Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement to the public on Wednesday afternoon following the suspected hijacking incident involving a flydubai plane meant to land in Tel Aviv earlier in the day, confirming that one of the pilots had carried out a stabbing attack.
"All passengers are out of danger," Netanyahu said. "The pilot who stabbed them has been arrested and is currently being questioned by the Saudi authorities. We are in close contact with the relevant authorities to ensure the continued safety of the passengers and their safe return to Israel."
The prime minister also explained that one of the Israeli passengers broke into the cockpit along with a crewmember and managed to neutralize the threat of the attacking pilot while another crewmember stabilized the plane.

"""""We thought we wouldn’t survive,” say people who were on board. Today, passengers on a Dubai–Tel Aviv flight reportedly went through a real nightmare.
At around 9 a.m., while flying over Jordan, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 suddenly transmitted a hijacking signal and sharply descended, losing 6,000 meters of altitude in just a few minutes.
A bloody struggle reportedly broke out in the cockpit. According to media reports, one of the pilots allegedly attempted suicide and deliberately tried to crash the aircraft. The second pilot got into a physical fight with him. The captain suffered stab wounds, and the cockpit was covered in blood.
Hearing the crew’s cries from behind the door, Israeli passengers reportedly forced their way in and helped the second pilot restrain the attacker. Their clothing had traces of blood on it (photo).
The second pilot managed to regain control of the aircraft, miraculously level the plane as it was falling “like a stone,” and make an emergency landing at the airport in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
All 174 passengers, including 27 children, are alive! The aircraft is currently surrounded by Saudi military personnel and armored vehicles.
Israeli security services are reportedly investigating two possibilities: a personal conflict or a planned terrorist attack. Netanyahu is holding talks, and a reserve aircraft is being sent to pick up the passengers.
Bravo to the pilot who carried out the heroic landing, and praise to the brave and caring passengers who literally helped avert disaster with their own hands.'""""
