And yet it's not clear to me.Of course our physical bodies shall be resurrected! That fact cannot be made any clearer.
And yet it's not clear to me.
I believe our physical body is replaced by a spiritual body. The physical stays in the ground, and our consciousness is transferred to a brand new spiritual body. As you say, the two bodies are not the same. There is a physical body and a spiritual body, but the way I understand it, we have one at a time, not both at the same time. I just don't see any point in resurrecting the physical body. It just seems completely pointless to me and I don't understand why y'all are so married to this idea. What do you think Paul means when he says "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality"? Do you believe it means something other than our physical bodies being resurrected immortal & incorruptible FLESH when the last trump sounds? This resurrection of the flesh shall not take place until the last trumpet sounds. However when our physical body has died, at that moment (physical death) we are raised up a spiritual body of believers alive in heaven. You continue to speak as though you believe our physical body is resurrected, and changed to a spiritual body when the last trumpet sounds. Or perhaps you believe our physical body turns into a spiritual body after death? Our physical body shall be made physically alive through the spiritual body that returns with Christ, but our physical body does not change into a spiritual body. Because there is a physical body and a spiritual body and the two are not the same. With one (physical body) we are of flesh, with the other (spiritual body) we are spirit, not flesh. What exactly is not clear to you? Let go of the opinion that physical bodies are changed into spiritual bodies when the last trumpet sounds, and you will not be confused.
"It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."
Paul was not making a difference between physical and spiritual. There is a physical body seperate from the spirit that is put on. Paul was pointing out the difference between a temporal and permanent body. One from Adam and of dust. The other from God, that cannot die. Spiritual means from God. Natural means from Adam.
Not one verse claims being a son of God is having a spirit inside of you.
You refute your own point by still using the word body. The body is physical.
I'm still not understanding how you differentiate between soul and spirit. Can you explain to me what you think those two words mean? The spirit is of God, and is also spiritual like God. God is also light, so this spirit is also light. On the mount of Transfiguration, Jesus became light. Not really, but Jesus showed what the spirit is over the body, a bright light.
We have all three parts, because Paul said to live in obedience:
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
God is a trinity, and in the image of God, we are a trinity. The soul and spirit currently are independent of each other, because we are spiritually dead, meaning seperated. The body cannot function independently of the soul, it would be dead. The soul is not made to remain in death, without a body, but prior to the Cross, the OT redeemed were waiting for that redemption. That is why they were in a section of sheol called Abraham's bosom.
Jesus coming to earth in a physical body, the Cross, and resurrection was the event that brought about the soul joining a physical body, now in Paradise. The Second Coming will be the final restoration of the spirit with the soul and body. Because John said they all were given white robes as symbolic of that restoration. Paul points out it is death putting on life, the final step in making us complete and sons of God with soul putting on body and spirit for those on the earth. Those in Paradise putting on the spirit, the robe of white at the 5th Seal.
"And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled."
The church would wait for the final harvest while the rest of humanity was removed from Adam's dead corruptible flesh.
This "spirit" you speak of, does it have consciousness? Is it self aware? Does your memory stay with the spirit after death? You continue to confuse what becomes of the spirit (breath of life) within mankind when our physical body breathes its last, with what become of our body of flesh that dies. The spirit returns to God either alive or in darkness and silence, and our physical body returns to dust.
I believe our physical body is replaced by a spiritual body. The physical stays in the ground, and our consciousness is transferred to a brand new spiritual body.

No. Adam had a physical body in a physical garden. That was the spiritual body, you all talk about and it was physical. A body is always physical. So then you agree that the body is not always physical? Cause earlier you said the body is still physical. Now you're admitting that there is a spiritual body?
So now we agree that there is no spirit inside of you? I thought all along you were trying to convince me that there's a spirit inside of me that goes to heaven when I die. So now you agree with me?
Huh? You just said that one body is from God, and spiritual means from God. So doesn't that mean there is a spiritual body? You seem to be all over the map, but I'm going to assume that you're just not explaining yourself clearly. Do yo believe there is a spiritual body, or not?
I'm still not understanding how you differentiate between soul and spirit. Can you explain to me what you think those two words mean?
Since Trump will probably have roughly 40 to 50 indictments against him in the lost-it's-way USA, will he simply renounce his US citizenship and seek asylum in Israel where he has a high approval rating? Israel even has billb nooards with Trump's image. He could then run for Prime Minister. And, since he is a builder, and has greatly wanted to be the mastermind behind a peace deal of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, e.g., Abraham Accords, he could then be the one to negotiate an agreement to have the 3rd Temple built. Is it possible? Remember, Trump pulled off the impossible in 2016, and then with the historic Abraham Accords.
In the USA, the entire system is rigged and doing everything to stop him. Accordingly, there seems no possible way for Trump to escape all of these indictments. He would be found guilty of at least a few of them, and most likely facing jail time. He could negotiate with prosecutors to renounce his citizenship and then seek asylum in Israel.
Full disclosure: I am not a Trump supporter, just an observant. I voted for him in 2016. I did not vote for anyone in 2020. He's certainly better than what we have now, but that isn't saying much.

The "third temple" isn't made with human hands...
The "third temple" is this:
"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own," 1 Corinthians 6:19
If you're waiting for someone to build it, you'll be waiting a long time...
Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” John 2:19

We are a royal priesthood. The Holy Spirit isn't housed in a building anymore, and no one will build another. Christ is building His Temple, one brick (saved individual) at a time.
The apostles are the foundation, Christ is the cornerstone, and we are the living stones. It's actually quite beautiful.
Barnes:Laughable ..... Who put that idea in your head? So, you are telling us to ignore everything else in the Bible and believe this? You need to read more and stop letting people put trash in your head ....
Amen, the church is His temple as the scriptures say. But sadly Israel doesn't know this and are very determined to build a Temple made with human hands. And many in Christendom also unfortunately are believing this to be a good thing, and I believe it will be a snare to them.: clears throat:

The Bible clearly says that your body is a temple. Where does it clearly say that there will be a third temple building?Laughable ..... Who put that idea in your head? Trump actually loves America, and his actions prove that. But the other candidates and present rulers are actually just 'marionettes' acting on the whims of a group of coward shadow rulers that hide behind the scenes. Trump doesn't obey that shadow group. So anyone who cannot see that difference doesn't really have a clue as to what is going on in America. It sure seems like a possibility to me. I wonder how Christian Trumpers will spin it if this did happen.
And i john saw the holy city . there was no temple therein , FOR GOD and THE LAMB are the temple .: clears throat:

Trump loves himself. He uses people to make himself appear to be what "his people" want him to be. I've never seen anyone who loves himself more than Trump loves himself, or who sees himself more highly than Trump sees himself.Trump actually loves America,
Trump has followed the same path NEBB did . He better beware .Trump loves himself. He uses people to make himself appear to be what "his people" want him to be. I've never seen anyone who loves himself more than Trump loves himself, or who sees himself more highly than Trump sees himself.
