We are saved by grace through faith; and Christ is our righteousness; it doesn’t come from ourselves.

Romans 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”

1 Corinthians 1:30
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Notice how it is always Christ Righteousness it nothing that we do to try to make ourselves out to be perfect by our own self trying efforts it is always predicated on faith of the Lord Jesus Christ that makes us right with God.

Not us trying to make ourselves to look Good in from of God - well I am good person God I wasn’t like other people who did worse than me - Well as human beings no one is good and no one is righteous: except one and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.

The dire need for Christ is a certain; we need the Lord Jesus Christ because we aren’t good.

If you seek to worship God is spirit and in truth; you will do works by faith because of becoming loving towards God and grateful for what has done not only for you but for all people in this world; and share Christ when it is you felt Led and live by faith; and by the spirit.

Religion:
the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God

a particular system of faith and worship.

you can’t have a covenant without religion
Religion is what man owes to God for his creation and redemption

Religion is from Hell.

Religion says” Do”

Christianity says “ DONE!”

The tragedy of Christianity as that many people take True Christianity and Turn it “ into” a Religion...

The Religionist looks at the Behavior of a truly Born- Again man and “ APES” that Behavior, Blind to the fact that it is NOT the Behavior Of a Christian That Saves Him—— it is the Indwelling Holy Spirit That is “ responsible for” that behavior that is saving a man....You GET that Holy Spirit Inside Of you when you Rest in the Gospel Of Grace Plus Nothing—- 1Cor15:1-4....

If you don't have Christian works you're not a Christian! James said so! Why are you challenging James?

James 2:20 (NKJV)

20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

Dead Faith? no Rewards.

NO Faith? Damnation.

They are Not the same....Both are bad.....one is far worse than the other...

Gospel of the Good News of Christ Jesus I would say @Blood Bought 1953 but yes; grace from God is a received free gift and nothing we could ever do personally yet: to receive Christ Jesus into our hearts and place him in our lives.

I would also say that even as Christians however we still fail from time to time which keeps us humble before our creator.

Nothing we could ever do will ever please God like the Son of God who pleased the Father in heaven by doing His will.

total spiritual anarchy
No authority of Christ over his church

God is the author of religion

religion is what man owes to God for creating and redeeming him

worship
Adoration
Reparation
Thanksgiving
Petition

Catholic saying—- “ Give us a child until they are five and we’ve got them for life” ( paraphrased)

Want proof of this? You are watching it play out....Take Heart! Many are getting Saved,” despite their faith in Romanism...

Matthew 3:11 John spoke and said “As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

so where and what is this original started by Christ?

Paul speaking—- “ Follow me , as I follow Christ”

There’s as good a Starting point as anything you’ ll find in the Bible....he had to straighten Peter out more than once....you wanna follow the guy that was always Messing up and needed Correction or do you want to listen to the guy who got it right ALL of the time, after he met Jesus on the Road to Damascus..

I find these two statements by Luther to be contradictory. I agree with the first, but not the second.

"We are not made righteous by doing righteous deeds; but when we have been made righteous we do righteous deeds." LUTHER

"No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day." LUTHER

According to the first statement, is the second statement even about a Christian???

This is “shallow thinking” at its finest .

You ever hear of a thing called, “hyperbole” ? It’s a type of exaggeration used to make a point .....Luther is not “ Promoting” SIN.....he is “Praising” God ‘s Amazing Grace.....

It’s like saying ,” my boss worked me to death !”....... you don't take it literally....

Salvation is by Grace through faith

if one does not have faith (it is dead) there is no salvation.

Thats WHY there are no true works. Because the person has not been born again.

The context is faith. Not works.. James did not contradict Paul

how can a dead faith be faith. To think a dead, lifeless faith (mere belief) is equal to saving faith is confusing. How can mere belief save anyone?
Amen! In James 2:14, we read of one who says/claims he has faith but has no resulting evidential works (to evidence his claim). That is not genuine faith, but a bare profession of faith. So when James asks, "Can that faith save him?" he is saying nothing against genuine faith, but only against an empty profession of faith/dead faith. So James does not teach that we are saved "by" works. His concern is to show the reality of the faith professed by the individual (James 2:18) and demonstrate that the faith claimed (James 2:14) by the individual is genuine. Simple!

In James 2:19, we see that the demons believe "mental assent" that "there is one God,” but they do not believe in/have faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. In other words, they do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) and are not saved. Works-salvationists cannot seem to grasp this.

How can they believe the power of God in changing a person will fail? I do not get it

I think people have mixed thoughts about common faith and life transforming faith in Christ.
A child is fed regularly and has faith his mommy will feed him again.
We have faith that the sun will rise and eventually it will rain again.
We put faith in each others promises and that is where we fail at times.
Faith builds when years go by in your job and so you are confident it will be there tomorrow, but then something happens and its gone, a pandemic, a hurricane, bankruptcy.
So common faith has a level of hope and trust in people and things, life in general, even in ourselves, our health. But it is fragile at times. Its very important to see that this common faith is something we work at, it is dependent on us or others to maintain - works.
So now, being used to this fragile common faith based on works, then God comes along and gives us a faith that we can count on, for certain, without works ... therein lies the conflict. Its an adjustment, but people choose to rely on there common works formula. They aren't able to be free of that burden, they are used to it, it is part of their lives - why quit now, work for salvation too.
Just a passing thought this morning to contemplate.
Rest in Christ. He takes our burdens, He did the work, He set us free. So realize and compartmentalize the two different faiths, one fails sometimes, but the other is solid as a rock.

Because Jesus said “ If you Believe In me , you already HAVE Eternal Life , and you shall NEVER come under Condemnation....

Because Jesus said “ For God so loved the world, He gave His only Begotten Son, so that those who BELIEVE in Him would have Everlasting Life”

Because a certain Philippian Jailer was told the following when he asked what he had to do to be Saved...” BELIEVE on the Lord, Jesus Christ......”

There is more.....tons of it....

Yep

And everyone of those passage, the word believe is a living assured faith. Not just mere belief.

Even demons believe, Mere belief will not save anyone.
