No one lives without sin. No one is perfect either

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
No one is perfect. But living without intentional sin is not as difficult as it is regularly made out to be.

Yes, we all have sins from prior to being saved. That is a given.

Again, unintentional sin, slipping, stumbling, James 3:2 - is fairly common, but it is not even close to impossible for those who wholeheartedly commit themselves to endeavoring not to intentionally sin.

What sin is impossible to avoid? We can take 'em one at a time.

This is NEWS to a great many Christians. So, let's discuss.

Perhaps you should read (Matthew 25) again, there is on the left side and the right side of God. One goes to death the second death and the other to eternal life:

Romans 6:23

King James Version

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:...41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
You need to read our entire exchange again, and take note that you only listed specific verses in Matthew 25 initially, not the entire chapter. Nothing that you are posting contradicts anything I have said.
@GEN2REV
“All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”
Ok??

And obeying, and following, the Commandments of God is Righteousness. What's your point?

All sin is the disobeying of the Commandments of God. 1 John 3:4

Are you arguing with me or with God's Word?

I don't consider someone's perfection. I just know that when I sin, trouble enters my life, so I try not to sin.
Amen.

And the only way one comes to know this is if they are striving not to sin.

If they, like so many Christians today, are taught that it is impossible not to sin, most never even attempt to live without it.

It is very sad, not just because it is woefully untrue, but because so many are missing out on the blessings that come from striving to live without sin.

For instance, fasting is one practice that teaches you how much you can actually live without that you'd never have imagined being capable of living without. How many Christians actually make an effort to do this?

Fasting not only super-charges your prayer life, but does unmeasured wonders for your body and mind.

Incidentally, the sin of homosexuality...is more importantly against God. To go against God's direction that "a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh", is a commandment regarding the bride and the Bridegroom. Which is to say, if it is not followed accordingly (as a man and his wife, a man and a woman), the meaning of a man with a man or a woman with a woman, is to become one without God. Such life decisions need not be forever...but they might be.
Actually, it is a sin against mankind as well.

The homosexual lifestyle has been proven extensively, medically and psychologically, to be very unhealthy for the body and mind of men and women who choose to live this way.

There are extensive studies that have been done, and well-recorded statistics, that, if made widely available and released into the mainstream news/media, would help a majority of those who are encouraged to embrace this lifestyle to avoid it based on that information alone, all religious or Biblical discouragement aside.

Many are encouraged by modern trends, movies, social media, etc. to embrace something that they discover is not at all what they were led to believe it would be once they have lived that way for a while.

All of God's Commandments are for our good as well, not just a test of obedience.

Might I suggest that God has allowed it, first, because it is the manifestation of real sin brought to light. But also, that it is for a sign, that sign that He promised regarding-- the rainbow. For which one might ask, and should ask, "Why now?"
And isn't it interesting that the rainbow occurs in the Bible right before the horrible event between Ham and his father Noah?

I suppose there are sins and there are sins. If I pick my nose at the table of those I've been invited to, is God going to view me poorly?
Here we go, we could go on forever classifying various categories of what is deemed sin followed by the favourite pastime of judging those who don't fall into our approved categories of 'righteousness'

Consider this; if God forgives and there is only one sin that can't be forgiven, we need to figure out which one it is and why it can't be forgiven. Could it be picking my nose at the dinner table? Let's get serious; what is it he can't forgive?

.....to use a simple illustration; if you said to me, righto qt, all those pesky comments you make that get up my nose like acrid smoke, all those smelly attitudes you have that you keep secret, all that pretended piety you engage in; I tell you what, I'm gonna wipe the slate and invite you to my u beaut party where we can sing and dance to music you never heard the likes of and enjoy the company of special guests..... and I said to you, you can shove your party and your pretended generosity where the sun don't shine.

I suppose there's not much more you can do.....all your goodwill is regarded as worthless. Your goodwill is not even believed.

Soooo, it's not possible for me to take advantage of your generosity not because you are not generous but because I simply don't believe it and subsequently don't want it. Maybe somebody has got in my ear and told me lies about you and I've believed those lies.

That is how it is with God. The Spirit knocks on the door of my heart bringing forgiveness and unprecedented generosity and it is cast to the ground!

It wasn't my intention to suggest that it was just a matter of obedience. But rather a deviation from God's command for mankind to portray His intentions for mankind, as being one with God ask Christ with the church.

