Christians do not keep ANY of the old law of Moses.
We do not keep any of the ten commandments today.

Hebrews 8:12-13
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.
In that He says, A new covenant, He has made the first obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

The only law that is binding today is the law of Christ,
Galatians 6:2
Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.

No one can bind the old law on christians today,
Colossians 2:16
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths.

Paul taught us that the old law ie handwriting of ordinances.... Christ has removed this first covenant when He died on the cross, having established a second and final covenant that all are under today.

Colossians 2:14
Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

We do not murder as an example because of the ten commandments.
We do not murder today because Christ's law commands us not to,

1John 3:15
Whoever hates His brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

repentance isnt a one time thing. But no one can stop sinning 100%. Sanctification is a process where you do sin less over time, but you cant reach a point in this life where you are completely over sinning. So how often should you repent? Thats a question that’ll get you 100000 different answers. Also, sanctification isnt complete all at once. In other words, the Holy Spirit wont reveal all of your sinfulness at once, it would kill you to have that placed on you all at once. We read this happening in the OT, in Isaiah, as well as david in psalms.

"28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:28

See it yet? ↑↑↑

BB1953, in your doctrine Jesus is just as sinful as the rest of us, lol, since you equate temptation with actually sinning. Here, read this and get your head on straight about this. ↓↓↓

What Jesus was showing them is they were not the law keepers they thought they were. For the law also says to not covet your neighbor's wife, not just 'don't commit adultery' with her. They kept the laws governing the outside of a man, but failed miserably at the laws that governed the inside of a man. And so he was exposing their unrighteousness that way, not by making new, more righteous laws as is popularly taught in the church.

We disagree on this matter.....who cares?....the POINT Of the Sermon on the Mount where these things were discussed , is that Jesus was showing them they ( and ESPECIALLY the Self - Righteous Pharisees) were Sinners—- Sinners that needed a Savior...... do we agree on “ that?”..... Do you agree that He was trying to puncture their Self- Righteous Balloons? The goal was to get them to the same mind-frame that the wicked Publican had....They were in dire need of a Contrite Heart that would lead them to do as that sinful tax collector did —— get on their knees and cry out as he did—- “ Lord, have Mercy on me a Sinner!” ..... THAT is the “ turning to God ” that will save a man.... “TURN to Me ( the Repentance That actually Saves a Lost Soul) and I will TURN to you....

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15

“if you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Makes me think of
2 Corinthians 13:5-7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that you should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

what are His commandments?

Did the Lord give us commandments that can't be obeyed?

You had better *BELIEVE* it! Nobody even obeys the First Commandment which is to LOVE GOD with ALL of your heart, with ALL of your Soul and ALL of your mind .....you also don’t love your neighbor NEAR as much as you love yourself....best get ya some Grace...it’s the only way out of this mess ....simply Believe the Gospel ....make sure you believe it enough to REST in it....if you don’t, God says that you are Disobedient and guilty of UNBELIEF.....serious stuff.....

you misunderstand, repentance means more than just confessing sin, it means to turn from it. Repentance is necessary to being born again.
I honestly dont understand how you can think that you dont sin. Isaiah saw the Kingdom, and was shaken to his core as he realized how sinful he was. David not repenting caused his bones to ache he said. You clearly dont get what a totally depraved person you really are. Everyone is depraved, and i dont mean a little bit messy, i mean totally depraved. If you cant understand that, im not sure what else to tell you. Read isaiah 6.

Brilliant ......sounds a lot like “ me”..... lol....I would only add that I do not do Murder because I do not WANT to....that’s pretty much the secret of ALL sin avoidance .....I am a FREE MAN in CHRIST.....I do what I want to do....
Since God gave me a NEW NATURE with a NEW HEART , my “ Wants” have dramatically been changed (could it be that “ inside of the cup” thingy that Jesus mentioned?) Yes , all you Legalists out there can get the knot out of your panties—- I do what I “ want” , but what exactly do I “want” now that I am Born Again? .....it’s simple —— I just want to please my Heavenly Father....I’m a big Believer in the Truth Of the following quote.....it’s the Ultimate in “ Spiritual Meat” That Milk Drinkers will not comprehend —- “ Love God and live as You please” .....If one Really “Loves God” , the Sin Problem might just take care of itself....it seems to be working for me......the less I worry about sin , the better job I do when it comes to getting it out of my life.....Ain’t Christianity Wild?

That means some laws simply do not have to be literally fulfilled by us anymore. Christ having fulfilled the righteous requirements of those various laws one time for all time such that no further literal action on our part is required.
Yet you fulfill them. All NINE of them you literally fulfill.

So, what's your point?

You literally keep NINE of the Ten Commandments.

When we sin, trouble enters our lives. It makes sense to me, therefore, that we should stop sinning. In other words, it makes sense to me that we should obey all ten commandments.
It makes perfect sense to them, too.

They'd just rather die than admit it.

And die they will if they do not repent.

I love what God loves and hate what God hates.

And God hates liars.

They are of their father, the devil - the father of lies himself.

Obviously you're not familiar with John 3:16-17, " For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him. " NET

This really makes you look silly.

So, tell us ... which of these do you not keep?

1. Only worship God
2. Don't worship demons
3. Don't use God's name in vain
5. Honor parents
6. Don't murder
7. No adultery
8. Don't steal
9. Don't lie
10. Don't covet

(Failure to answer is admission that you keep ALL of them.)

I'm familiar with every verse, but you've clearly chosen to ignore, and forget, this passage.

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the Truth, because there is no Truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own (children): for he is a liar and the father of it (them). ... He that is of God heareth God's Words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God."
John 8:44

Not just “some” ——- it’s “ NONE” ....Jesus left us with just TWO Commandments —- “Believe and Love” .....He also left us with just ONE LAW—- “ The LAW of CHRIST”—- “ Take on the Burdens Of others”
You're wacky.

So Christ didn't die on the Cross, His Blood did?

Christ didn't achieve a life of sinless perfection, His Blood did?

It's not Christ that's king of our hearts, and has power and dominion over all flesh, it's His Blood?

Where do you come up with this stuff?

Where do I come up with stuff? Allow me to show you , oh ignorant one ....

“The BLOOD of Jesus CLEANSES US from All Sin”

“Without the Shedding Of BLOOD, there is NO FORGIVENESS of Sins”

“ All Glory to Jesus who has freed us from Sin by SHEDDING HIS BLOOD for us”

Need more? I got plenty.....

God warns us to be good students of His Word lest we “ stand Ashamed” .....The Value Of The Blood Of Jesus is Christianity 101 and you have failed the class in front of an on- looking world.....you “ stand ashamed” whether you know it or not....your Biblical Ignorance is amazing...
