For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Romans 1:18)
This is Part two to my previous post on "Why I Believe in the rapture". This is the Opposite side of the coin, What happens to the rest and who the rest are that will face the wrath of God.
In This Verse we see two groups of people, The first is those who are living in ungodliness and unrighteousness as is indicative of all mankind, who are living in sin and denying God.
The Second is the those who hold the Truth in unrighteousness. That is those who who know there is a God and do not deny Him, May even call themselves believers, But they have never been born again, are living in sin and are not growing in Godliness in their lives. These are the self deceived that sit in the Pews of the churches week in and week out and live their lives as they desire throughout the week.
It is within this second group that many will be shocked when the wrath of God is revealed. Paul warns:
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Be not ye therefore partakers with them. (Ephesians 5:3-7)
Yet increasingly we see teachers and leaders tolerate and even promote these things from the pulpit, or worse make excuses for the people why this is Ok, Preaching the grace of God as an excuse to living in sin and carnality.
The measure of a saint is not their perfection but their Growth in Godliness. We all fail God and His requirements for Holiness, the question is what do we do with this failure. do we wallow in it and use it as an excuse or do we use it as a motivation to turn to God, and to surrender our will to His will and to grow in Godliness.
The righteous are those who see the truth, believe the truth and seek His righteousness, Not of their own will and strength But of the work of the Holy Spirit in them. By Yielding to Him and his work in their life. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, But to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9) wrath For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, life.For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
