Especially when they are full of symbolic Preterist teachings, relating to literal events seen@Naomi25 Some of these prophetic threads can be rather difficult to follow...
Yeah. Sometimes its just a matter of context, I think. Sometimes it can be hard to follow because…well, the post is odd. But sometimes it can be hard to follow because I have no real context to place it in and therefore struggle to understand some of the statements therein. Which means…its more my fault than theirs. I don’t mind admitting it. Sometimes it’s a little of both.@Naomi25 Some of these prophetic threads can be rather difficult to follow...
Well, on first blush, I’d have to say two things, I suppose. First…the difference between ‘spirit of antichrist’ and just a general reference to ‘many antichrist’…is not a lot. If a person HAS the spirit of antichrist, in large part, they ARE antichrist. They are just not THE antichrist, the one who ‘you have heard is coming’.
The second thing I’d say…to the comment made by Marty is…it’s a bit pedantic to try and rest the whole of an argument on the fact that the two books John wrote don’t use the same phrase, or have exact parameters.
I think we need to take all the information into account. First, I’d say 1 John, while inspired, is clearly a book written by John, in John’s hand, expressing things as John would. Revelation is, from the beginning to the end, made clear to us, the Revelation of Jesus Christ. John is simply writing down what he sees and hears. The words, the pictures…are not his. He is seeing heavenly realities, which we may expect to differ from how John interpreted the inspired moving of the Spirit as he wrote his book.
The second thing I’d say is…when we correlate ALL information about this ‘end of days’ figure…what do we see then? Paul’s outline in 2 Thess 2 correlates closely to much of Daniel. Daniel is seen again, like it has cast its shadow, in Revelation. And 1 John 2 absolutely affirms that, just as both Daniel and 2 Thess 2, that we may expect this figure to arise in the future. Put together, it paints a picture….no matter the terms used for this individual. The characteristics seen within him are clear.
In Daniel 9:27, who do you see as being the desolate?
Scripture strongly suggest the "Future" image of the beast being set up is the abomination that makes desolate?
Daniel 12:9-13KJV
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Revelation 13:13-15KJV
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Big Smiles Marty, as you wiggle your post into Johns (The Antichrist)Both the antichrist and the beast have different descriptions and different purposes
There are actually 2 “beasts” mentioned in Revelation 13.
Here's the first beast: (describes what the structure of the New World Order will look like after Satan [the dragon] is cast out of heaven)
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
[2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Here’s the second beast:
Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:
he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

The “sea” in Revelation 13:1 is the people of the earth from which the political system arises.
I disagree that the beast represents a "Political System', the beast that rises out of the sea or multitudes of people will be a literal individual human man, and is described with (Personal Pronouns) He, His, Him- - Continued from above….
The “sea” in Revelation 13:1 is the people of the earth from which the political system arises.
Rev. 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
And the ten horns are ten kings under the authority of Satan.
Daniel 7:24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: ...
Rev. 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Revelation 13:1-8KJV
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
"Yes we will respectfully disagree" that the beast represents a "Political System'The first beast is a political system which must be wounded before the second beast can take power. This "deadly wound" is spoken of in Revelation 13:3, and is going to be a wound to the political beast of this end time. The second beast is Satan, the false-christ, and his wounding will take place when Jesus Christ returns at the seventh trump.
Rev 13:1 "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy."
This beast that rose out of the peoples of the world, came from all the seven continents of the world and will come from seven entities of power and those men or entities of power will rule over this one world system. This one-world system will stand against that which we know to be true Christianity from God's Word. It will be against the teaching of Jesus Christ. This blasphemy will be world wide. This particular beast that rose from this “water” is not a entity/person, but it has many heads, or agencies, that will each govern their own area. This beast is a one-world political system that is already being formed today. This political beast will take in all seven continents of this world for the sole purpose of blaspheming and leading the people away from the true God.
Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

Well, sure…maybe. Except…those times when Preterists would point to a ‘literal’ event as a fulfilment…and Dispensationalists would say ‘no…a “true” literal fulfilment is pushing it off to some future event’.Especially when they are full of symbolic Preterist teachings, relating to literal events seen
You should take a look at this video...interesting...very interestingJust consider that some of the verses you posted above refer to the first beast (the one-world system) and some to the second beast (the dragon). If you don’t see it this way, no problem; we’ll just agree to disagree.

There it is—one-worldism (ecumenicalism). Then their false peace and hope leaves people wide open for the deception that is coming upon the whole earth when Satan arrives at the sixth trump while Christ isn't returning until the seventh trump. Yeah, this “peace, peace but there is no peace” is already present all around us today, all this preparing the way for the false christ. I think it won’t be long now. jbYou should take a look at this video...interesting...very interesting
With some men all they can see is death, destruction, and evil. They eat the fruit of it.
Many are awaiting a bodily return Of Christ. We are the body of Christ, if within us, from where does He return?
