of the content comports with everything in the immediately preceding context?Hebrews 10:38-39 KJV
38) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39) But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
Who are the "we" who are not of them who draw back unto perdition? The writer of Hebrews said this before the end of their life. Do you realize the significance of that? Like, the statement implies that it won't happen, which agrees perfectly with John. And Paul.
Much love!
12So the one who thinks he is standing firm should be careful not to fall.
Yep, we're "saved"--and, according to 1 Corinthians 10, that's just the start of the story, not its end.So, you are trying to prove that "FALL", is "to lose eternal inheritance"..
Yet, you can't define the "FALL" as Paul didnt define it.
So, you are trying to prove you can lose your salvation, by "FALL" and then.. "there goes your inheritance".....
So the bottom line here is you misapplied Hebrews 10, and you might as well add in Hebrews 6........as you believe those verses that are talking to Hebrews, are talking to SONS of GOD... .
Ok.. well, the thing is...... Salvation, is a Gift from God. "The Gift of Salvation"..
Paul teaches in Romans 11:29... (same Paul who wrote 1 Corin 10) that "the Gifts of God are without REPENTANCE"...
This simply means that "God wont repent of a Gift given."
He wont stop it, deny it, or take it back".
This is why Philippians 1:6...
(Paul again).. says... "God is Faithful to complete the Salvation He started in You"..
Harmonize the Scriptures I've posted for you, and maybe you will see it, but I don't think you are going to receive this from me.Why, in your view, does God even bother addressing the possibility of "His righteous one" drawing back (as John also warns) if it's an impossibility--especially when my understanding of the content comports with everything in the immediately preceding context?
I trust it's clear enough that any honest reader will see my point.Harmonize the Scriptures I've posted for you, and maybe you will see it, but I don't think you are going to receive this from me.

Do you believe this passage as it is written?I trust it's clear enough that any honest reader will see my point.
I'll receive any truth from anyone, and I'll reject any incoherence from anyone--nothing is personal.
Backhanded character assasination?I trust it's clear enough that any honest reader will see my point.
Yep, we're "saved"--and, according to 1 Corinthians 10, that's just the start of the story, not its end.
When He appears, those spiritually immature, children, who, led away by idols (1 Jn 5:21), are not remaining in Him, will draw back in shame (1 Jn 2:28) unto destruction (Heb 10:39), but those who remain in Him by obeying His commands (1 Jn 3:23,24) will be conformed to His likeness.Do you believe this passage as it is written?
1 John 3:1-3 KJV
1) Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2) Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3) And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

No, I would have said "it's clear that it's true, and any reader will accept what I'm saying" but I realized there are those who hold fast to traditions, so they will reject what is plain.Backhanded character assasination?
Poor form in my opinion.
Much love!
So that's "NO"? Isn't this an example of rejecting what is plainly stated? When He appears, those spiritually immature, children, who, led away by idols (1 Jn 5:21), are not remaining in Him, will draw back in shame (1 Jn 2:28) unto destruction (Heb 10:39), but those who remain in Him by obeying His commands (1 Jn 3:23,24) will be conformed to His likeness.
For the record . . . I believe this passage EXACTLY as it is written. I neither add nor take away.Do you believe this passage as it is written?

Nope, I proved salvation was just the beginning from 1 Co 10.Salvation is the End of Salvation., but its not the end of what happens to the "Heir of God, after they die.
In other words........
Jesus is Salvation.
That's the "end of it"..... for all those who are Born again.
The best and clearest way to understand this is to recognize that the Born again : START Finished.
The born again, cant become more SAVED, more REDEEMED, because their Redemption and Salvation is JESUS Himself.
You cant "take it from there"....as He is the END., or as Jesus told you from the CROSS....>"IT is FINISHED"
A.) ""IT""", is SALVATION.. Redemption.. Justification.... = The Blood Atonement.. the NEW Covenant.
What you can do, is live a life that is sacrificially given to God, as your "reasonable service", and if you fail there, then just remember that Jesus Didnt Fail on the Cross., and His Cross provides the REASON that the born again will receive the New Body,.. the inheritance, and the "conforming into the image of Christ"..
Now there is a Judgement Seat of Christ, and that is also not related to the inheritance, but its related to this..
'"What have you done in MY BODY"...
A.) Your works will be judged, and rewards will follow, or not.
Also, you can earn CROWNS, .. and one of them is to "keep the faith".... and never lose it, never become cold or backslidden.....your entire Christian Life.
Paul also teaches this as...>"I have Kept the Faith, therefore there is laid up for me, in Heaven""... "A Crown."
That one is difficult, the most difficult, as it requires a devotion to God, that is unwavering, throughout the entire lifetime of the Believer.
Let's not be coy. You said any honest reader will see your point. I don't see it. Therefore by your words I'm a dishonest reader. You said it, own it.No, I would have said "it's clear that it's true, and any reader will accept what I'm saying" but I realized there are those who hold fast to traditions, so they will reject what is plain.
Oops, I said I did for those to whom it applies. Why did you misrepresent me? Does it concern you that you did that?So that's "NO"?
Much love!
Yes, I believe you all are being dishonest with yourselves when you reject what is plainly stated, but I don't mean it with malice.Let's not be coy. You said any honest reader will see your point. I don't see it. Therefore by your words I'm a dishonest reader. You said it, own it.
Much love!
Yeah, you do that a lot--take passages which, in context, mean the opposite of what, ripped out of context, you try to make mean something else--eg, from Heb 3, as we discussed a while back. For the record . . . I believe this passage EXACTLY as it is written. I neither add nor take away.
Much love!
Let's try again.Oops, I said I did for those to whom it applies. Why did you misrepresent me? Does it concern you that you did that?
