Well there is much truth to what you say.

but there is also a grave danger as well! for many have used "understanding" to bring in many pernicious and destructive heresies. God wrote teh Scriptures for thoise with the faith of a child can grow.

There are no hidden meanings. There are symbols and apocalyptic language but Scripture defines these as well so we do not have to rely on dreams and "new revelations" or "higher spiritual meanings". These are dangerous red flag words and all should approach those using them armed with Scripture. It is through these types of "understandings" that teh cults have been born and prosper preying on the vulnerable .

What you describe was no issue for Daniel, why is it an issue for you?

The point is--No--your idea of no "higher spiritual meaning" is against a lot of what is in the scriptures. Meaning, you have made yourself a rule. Well, good luck with that--but it's not going to work with God, or His word, or His ongoing plans.

On the contrary, the Word of God is alive and full of meaning no one person (except Christ) could even name...and He reveals it "precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little there a little" until "all truth" is known.

Believe in God, and His salvation--love God, and your neighbor as yourself.
