1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

This passage is Huge:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Because it tells us...that if through the Spirit we put away the deeds of the flesh we can live.
For Jesus came that He might destroy the works of the devil

So He gave up His life so that we could LIVE through His.....overcoming the snare that the Devil brought in....which was eternal seperation from God....We now can Live..

Did He say that He saved us so that we can Have heaven when we physically die and bodies are in the grave.

Or is it about Life that begins now; being a part of those alive in the kingdom?

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6

Then no one will ever be saved. Because no one can believe at death

we enter into the life of Grace now by faith and the sacraments then he who endures or remains faithful will be saved

Matthew 24:46
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Redemption, Justification, Sanctification, and Salvation!

Redemption: 100 percent the work of God, thru the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ! All mankind are redeemed in Christ! Eph 2
Galatians 2:16 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law...
Christ alone accomplished the redemption of mankind apart from any works on our part!

Justification: our acceptance of redemption thru faith and baptism! Become a disciple and member of Christ and His Church! Jn 3:5 acts 2:38 Mk 16:16 He who believes and is baptized shall be saved. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. Galatians 3:27
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Sanctification: the life of grace in the holy sacrifice of the mass and sacraments, prayer, virture, and good works, the just living by faith, and faith working thru love! Phil 1:29 called to suffer with Christ.
All done in Christ thru His grace! Jn 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Salvation: a christian in the state if grace at the moment of death we enter into the salvation of the Lord! Mt 24:44-47 faithful servant! Jn 15:1-5 abide in me. Mt 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Heb 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
Heb 4:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
Rom 13:11 ...for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

Suffering required for glorification with Christ!

Romans 8:17
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2 Timothy 2:12
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

1 Pet 3:20
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us!
(Ark of Noah a type of the church, member of Christ and his church and salvation by baptism!)
(Outside the ark all died and outside the church there is no salvation!)

The holy church is the ark of salvation!

Four Ways to “Fall From Grace” If you Add these otherwise great things to Paul’s Gospel Of Grace Plus Nothing Found in 1cor15:1-4...and claim that these things must be done to GET Saved or must be done to STAY Saved.....

Eph 4:5 one baptism
Jn 3:5 baptism

Born of God) faith and baptism

Jn 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

1 Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Can you explain how what you describe here is not one doing things to earn justification? See, we Protesters see Abraham receiving his declaration of righteousness apart from what he did and given solely on the basis of his faith in God's promise. He did not have to do anything to receive a declaration of righteousness except believe. It was given to him as a gift, not as an obligation in return for works performed.

Where in the Bible is this stipulated?

To God Be The Glory
Perhaps you didn't see his thread wherein he says in effect he's here to assail Protestants, Protestantism, because Protestantism is Heresy and we are Heritics.
Every post, every thread, is a personal attack.

When they inform the community of their agenda here, believe them.

Everyday they practice such evil, it gives them more and more to confess to. And seek forgiveness and penance, via a priest.

They're condemning themselves because they are steeped in hate and contempt.
That is not living the peace of Christ.
They want to bring us into that by making charges against our faith, so they have cause to assail us and our faith due to our efforts to correct their error.
They are not interested in correction. Their purpose is attack.

So, I ask you in this new thread: what do you believe about the new version of OSAS?

The version that says that if you stop believing, you even continue to be saved?

LoL!

Some things you have to read to believe.

I'm sorry, but I can't help but sort of lean over into the screen and laugh, LoL.

Not 'about it', but, 'with it'. Lot's of people hear the word of God, but few actually obey it, doing something with it. Once you get born again there is much in the word of God of what we are commanded to do. That's why God saved us. He saved us to raise up a nation and kingdom of people eager to do good.

I find that as time goes on and I try to obeys Paul's Command to finish my Christian Walk the “SAME WAY” that I started it— FAITH —( “ From Faith to Faith” is how Paul put it ) the Rules and Commands seem to have a way of taking care of themselves.....Faith will bring about Obedience....Obedience won’t necessarily bring about the courage and the trust to Act on God's Promises.....

Disobedience to commands will bring trouble, no doubt about it...Showing “ unbelief” and cowardice to act on the Promises Of God? That’s the way to really Anger God..

The realization that the Bible is a Book Of Promises in addition to a Book Of Rules was a very important step for me in my Christian Walk....Try concentrating on obeying God’s Promises ... showing Him you have Faith....see if anything changes .....it worked for me.....I give scant conscience effort to “ do do this and don’t do that “......I try to obey God’s beautiful Promises and just kinda “ find myself” keeping the Rules....methinks Paul was on to something when he said, “ The righteous shall LIVE BY FAITH !” ......NOT SAYING , “ The Righteous by Rule-Keeping shall live”......

Precious friend(s) my personal "osas" belief is still The SAME:

God Saves, NOT by the “merits of our works,” But, By HIS GRACE And MERCY,
By The “MERITS Of HIS Completely FINISHED WORK Of The CROSS!
Salvation is 100 Percent Free but Eternal Rewards are 100 percent Earned!

God’s Simple Will!

See you in God’s Great GloryLand! ↑ :)

I agree that the sole purpose of the creation Of Mankind ( other than to know and worship God) was for people to “love one another and carry each other’s burdens”..... the Bible Even says that is so.....where you ask ?.... somewhere in the back... lol.....

Technically speaking, however.... On this side of the Cross, we have only Two Commandments From Our Lord——
“ Believe and Love” ( 1 John2:3)
Think about it—— those two things cover it all.....

And salvation is free and irrevocable gift from God.
No one will take us from his hand. And he will never cast us out.
God's will is not overcome by us.

Did He say that He saved us so that we can Have heaven when we physically die and bodies are in the grave.

Or is it about Life that begins now; being a part of those alive in the kingdom?

God saved us for selfish reasons...it gives “ HIM” pleasure to give His “ CHILDREN” pleasure. The Universe got Lucky....Jesus went to the Cross and “ endured it’s shame” because of “ the Reward set before Him”.....Love was the Foundation Of all of this......once again I say—-we just got Lucky....

They are Definitely “ Fallen from Grace”, due to the many additions that they pile on to 1cor15:1-4 .....does that mean they are damned ? Intelligent Bible teacher disagree.....

The important question is this—— do they pass “ Paul’s Test?” Are they “ in The Faith?”
“ Nobody can sincerely say “ Jesus is Lord” without having the Holy Spirit within them” .....If you have That Spirit within you , you are a Child Of God...and you are Sealed Forever...you are Saved...without that Spirit—— “ you are NONE of His”

Plus, the Confused , EXTREMELY poorly taught and brain- washed Romanist is most usually a staunch Believer in the Resurrection Of Jesus, and whether we Protestants like it or not..the Bible says, “ If you will confess with your mouth that’ Jesus is Lord’ and Believe In your heart that God raised Him from the dead..you will be Saved...

So......they got some stuff going for them—- some BIG stuff, one must admit......I love many catholic people....it’s their Doctrine that I hate......I think that they will be Saved—- in spite of themselves and their Bible Ignorance....and lets make no mistake —- the Protestants got their “ gospel Addition” issues also... God bless...
