OK, so you don't base your assertion on any actual evidence.
The actual evidence is that man has changed the calendar a lot.
That's a FACT.
I don't believe there will be calendar's in heaven, seeing there will be time no more.
They didn't have a calendar in the wilderness, they had to count..
day 1 day 2 day 3 day 4 day 5 day 6, no food on the lawn today, stay home. day 1 day 2 day 3 day 4 day 5 day 6 day 7..oops i forgot no food on the lawn today.
They had to learn to trust God. That on day 1 God would resume his supply.
They didn't trust him, that was the problem. Not what day they stayed home.
They was afraid that there would be no food tomorrow...

Frankly I don't believe God "used" his seventh day as a punishment for those who didn't obey.
The fact that they rather work continually with no rest was there own punishment.
They just couldn't see that God was being merciful by giving them rest.
They just come out of Egypt who kept the whips on their backs everyday.
You'd think they would of appreciated a boss that gave them a day off, with a stocked pantry.

Mercy, Trust, Reliance, kindness... God was teaching them the fruit of the spirit by using himself as an example for them to live by.
He provided food, water, their clothes didn't fall apart, he protected them from enemies.. what did they lack?

Luk 22:35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

I think the calendar became a god. And we rather obey the calendar than the lessons God was teaching the people.
God said he was trying their hearts to see if they would obey.
What lessons was he teaching?
What examples was God giving them that they should follow?
I already listed a few.. there's a whole list in Galatians chapter 5.

God told them not to bow down and worship the sun, moon stars, that he gave to everyone in the world.
They used the sun and moon and stars and lived by them..
Think about it..

The law was given because of transgression.
They rather trust their own ways than to rely on God totally.

They just was baptised going through the red sea. They was coming into the age of grace.
But they rather work, proving themselves by the works of their hands,
and so God gave them laws to make them happy.
Kind of like.. you asked for it.

So here we are today, in an age of grace once again.
But we rather work. We rather choose this is this day, that's that day.. we can do this not do that.
We judge each other, casting stones and pointing fingers.

I heard we wasn't under the law anymore..
I don't see it though..
I see people still trying to earn their salvation by keeping to traditions of men.

Now God gave man His Day to rest in. We are in that DAY.
That Day is the age of Grace.
And it's getting late, and the clock is ticking..
And when tomorrow comes, we'll all be brought back under bondage again.
Why?
Because people are STUBBORN.

You do You.
And I'll do me.
And the only thing that matters to God is while your doing you and I'm doing me, is if your heart is right with God.
It's not up to me to judge your heart, and it's not your job to judge mine.
Your not going to get any brownie points for stoning people.
Mercy, Kindness, Charity, Goodness.. this is what God is looking for.
Leave judgement to the one who knows how to wield it righteously, God himself.

Your neighbor has been given a doctor's appointment. The only day available is Saturday 9am.
Your neighbor calls you and asks you for a ride.
This is no frivilous appointment, they really need to see their doctor.
What you gonna do?

It's Sunday morning and your child fell off the swing and broke their arm.
You going to wait until tomorrow to take them to the doctor?

Do you see how unreasonable this is?
We did this, not God.

touch not taste not...

Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Col 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Col 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

So what some people see as an oppressive law they must obey,
I see it and accept it as a gift from God.
And if I use that Day to do God's will, feed the hungry, take my neighbor to the doctor, my kid to the hospital..
you think God is going to hold it against you?

I guess you could say that my actual evidence is written here:
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

My faith has more authority than the world's calendars.

Thank You
Hugs

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

What was the last thing God created before he rested?

Which for some is Saturday and others Sunday.
Only if one is unfamiliar with the numbering of the days which if there are any questions over, one could ask the Jews.....even in the face of the numbering of the days being stealthily changed around the world. Have you noticed this?

But again, what difference does it make what you call it? Call it 'Bob' and it's still the seventh day.
Some people think it's very important that Saturday be our sabbath. I'm trying to argue that it's okay for Sunday to be our sabbath.

Why would we ask the Jews?

No, I'm just asking you to prove to me that it IS the last day of the week.
Define "prove," (I guess ) because, in the legal (beyond reasonable doubt) sense, I'm not sure it's possible. However, there is overwhelming evidence to substantiate it. Why are we playing games? History testifies that the day of the week called "Saturday" is the Sabbath, which is the 7th day of the week. The only reason (in this environment) to believe otherwise is if one is trying to excuse oneself from God's requirements (which is why He has preserved the weekly cycle so well in history). :)

To prove something, show where God said it was so.

No one believes that Sunday is the Sabbath anymore. That ship has sailed (in the scholarly sense). It is scheduled to make a fierce return, though. When everything really starts to fall apart, and the Sunday law is passed in a misguided gesture to appease God, remember that the first place you heard about it was right here. :)

Again, there is no iron-clad proof. God doesn't work that way. His service requires faith based on evidence. And between history, world-wide language, and Exodus 20:8-11, there's plenty enough evidence for this poor sinner.
