Acts 8:35 . .Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same
scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

However; not everyone is endowed with the ability to do what Philip did. And
those who aren't should not attempt it. (Eph 4:11, 1Cor 12:4-11, Jas 3:1)
_
Well then, if you do not have the Fire of the Holy Spirit you just should not speak.

If you have not given yourself to know the Scripture under the Tutelage of the Holy Spirit, then you would do well to listen to those who have.

And ALWAYS keep this in your heart and mind from the Master: "you have not chosen ME, but I have chosen you."

And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.

God gives what man can never earn
Christ chooses the weak, the despised and babes
the Holy Spirit of Truth is not found in buildings made with men's hands
nor is HE given to men who seek the approval from men

Beware the harlots den at all costs . come not nigh her chambers for within are the dead who know not they are dead .
And her steps lead down to hell .
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

"Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.
At that time, however, the son born by the flesh persecuted the son born by the Spirit.
It is the same now."

I suggest not suggesting your friend read certain portions of the Bible
because not everyone reading it is enlightened by it; for example:

Acts 8:30-31 . . Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the
prophet Isaiah; so he asked, "Do you understand what you are reading?"
The man replied, "How can I, when there is no one to instruct me?"

The man with whom Philip dialogued wasn't some obscure cobalt miner in
the Democratic Republic of Congo nor an illiterate cow poke herding beef in
Montana. The man was high up in the government of Ethiopia; so it's likely
he had an above-average IQ, and yet without someone to help him, he was
stumped by Isa 53:7-8.
_
Imagine that! An educated Bible reader seeking instructions from a man in authority! It's just the opposite of the Protestant Principle of Private Judgement!

Private Judgment and the Rise of Relativism

Sola Scriptura and Private Judgement

Except that it is not "private judgment"! As usual that is a false Catholic accusation to deflect from their own "popish Romanism". The Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles plainly taught that under the guidance and anointing of God the Holy Spirit, the children of God would be led into ALL TRUTH. You can either believe it or disbelieve, but you cannot change what is stated in Scripture.

Hello Enoch,

Indeed we do believe that! It is for that very reason that we cannot abandon what the Spirit has revealed to our brothers and sisters who have gone before us..

Then provide your own private definition of the Principle of Private Judgment because according to the generally accepted definition, each individual changes what is stated in Scripture according to his own opinions, leading to the dictatorship of relativism. I'm sorry the content of the links I posted don't fit on a T shirt. ""popish Romanism" is just lashing out from laziness. The Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles plainly taught that under the guidance and anointing of God the Holy Spirit, the children of God would be led into ALL TRUTH. THAT is an unchanging Catholic teaching, modified by the resulting chaos of the Principle of Private Judgement.

Again, define the Principle of Private Judgment, and defend it with reason. You can't or won't do that because you may have to actually read something that is deeper than your shallow carnival barking.

WATER is the means prescribed by Jesus (John 3:5).

Born of Water, is a NATURAL Birth, effected by a mans seed.
Born of Spirit, is a SUPERNATURAL Birth, effected by Gods SEED.

Both Births (Natural and Supernatural) ARE REQUIRED according to Gods Order and Way BEFORE a man can ENTER into the kingdom of God.

John 3:
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

A satirical meme indicating the stupidity of sola scriptura
and the anti-biblical Principle of Private Judgement.

Private judgement is simply individuals deciding what they do and do not like;
Foods, People, Behaviors, Music, Jobs, Clothing, Vehicles, Neighborhood:
no big deal, everyone does that.

Private “interpretation” of what Scripture “MEANS”;
IS Men deciding with their Carnal Minds what is the Spiritual Meaning of Gods Word.
(And no doubt SOME denominations go to great lengths explaining away their concluded Carnal Minded interpretations.)
* Sometimes its a Council of ONE man, (ex. Jim Jones, David Koresh,) starting a hair brained congregation.
* Sometimes its a Council of of a FEW men....(ex. Catholics, Protestants)
Regardless of it being ONE or a FEW...they, behind the scenes Council together, Setting the stage and paperwork FOR WHAT their “congregates” MUST agree with, to BE an accepted member of “their” congregation.

