Sorry Taken,,,,I really don't know what you're saying.
Those above ARE NOT CHRISTIAN persons.
A Christian person does PREPARE to do works for God.
A person calling themselves “a Christian”…
Can be a Learner, a Follower, a Doer, Believer, Unsure, not Saved, Saved, Prepared (by God) to Serve, Serve or Not.
Jesus plainly said to let our light shine so that our good works may be seen and we give glory to God.
Matthew 5.16, as I posted.
Not news and not disputed.
Jesus said lots of things… all “Christian’s” doing everything Jesus said… plainly just doesn’t happen.
So when YOU do a GOOD WORK,,,,
you're doing it for yourself?
* Sure. I daily do things for myself …
Cook, work, eat, shower, mow, muck, clean, laundry, shop, draw, tend animals, etc.
So you do NOT do good works for God?
Sure I do.
* daily spend time with the Lord, prayer, conversations, thank, bless, study His Word.
* As well, give charity, help neighbors, share the gospel and blessing when I see others, strangers or not.
^ ^ Which is “for Gods Glory”.
Paul explained that we do good works for God:
Titus 3:1-8
1 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.
Before:
3Forwe also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
and after:
6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
Colossians 3:23-24
23 Whatever * you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than * for men,
24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Being informed / guided does not equal a person Doing.
I am content in what I do to Glorify God.
The WORK that man MUST DO, IS a WORK God DID, called a man Doing the Work OF God…
And Failure for a man TO DO SO…
“is Called… The man having Faith without Works…AKA…. dead Faith.”
Faith is a gift from God… For “Hearing” the Word of God.
A man who hears and hears and hears, BUT DOES NOT “Believe”…. Did not work the Works of God… thus the mans Faith IS Dead.
A man WHO hears, is gifted Faith….
“And IF he Believes” he has worked the work of God.
All other “works” a man does… neither gains him salvation or keeps salvation.
Jesus plainly said, answering a question posed to Him.
John 6:
[28] Then said they unto him,
What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
[29] Jesus answered and said unto them,
This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
