15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.

So, through Jesus our sin can be forgiven.

The Spirit brings life..

Brought from Death to Life

Jesus was saying that every person without the outpoured Spirit from above is spiritually dead like the dry bones and cannot even see the Kingdom of God. In other words, a person without God’s Holy Spirit is purely “flesh” and has no spiritual eyes, ears or heart to see, hear and comprehend the message that Jesus came to bring. The Lord told Nicodemus unequivocally, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6). Only the Spirit of the living God can take dry bones, dead in trespasses and rebellion against God, and make them spiritually alive (Ephesians 2:1-5). The Spirit is like the wind that blows wherever he wishes (John 3:8), so we are absolutely dependent on the Holy Spirit to blow upon dead people to make them alive.

So, it’s the Spirit of God that brings us Alive...Amen!!

The difference between the spirit (breath of life) given mankind and animals WAS in the beginning the ability to communicate with God.

Animals communicate with their Creator.

They have no sin, separating them from Him.

This is why they perform their rituals, and even the Birdsong is giving praise to the Almighty.

You should go into a forest in the Spring, and listen to the Birds singing their praise to God as the sun is beginning to rise.

Are you familiar with St. Francis?

He would walk long distances, and find some casual village, and go into the center of it, and start singing very loudly, His praise to Father God.
Soon, the people would come out of their little huts, and listen and often join him.

And animals, would come and surround St Francis, as his anointing was so powerful that animals would come just to be around Him.

Animals know the Spirit of God..
Believe it.

Numbers 22:28-30

King James Version

28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
29 And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
30 And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? and he said, Nay

I would say God has endowed animals with abilities that bring Him glory, but they do not have a conscience knowledge/understanding of their Creator. Animals know only that which comes naturally from God to them. The only way to know the Spirit of God from the fall is to have the Spirit of God with them of Old, or since Christ sent Him in us. And that only by grace through faith.

Interpret the scripture...instead of posting reams and reams of it?

A child could post scripture as you keep doing.
You mean like you just did with Romans 5:12-21? Taking me to task for what you just did -- that is rich.
Romans 5:12-21

12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
13 Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break.
14 Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come.
15 But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
16 And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins.
17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.
19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
20 God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.
21 So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Your dog could not have physical life without spirit. The spirit is the breath of life that every living breathing creature has to give their body physical life. The animal kingdom possesses a spirit or breath of life just as humankind also does.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 7:22-23 (KJV) All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth:
and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Because it is the spirit that gives life, the flesh has not life without spirit (breath of life). Natural spirit that every living breathing thing upon the earth gives physical life. And the Holy Spirit from Christ, gives spiritual life to only living mankind because man alone is given eternal life when they are born again of the Spirit. Animals possess only a natural spirit, giving physical life to their body, animals will never have eternal life through the Spirit of Christ because animals shall never have eternal spiritual life.

John 6:63 (KJV) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature (Hebrew -nephesh) that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
Gen 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature (Hebrew -nephesh) that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul
(Hebrew -nephesh)

From Strong's

H5315
נֶפֶשׁ
nephesh
neh'-fesh
From H5314; properly a breathing creature, that is, animal or (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental): - any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, X dead (-ly), desire, X [dis-] contented, X fish, ghost, + greedy, he, heart (-y), (hath, X jeopardy of) life (X in jeopardy), lust, man, me, mind, mortality, one, own, person, pleasure, (her-, him-, my-, thy-) self, them (your) -selves, + slay, soul, + tablet, they, thing, (X she) will, X would have it.

We see there that nephesh, translated as creature or soul is attributed to both man and animals. The Hebrew word most often translated spirit is "ruach".

From Stong's

H7307
רוּחַ
rûach
roo'-akh
From H7306; wind; by resemblance breath, that is, a sensible (or even violent) exhalation; figuratively life, anger, unsubstantiality; by extension a region of the sky; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions): - air, anger, blast, breath, X cool, courage, mind, X quarter, X side, spirit ([-ual]), tempest, X vain, ([whirl-]) wind (-y).

Now I realize there is more to the story than that, but basically the word soul is applied to the entire animal kingdom, including man; while the word spirit is applied to God and to mankind. The animal is a living creature, a soul. it has a body of flesh. Mankind is also a living creature, he has a body of flesh and a spirit.

Now it turns out that as you read the scriptures you will find that when speaking of mankind, the human being, the words soul and spirit are used interchangeably.

There is another Hebrew word that occurs when speaking, for example, of the breath of life in Genesis 2:7. That word is "neshamah".

From Strong's

H5397
נְשָׁמָה
neshâmâh
nesh-aw-maw'
From H5395; a puff, that is, wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect or (concretely) an animal: - blast, (that) breath (-eth), inspiration, soul, spirit.

