I don't recall examining my conscience as even part of prep for baptism now that you mention itWe need to keep Hebrews 9.14 in mind, about the Lord Jesus purging our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
who walks away from everything they have to followWell, exactly. Prayer and the Scriptures - and, where possible, fellowship opportunities - are the believer's life: the elements in which they live and move, habitually.
lolActually. 1380 miles. LOL (And Outer Space begins at only 62 miles.)
believe it or not the rate of expansion has exceeded the speed required for every stars light to illuminate everywhere, and a day is postulated in which the universe will be lit! Dunno how true it is, should be searchable thoThe new Jerusalem does not give light to the earth. God and Christ do.
So in eternity you believe there still will be day and night. Our space will still be dark.
look 12 k stadia is 12 k stadia for an important reason, and you're never going to be able to put an odometer on the wall I bet ok. This is describing a temple made without hands, surely. Won't come by observation, and all that

Isaiah 26:1 KJV
[1] In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
Tecarta Bible
Isaiah 60:18-22 KJVIt is a city, not a temple.
Isn’t he speaking of redeeming IsraelThat is old testament times.

Why would God hide himself behind walls?
Jesus is the vailHe isn't hiding.
His throne is fully visible in the new Jerusalem. The center of the city.
The gates never close.
Yes, in the OTemple he was hidden. God hates to look upon sin. That is why his angels report to him.
In the church we have full access to him because our spirits have been cleansed when born again. That is why the Temple vail rent.
In eternity we are glorified so God is even more open to us.
Remember, even as things are now we cannot look upon his full glory and survive.
We have an amazing eternity ahead.
Israel is redeemed at the second coming.
Here is a relative projection of what some of you think you will be living in for Eternity.