The Lord God IS the ONLY “interpreter” of His Word.
And any man who Receives God “interpretation” of His Word, is a man who has “gained” Gods Spiritual Understanding.

Paul and Timothy learned about HOW to gain “spiritual understanding” and prayed for others to gain...Spiritual Understanding.

Col 1:
[9] For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

And BTW that is a funny thing to say....God wants no separation between Catholics and Protestants ... While also posting Believing the Written Word of God (sola Scriptura is STUPID)....
Just what do you use to VERIFY what someone says IS Scriptural?
STUPID Catechism ?

The gov does a pretty good job of taking care of the poor amigo. Churches don't do it.

But the church takes care of church members. I don't think the original church as spelled out in the bible said to take care of drug addicts that were homeless.

The “poor”, as do many Scriptural words have duel meanings.
Yes there will always be ... the “poor”...

Poor as the world ”measures men by wealth and possessions”...
Poor in spirit as I would say, “God measures men”.

Glory to God,

The RCC's method of baptism is sprinkling infants on their forehead. Baptized into the church, typically, before the individual is consciously aware of what belief in Christ means.

The RCC's method of baptism is sprinkling infants on their forehead.
“But concerning baptism, thus shall ye baptize. Having first recited all these things, baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit in living water. But if thou hast not living water, then baptize in other water; And if thou art not able in cold, then in warm. But if thou hast neither, then pour water on the head thrice in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let him that baptizeth and him that is baptized fast, and any other also who are able; And thou shalt order him that is baptized to fast a day or two before.” Didache 7:1-4 (c. 60-100 AD)

The precise method is not in the Bible. It's explained (not invented) as early as 90 A.D., when the Apostle John was still alive. If the Didache is wrong, why is there no record of anyone objecting to it for 17 centuries??? The method used by the CC hasn't changed for 2000 years. BTW, total immersion is an acceptable method in the CC, it isn't common because it isn't practical. Protestant trinitarian baptisms are accepted as valid by the CC.
Baptized into the church, typically, before the individual is consciously aware of what belief in Christ means.
Because Original Sin is not committed by a conscious choice, therefore it can be removed without a conscious choice.

There is no Bible verse that says, “Baptize infants” (just as there is no Bible verse that says, “Do not baptize infants”). But, yes, I can give you a Bible verse on infant baptism if you understand that the Church’s teaching on this subject flows from the Church’s teachings on original sin and the sacrament of baptism.
In this article, I will focus on explaining, from the Bible, the Church’s teaching on original sin to help us understand the Church’s teachings on baptism. Most non-Catholics don’t care about what the pope says or what the Catechism says or what Vatican II says. They want to know: “Where is that in the Bible?”

There are hundreds, if not thousands of denominations all claiming to be this one true church

Actually, very few denominations that I know of claim to be the one true denomination.

I'm one of the biggest advocates at CyB for denomination. I see it as a wonderful flowering of the Holy Spirit so much greater than any other religion in compliance to 1 Corinthians 9:22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

Also, I see denomination more of a difference in focus. Too many Christians make knowledge and doctrine into IDOLATRY. We aren't saved by our doctrines and there is no doctrinal purity test outside of Romans 10:9. Let's face it. Most people go to a church that is close, not because of their doctrinal alignment.

Those of the early church bore no denominational names, but were simply identified by their location.
I think a nice distinction is to say we belong to one church of Jesus Christ with many congregations.

Thousands of "Christian" churches that believe drastically differently! Satan has been busy! For instance, we constantly see trained Satan's puppets here trying to rewrite our Bible. I.E, attacking Jesus God and "the everlasting fire".

2 Corinthians 11
14 Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