That, as indicated can mean soul or spirit, but it is most often used in connection with the actual breath or the breathing function.

So then, for me, it is not a cut and dried issue, but given all of the above, I will repeat - I am a soul, a living creature, I have a body and a spirit. My dog is a soul, a living creature. He has a body. He is not a rational being with a spirit.

An animal imo, must only have a soul, because an animal isn’t Born Again is it?

Therefore will not be in the Kingdom of God.....

It does say in God’s word that only a Born Again will see the Kingdom of God.

I have a body, which houses the Holy Spirit.....I’m still confused about my soul, God says we are to love him with our heart ,mind and soul.....help me understand this @Behold ?

The Soul

The soul is the seat of all affections.
The Hebrew term for soul is “nephesh” and it is found more than 780 times in the Old Testament. We read in Genesis 2:27 that man not only has a living soul; he is a living soul. It is the immaterial part of man midway between the body and the spirit, yet it is not a mixture of the two, though at times it seems to take on characteristics of one or the other.

The soul is self-consciousness; it stands for the individual, personal life. The ingredients which make us human beings belong to the soul. The intellect, thought, ideals, love, emotion, understanding, decision, choice and other like qualities are all associated with the soul. In other words, the soul is also the seat of all affections and Satan knows this very well that is why he operates making his appeal to the affections and emotions of man.

*Read here how to love the Lord with all your soul: The Greatest Commandment of God

It is the soul of man that Jesus died to redeem on the cross (Hebrews 10:39; Psalm 49:8). But the soul is never directed towards God until after the spirit has become regenerated. Man is not able to love God or the things of God until he is born from above.

Man’s desires and affections are turned toward God when he realizes his sinful condition and accepts God’s gift of salvation. But even though we have died to sin and been raised to life through Christ, our souls still need to be transformed and purified by the washing of the word (Ephesians 5:26).

Unlike the body, the soul cannot be destroyed by physical death but lives on beyond the grave. The soul does not die when the body dies because Jesus said to not fear those who can kill the body, but rather fear Him (God) who can destroy both body and soul in hell (Matthew 10:28).

What you seem to be missing is that for a soul to be alive it must have both a body and the breath of life. Because without the breath of life the body is only a corpse, whether animal or human without the breath of life we are DEAD. And the 'breath of life' that God breathed into man when He created them is defined: the breath; neshamah - of life; chay

Neshamah is defined:
a puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect. or (concretely) an animal:—blast, (that) breath(-eth), inspiration, soul, spirit.

Chay is defined: alive; hence, raw (flesh); fresh (plant, water, year), strong; also (as noun, especially in the feminine singular and masculine plural) life (or living thing), whether literally or figuratively:— age, alive, appetite, (wild) beast, company, congregation, life(-time), live(-ly), living (creature, thing), maintenance, merry, multitude, (be) old, quick, raw, running, springing, troop.

Neshamah chay is to have the vital breath of life that brings divine inspiration, intellect, through soul and spirit. Every living thing upon the earth, with appetite and intellect is called 'a living soul.' The spirit, soul is how the body is made alive. The difference between the breath of life in animals and humans is that only human beings created in the likeness and image of God may also have divine inspiration and intellect through the Spirit in us, as they did before the fall. But the breath of life through soul, spirit that animals possess was not given this divine inspiration and intellect that enables man to commune with and have a relationship with God through His Spirit. Animals were not made in God's likeness and image, only human beings are. So when the breath of life (soul, spirit) leaves the body of animals, they are no longer 'living souls'. They are completely DEAD, and no longer living soul, but mere corpses.

Mankind who has been born again, once again possesses the Spirit of God that enables the spiritual life we receive when we are born again to be eternal. Even though our physical body, like the body of animals will become a corpse, our spirit indwelt with the Holy Spirit from Christ will continue to give life to our spiritual body and we will ascend to heaven still living, a spirit soul without a physical body.

God, unambiguously tells us that He created man with a body of flesh & bone of the earth, and that He breathed into them the breath of life (spirit) and the two BECAME a "living soul." Because where there is a soul, there is life! That life (soul) can be in a physical body of earth or in a spiritual body of heaven.

Yes, Christ did die to redeem man's soul! Because the redemption of man's living soul saves that man's whole body +spirit when he/she has been born again of Christ's Spirit in them.

A spirit cannot die. If you cease to exist your spirit goes back to God who gave it. Eccl 12:7.

You are tripartite whether or not you want to be.

You cannot link soul and spirit together because Jesus said that the body and soul can be killed.

But it is not dead on arrival in a grave..... either.

