God didn't always "allow" them to intermarry. In fact, do you remember when God made all the Israelites divorce their pagan wives, yet support them? Something like that. I haven't read it in a while. I think it is in Judges.

"For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied." Ezra 9:2-3

Man is born dead to the things of God. To God a man remains dead until he encounters and takes hold of Life....

Taking hold of something requires life and activity, so man dead spiritually cannot possibly perform spiritual activity !

No, no, no... what Jesus said to His disciples there is not per your interpretation. You have to go back into the Old Testament scriptures to know why He said that about the deceived. Their hardening of their hearts against God's Truth started back then, and David pronounced a curse on them. See Romans 11 about that blindness God put upon them, and why.

Per 2 Peter 3:9, it is God's will that none should perish, but that all... come to repentance.

This is done to confound the wise and shame them. That the they not boast before God of their wisdom, which has no power to save them.

I have spoken to many who claim the have faith, filled with the Spirit, but miss simple parables like building your house upon the rock means obeying and following Jesus's teaching. I think on these issues we easily fall into wishful thinking, thinking that Gods word is possibly flawed and we dare not question it, in case it fails. This by its nature is actually unbelief, because the truth needs no defence, it is the truth.

I have noticed this with preachers who avoid controversial passages because they themselves do not have a resolution.
But this is how we grow in faith, admitting our weakness and letting the Lord speak to our hearts.

Each man has a glimmer given to him at natural birth. It is not the unending Life which Jesus brought, but it allows a person to see enough to reach out for more... if he will:

Notice that the verse speaks of every man born of woman. Everyone had that much, but Jesus brought Life which never needed to end...

Access to Life via the Tree was blocked because they were not ready to be what God wanted them to be. Would they ever be?

What does God take away from us as per Jesus words?

We are only stewards here and will have nothing of our own until and IF we inherit! As stewards we, each of us, has been given an allotted period of time to work at properly using all that God has provided, such as talents, education, money, opportunity, etc. Consider these stewards [husbandmen]:

"Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons" Matt 21:33-41

With proper preparation and working well with that which God has provided while it is still day ["the night cometh" from John 9:4] can we not overcome the world as did Jesus and then partake of that Tree?

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." Rev 2:7

"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." Rev 21:1

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." Rev 21:7

God wishes that all be saved. However, God has criteria for salvation, and not everyone will fulfill these criteria.

Jesus spoke these parables to all who would listen, not merely to the unbelieving Pharisees, but also to the masses that followed Him (we can envision ourselves as part of those to whom He spoke in parables). Some of those in the crowd would become believers. So, parables are not only meant for the unbeliever.

Jesus clearly had some teachings that many would misunderstand, and He clearly taught some things only to a select few. We see Jesus taking some of the disciples aside, away from the other disciples, to teach them separately. In some versions of Mark, Jesus takes Lazarus aside to teach something (we know not what). So, even some of those who were not disciples were chosen by Jesus to hear private teachings. I believe God reveals some things to some of us, but withholds some things from some of us. "Do not cast your pearls before swine." When it comes to some of God's wisdom, we can all be the swine.

I think that if certain people understood the gospel, they would still reject it but because they understood it they will be held to be more accountable on their day of judgment.

So, the Lord set forth His teaching in parables so that those who would reject the gospel might not understand it and therefore they will not be held as accountable for that information on their day of judgment.

It is, in fact, the mercy of our Lord that led Him to speak in parables so that "seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not perceive."

Hmm, good take on this subject. Yes, it would of course be His mercy. :)

I don't see it precisely as predestination as many men would define predestination, although some might. Rather I see that God truly allows each of us to ultimately make our own choice, either His Way or not. We make the choice, but God already knows, even before we do, which choice we will make. When people claim to already be saved and that they will never lose that salvation, I doubt their understanding. They may well never lose their salvation, but God only knows if that is case or not. More time is available to choose, rightly or wrongly, right up until a person runs out of his allotted time.

I remember the first time I read a parable. I knew what it meant before the explanation was given.
But Bread... that was the eye opener.
Like the Lamb IS the Glory of God,
I learned Bread is the Word of God.
And that day I was flying. I had wings. I was soaring.
That was the first pearl I found and I'll never forget it.
Sometimes those pearls just find you.. and so now I understand:

Awesome! It is so surreal when the pearls find us :) Some things just click at once and we are wowed! He is there and wants us to seek Him...we draw near to Him and He draws near to us ❤
