Perhaps to someone who doesn't have all of the Biblical facts it may seem that way, but when you consider that the method of righteousness under the New Covenant is Jesus Himself Jeremiah 23:6, then, because they draw near to Him by trusting in Him (and do not shrink back) it makes perfect sense that they would have righteousness. Does the moon have its own light? No. The more exposed to the Sun it is the more light it has.

We are right that OSAS is nonsense, but OSAS emphasizes a critical note of trust.

Again it is one of the extremes...the Truth is in the middle. Christ, John, Peter and Paul talk to the extremes.

OSAS heaven full of sinners...........................Truth..................................Hell fire and brimstone and easy loss of Salvation.
The Truth is in the middle

I believe the church congregations as seven....

The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; - Revelation 1:20 - Revelation 2:1

Ephesus - Messianic - Beginning with the Apostle to the Circumcision, Peter
Smyrna - Martyr - Beginning with the Apostle to the Un-Circumcision, Paul
Pergamos - Orthodoxy formed in this time... Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
Thyatira - Catholicism formed in this time - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
Sardis - Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
Philadelphia - Wesleyism formed in this time - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
Laodicea - Charismatic movement formed in this time - Beginning with DL Moody, the first to make money off of ministry

Candlesticks - Seven church congregations
Stars - Individuals within the congregations, all held in the right hand of Christ
Seals - The seven seals sealed each congregation within the lambs book of life

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. - Revelation 5:4

I have often thought the difference between the fifth and sixth congregations is that the Sardisean does not believe in backsliding but the Philadelphian practice it! In the article below we have a Baptist preacher speaking out against the evils of having gay drag queens in ministry at Methodist churches. The Methodist church was at one time a wonderful place!

Are you only saved when you believe (belief) and have faith on the Lord Jesus Christ?

What are you saved from? ~ All the world has been saved from their Sin - by the blood shed of Christ Jesus. ~ Are? all saved to the kingdom of Heaven?

No, they (all people ) are not saved the kingdom of heaven ? Why?

Due to the hardening of their heart in disbelief - unbelief - no faith ~ no pleasing God.

Can people who follow God have ups and downs through it's life? Even to the point of letting go of God and Jesus Christ Completely? Are they able to come back to God? Yes of course they can, but sometimes people do give up on God, and hope, and faith.

What are your thoughts about these things?

Of course people can repent more than once. But one OSASer here said unbelievers go to Heaven as long as they had previously believed. That is Satanic!

Kcnalp,

Would agree with you when it comes to scripture that it says Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except by and through (Jesus) him.

So their is a great difference between a person who is a believer in the Lord Jesus and a possible new believer who is really seeking for the truth of what the bible has to say, and what the truth is when it comes down to what the woman/man may be reading.

There is also one more thing that scripture talks about when it comes down to unbelief - KCNALP ~ In Hebrews 3:19; these Jewish people being written to who are believers in Christ ~ Are being spoken to about people who have been given the truth about the Gospel of Christ ~ and have willfully rejecting it ~ placing and putting Christ to shame because of their actions of not freely partaking in the bread of life, and the everlasting waters.

If people willfully reject the Gospel of Christ ~ My only response is to show mercy, and forgiveness and love by the spirit of Christ with-in, and pray for them. There are just so many people out here with many different backgrounds and histories.

Thank you for your response!

WHERE IS TRUTH?

But the simplest, concept is that salvation is solid as a rock for your average Christian. Your average Christian will sin and ask forgiveness and Grace will cover that. And those sins are between them and Christ. Christ was sacrificed for a plan that would be highly successful.

But your average Christian is not going to be LGBTQ.
Your average Christian is not going to make a life out of drugs.
Your average Christian is not going to be an abortion doctor or staff.
Your average Christian is not going to be a serial killer.
Your average Christian is not gong to be a child molester.
Your average Christian is not going to get involved with the occult.

For Christians, sinful lifestyles hold the most potential for a path to hell. And there are those that take the side that if you can live a sinful lifestyle.... that you were not saved to begin with. Or if you can do the most evil of sins that you were not saved to begin with.
I am on the fence on this, I think it is possible for some of the cases.

Galatians 2:16 KJV
16) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

We believe in Jesus, and we are justified by the faith OF Jesus. Genetive Case, showing possession or source. They are the same thing, faith that is from Jesus.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, He cannot deny Himself.

Much love!
I was speaking of the Meaning.....faith...in the phrase faith of Jesus.

That the possible meaning could be His faithfulness in that He lives forever to INTERCEED on our behalf.....

So if you say osas.......then what happens as you journey through this life.

Why do you need Jesus?

Since one is in a sense saying - after they believe and have heaven already......

My point is....His resurrection matters because it is with His Spirit as we are physically still here on earth that we can overcome this world. And also by which we are transformed into His image.

Here is a question for anyone....when Abraham believed God what was the seal of His righteousness?
Ok, "What MUST I do to be SAVED"?
Look at your verse, and i'll open it for you.

Notice..

This verse, :21 of Chapter 7, happens before Christ's Cross is raised. Your verse happens before The BLOOD Of JESUS is : John 3:16.

