I would like to discuss this. I would say the difference is worldly, nice people are not walking/abiding with the source, we as Christian people have a mission to accomplish and through the Holy Spirit God will guide us and tell us things. Worldly nice people only know a part of what goodness is but Godly/Christian people know what complete love is.
One has Jesus, one doesn’t.

But knowing the written words of scripture does let us see more than those who don't know Scripture.

Matthew 22:29 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Mark 12:24 (KJV) And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
I agree absolutely in the blessing of knowing the scriptures and the need to continue reading/studying them as we are able. I cannot miss my own time spent daily in the scriptures and with God without getting into serious trouble.

I have seen that some good Bible students do not also maintain a regular personal communication with God. I did this myself years ago and was shown by God's chastisements and examples how far astray a person can go...

If we do not use all that God has given us [Bibles for certain] how can we grow? If we are in error in any part of our understanding of what we read in the scriptures, how can we be corrected? Only God gives anyone any real increase, but He does not force His Way into us. We have to be allowing Him entrance all of the time.

Give God the glory!

46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?

48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:46-48

The complete, perfect love that the nicest of worldly people don't have is unconditional love, particularly for their enemies. The defining characteristic of God's love is that it is unconditional. It is given apart from consideration of whether or not someone is pleasing to you, or deserves it, or has earned it. You'll only experience this kind of ability to love when filled with the Holy Spirit. That's why it's an experience that belongs exclusively to the Christian and why it is the signifying mark of the mature child of God.

Everyone needs the holy spirit to be able to have agape love which entails forgiveness, no keeping of wrong doings, mercy, and love for God and love for others.

It's impossible to have the holy spirit without faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

...And a lifetime of trials and struggles to teach us compassion and so walk in the power of the Spirit we have.

"We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body." 2 Corinthians 4:10-11

"...the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
We love because he first loved us. Your trials and tribulations are where God shows his love to you so you can then be a vessel of that same love and compassion to others.

Let me take some poetic license in my answer… 3 nails.

Good verses there...