Similar roles are given for men to portray the Head of the church, and for women to be silent in church. It has nothing to do with the sexes, but nonetheless is the reason He created us male and female.

But some of us can't fast because we have low blood sugar and would get very sick.

Homosexuality is certainly among the most grievous of sins, more than most, because it is directly against God.

But, what I was hoping to convey, is that sins are the same to God in one respect (that being a death sentence), but different in the judgment. As for us, we do look at them different also, as we should. But because sin and salvation is in God's hands, we can only hold His standard so tightly or run the risk of interfering. Stand against, speak against, answer against, but be careful of overstepping what and why God has allowed it to be so prevalent.

Might I suggest that God has allowed it, first, because it is the manifestation of real sin brought to light. But also, that it is for a sign, that sign that He promised regarding-- the rainbow. For which one might ask, and should ask, "Why now?"
Perhaps the Lord wants us to learn how sin destroys our lives.

Where did you say it the first time?

You certainly shouldn't have repeated such an ugly thing to say on a Christian Discussion Forum.

Only Jesus was perfect .....to say that “ you” are His equal in that regard ? Now THAT is an ugly thing to say.....not to mention ignorant and proof of being deceived.....sorry.....sometimes the Truth hurts....

You try to shame people into believing they can't live up to God's Commandments.

YOU are the one that is shameful.

God commands that we strive for perfection, that we emulate His Son and walk just as He did. If that's not of interest to you, speak for yourself.

Every Christian who loves Jesus and has His Spirit is 100% capable of leaving ANY and ALL sin in their past. If you cannot, that is an indication of YOUR sincerity in the faith. Not others'.

How you doing with the “ Sins Of Omission?”........I bet you had some spare time today.....why were you not helping out at the hospital or local food bank.....how many strangers did you invite into your home to feed and clothe ? There were many good things you could have done today , yet you chose to ignore them....that’s Sinful.....

Like everybody else, you had thoughts today that would shame Hell itself.....why just not admit that you are a Sinner That needs Grace? Pride perhaps? Lousy teaching?

Every single Commandment can be kept via the Holy Spirit's assistance. That is one of the most important reasons Jesus sent Him into our hearts. That and the discernment of His Word and spiritual things.

You nor anybody else can even keep the First and Most Important Commandment! Can you honestly say that you love God with ALL of your heart , ALL Of your Soul , and ALL of your mind? Of course not......get Saved God’s Way.....Grace Plus Nothing.....Given to all that Rest in the Gospel Of Grace—- 1Cor15:1-4.....

No, those aren't the two commandments. They are to love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:34-40).

After the Cross it’s 1John3:23——-“Believe and Love” .....you need to get yourself familiar with the new and improved deal.....

. . . and this is His command, that we may believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and may love one another, even as He did give command to us,

Much love!

I have had to start from the beginning on these posts.....I am responding to some posts having not read yours first....sorry for any and all duplications....

When considering someone's perfection you can read the scriptures on the subject:

Matthew 19:17-21

New King James Version

17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

18 He said to Him, “Which ones?”

Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ 19 ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

20 The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Have YOU sold everything you own and given it to the poor? Why should YOU be any different than this poor guy? I haven’t given away a fraction of my possessions, yet God sees me as “ Perfect” ....why? I followed His Orders.....I merely “ Believed on the One that He sent”.....I prove it by Resting in the Gospel Of Grace—— 1Cor15:1-4.....

True sin is hurting somebody —— and liking it.....I’ll take a homosexual that knows how to be kind to others over somebody with a mean spirit anytime.....

#1. You don't have a clue what I did with my day.

#2. You couldn't be more wrong about my thoughts today.

#3. The very fact that you insist all humans live each day as you described in this post is an indication of how depraved, and far from God, you are.

That's a shame.

Another reason why it's so important for Christians to study their Bibles daily. A brief conversation with somebody like you could destroy their faith in Christianity. And, sadly, it's people like you who have destroyed many people's faith with your shallow opinions of the Power of the Holy Spirit in a Christian's life. Often it is the young Christians whose faith is drowned out by Professors of Theology and Pastors and Preachers in positions of perceived authority who have no measure of true faith at all.

You're welcome to go on living in habitual sin. You have no faith that sin can ever be overcome - just like the vast majority of Christendom.

Do you know where God says the vast majority of Christendom will end up?