Next.

What is the "will of God". Matt 7:21,= that if you do it, you WILL enter the KOH. ?

Now, if you do that "will", you will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.., which is a literal kingdom, whereas the Kingdom of God, is a Spiritual Kingdom.

So, to enter the Heavenly Kingdom, you do the "will of God", and to enter the Kingdom of God, you do the same "will".

The will of god, is to "believe on Jesus, whom God sent".

It is the will of God that ... 1st Timothy 2:4, everyone be SAVED.

Its the will of God that "none should perish". 2nd Peter 3:9

See those?
There are more.

And all of it, all of them....= happen after Jesus is sacrificed, which is later than Matthew Chapter 7.

So, remember a key.....some verses are not speaking to Gentiles. some verses are not speaking about right then. some verses are talking about what is GOING to happen, or what will be offered later.

And remember this key, Reader.. Notice if the verse that you are using, or wondering about, happens before the Cross, or after.
And in many cases, what was said, before the Cross was raised, was said to JEWS, and in many cases, it changed, after Jesus rose from the Dead and the world entered into the "time of the Gentiles".
So, to find out those rules, you go to PAUL, who is the "gentile apostle".

Scripture is not stagnant. God is a God of progressive revelation.
God never changes, but His dealing with MAN does change.
God changes things along the way to the END, so, you have to be careful and not get stuck in what WAS, but has now been CHANGED.
It's one thing to be in the kingdom and another to be of the kingdom.

Not ALL men are Justified.
The difference between ... The Saved Forever and The Unsaved is the crux of the matter of;
OSAS.
Faith-FULLNES...is a gift from God GIVEN TO men WHO "exercise their freewill" to become MADE CONVERTED, by the Power of God....
THEY ARE KEPT in Faith-fullness BY Gods Power "IN" them.

Men who are BELIEVING, BUT have NOT, "exercised their freewill" to "CONFESS their heartful Belief".... ARE NOT CONVERTED.
They DO NOT HAVE Gods POWER "IN" them.
"Their faith / believing / continuing IS by their own "power".... and they CAN fall away.
Not done with the person having received, and after acted upon....therefore not done without you being an active participant.

Thank you for your post, yes you are right, Grailhunter.

Sin does hurt a person in their life with all those around them, and themselves, and their lifestyle which can only be changed by and the person and their decision to look towards the light of God, and learn about the Lord Jesus Christ by and through reading the Gospels, and some of the letters in the bible.

Sin can cause a believer to fall in to a harden heart of disbelief

Our Flesh (Sin) ~ Hatred of others, hurt because of experiences in life, Greed, lying, stealing, looking at someones wife, stealing someones lawnmower, murdering a human life, fighting, arguing, abusive, dark path way - darkness being blinded harden heart no light to be seen no way to see what is going on, where is the truth?

The truth of the Gospel of Christ Jesus ~ Offered eternal life, prayer life, to be loved, you are forgiven, you have peace with God through faith, your sins are all paid for, you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, growing and maturing in the spirit by and through learning from the word of God ; about the Lord Jesus Christ and God, and many other subjects that are in human life today for the most part. Our Flesh.

But now as a believer you are given a spirit by the Father, through the Son given the holy spirit which now dwell with-in you the spirit of Christ in-dwells the human being through reborn again spiritual rebirth from above through the baptism of Christ Jesus by the fire and spirit. Which the believer by choice continues to look and seek for the truth in the Lord Jesus Christ who is and been said to be ' the Light of All mankind' (John 1:4).

That darkness from above which was talked about our Flesh - starts to begin to have the light shown on it by through the spirit which is now residing with-in you by and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You are transformed into a new creation by and through continue to grow and pray and learn about God spiritually you grow with-in by the spirit that lives with-in you which is the spirit of christ/holy spirit/ and your spiritual new man - which your old man flesh ways die off as you continue to live by the spirit. Which produces love which is opposite of the flesh. (The flesh and spirit fight neverendingly ~ a choice to decide which one to live in the fleshly way, the spiritly way with Christ Jesus).

The Holy Spirit/Spirit of Christ causes fruits of love : Kindness, Gentleness, Forgiveness, Mercy, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Patience, ~ by and through faith in Christ Jesus. ~

(All of this is general knowledge of scripture but check it by the scripture cause sometimes I say things wrongly but this is a good jist of what is understood of the Gospel of Christ and the transformation of new born again believers who decide to follow after Jesus Christ. ~ )

The faithfulness of His ministry is indeed the very reason we are told to hold fast to our hope, in faith....

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Christ's ministry is able to deliver you into the kingdom of God (unlike the Levitical priesthood). So don't give up on the hope you have.
But looking at the phrase another way....
If it's the faith of Christ....what was His faith?
All we know is Jesus obeyed the Father and the father did the work.

It makes sense that if by the Spirit we put to death the flesh we shall live on...
Because we fullfill the law of God and keep His commands.....
So see Jesus obeyed the Father....and fullfilled the Law.
I hope that makes sense