Soul defines the whole man alive with body + spirit (breath of life). Man can kill the body, but man cannot kill the living soul endowed with the Spirit from Christ in us. Death of our physical body without the Spirit of Christ in us comes when the breath of life, that gives our physical body life departs from us, returning to God, while our body becomes a corpse.

Man is not a corpse until the spirit departs from the dead body, and our spirit/soul will as Solomon writes return to God who gave it. The question for mankind is how does our breath of life (spirit) return to God? Does it return to Him alive through the Holy Spirit in us, or does it return to God without life? If our spirit returns to God alive it is still in heaven called a "living soul." The fate of every human soul will be determined at the great white throne judgment when the dead are judged according to what is written in the books and the book of life. That's why Christ says that only He shall kill both soul and body in hell, because man is only able to kill our body but cannot kill the inner man which is spirit/soul.

We are only three part beings with the Holy Spirit in us. Before we are born again of Christ's Spirit we are alive through body + breath of life (spirit) as living physical souls. Our spirit becoming one with the Holy Spirit in us makes three with Him. Apart from the Spirit of Christ in us, we remain natural man of the earth a physical body with the breath of life (spirit) and the TWO are called "living souls" just as man was in the beginning when God created man.

Matthew 10:28-33 (KJV) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

According to Solomon only our physical body goes into the grave. Without the spirit (breath of life) that returns to God, that gave the dead body physical life before dying, the body in the grave is a corpse, without any life whatsoever until the seventh trumpet sounds in an hour coming when all who are in the graves shall be resurrected to life or condemnation.

The spirit in man without the presence of the Spirit from Christ is spiritually dead already, though physically alive. Paul calls this being "dead in trespasses and sins." Our spirit is only eternally alive in Christ, being born again of His Spirit and can never die. In heaven that spiritual life after death is called a "living (spirit) soul." In Christ we are eternally alive in both soul and spirit, because where there is a soul there is life (spirit). The Bible writes the faithful after physical death are in heaven alive called "souls". The spirit of man after physical death returns to God, and all who are alive after death are still called "living souls." That's because where there is life (spirit) it is a living soul. That life can be a living soul while physically alive or after physical death through the breath of life (spirit) that returns to God.

1 Peter 1:9 (KJV) Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Revelation 6:9 (KJV) And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Revelation 20:4 (KJV) And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Ok, thanks...yes, our spirit is only eternally alive in Christ, that I understand through the Spirit...so our soul is connected to our spirit, that’s Alive in Christ?

We are living souls whether we are in Christ or not. Every living creature on the earth is a living soul through their body of flesh and the breath of life (spirit). Yes, our spirit only has eternal life in Christ through Christ's Spirit in us. A living soul is body + spirit OR a living soul is spirit indwelt with the Holy Spirit alive in heaven after our body dies. Otherwise without Christ's Spirit in us the spirit that gives mankind the breath of life returns to God without the life-giving Spirit of Christ.

Those who aren’t Born Again are in darkness and sin....I’m going to be with God for all eternity, only God can testify that with our spirit...when he births us in the Spirit.

The breath of life comes from God....those without the Spirit will be judged on death....as well as we will be.

I know this is a common doctrine taught, but according to the creation account in Genesis we read that God created man from dust of the earth and breathed the breath of life (spirit) into him and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The Old Testament Hebrew neshamah for 'breath of life' is defined 'blast, breath, inspiration, soul and spirit'. When the Old Testament translates neshamah it is translated as 'breath of life' 20 times, and 'spirit' 2 times, 'inspiration' 1 time, 'and souls' 1 time (KJV). Wherever life is found, whether physical life or spirit life there is a living soul. That's why mankind created with body + spirit (breath of life) became a living soul. Mankind was not made with body + spirit + living soul, because even a spirit with life through the Spirit of Christ is a living soul in heaven. So in our physical body before death mankind is a living soul with body + spirit. Then in death the spirit that gives our natural body life returns to God who gave it. (Ecc. 12:7) In heaven the spirit in man who dies in unbelief will remain in silence and darkness, but the spirit in man who dies in faith returns to God a spiritual body as living soul.

Strong's Hebrew Dictionary
5397. נְשָׁמָה neshamah (nᵉshâmâh

Search for H5397 in KJVSL; in KJV.

נְשָׁמָה nᵉshâmâh, nesh-aw-maw'

from H5395; a puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect. or (concretely) an animal:—blast, (that) breath(-eth), inspiration, soul, spirit.
well you arew taking the OT alone and not considering the imitations of the Hebrew language.

I Thess. 5:23:

1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Body= the physical exterior
Soul the immaterial part of man that makes man. The ability to think, rationalize and feel and understand.
Spirit- that part of man that allows him to have fellowship with god. this is what died in man on the day they ate the fruit.
