I didn't read it all.
Sorry.
I like the Reader's Digest version.

Here's one for you:
John 5:28-29

And here's another one:
Mathew 23:37

The top one if for how we will be judged by our works.
Sorry for using that word...

The second one shows how Jesus wanted to save everyone in Jerusalem but they did not want to be saved.

I think I believe Jesus more than Paul.

I don't even really know what your point is. Too much to read.
What is your point?
What does Jesus say about your point?
Could you please post something Jesus said since He's the one who hung on that cross?

Thanks.

John 5:28-29

The good can not be found in the flesh.

Romans 12:9 KJV
[9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

Cleave to that which is good? What is good: husband and wife cleave to one another. That which is good is...CHRIST. We cleave to Christ.

John 5. CHrist is the measure.
John 5:29 KJV
[29] And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Not you: correction: not your flesh.

I'm really slow and you're talking in riddles.
Just say what you want to say.
I won't faint.

The point is: your flesh is condemned, GodsGrace. Keep teaching goodness of the flesh. The law still condemns it.

There is no more condemnation for those that are in Christ. (Spirit). If you realized this, you wouldn't condemn Paul based off the flesh and hint his as false teaching that is against Christ.

You look with eyes blinded by the love of this world.

P.P.S.

I don't HINT at anything.
I say what I want to say.
I said nothing about Paul except that when there's some DISCREPANCY, which would have to be discussed with knowledgable people... Then I always refer to Jesus. If YOU want to stay with Paul, hey, that's fine with me. You could love Paul more than Jesus, it's allowable although not desireable.

See my dear,
YOU hint at things, so you think EVERYONE does.
You have much to learn of life...

Maybe a third time will be enough to penetrate that wall. I love you. I am not your enemy. I am not attacking you. Jesus prayed the Father:

John 17:11 KJV
[11] And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are .

John 17:22 KJV
[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Would you agree that the LORD answered the prayer prayed by the son, Jesus?
Acts 2:1 KJV
[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

One body: many members.
One mind.
One purse.
With Jesus Christ as the head. The Head (Spirit) that steers the body.

If we focus on the physical: it looks like there is no unity. The spiritual church has not been disassembled. Under attack yes. But it remains upon its sure foundation which is Christ. The body is still unified, under submission of the head which is Christ. The church is Spirit. Not flesh.

Matthew 16:18 KJV
[18] And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The gates of hell shall not prevail against the Spiritual church. The gates of hell shall not prevail against His Spirit inside you. It is not about What your flesh can do.

One body: many members.
One mind.
One purse.
With Jesus Christ as the head.

I am not your enemy.
Neither is Paul.
Unless...you reject the Spirit.

What wall?
The wall you put up?
What have you said that I don't already know?
What do you think YOU know that I don't know?
Are YOU focusing on the physical?
Do you think I am?
WHAT makes you think that?
WHY are you writing to me?
You think we're under one accord?
Or is that just what you would wish?
You say we're under submission to the head (Jesus).
Some on this very forum woudn't agree with you.
They're not under submission to anyone...they do whatever they want to do because they are no longer under the law.

I looked on your profile.
You're a girl. So you're not going to like me much.
Guys seem to get along better with me. Don't know why.
It doesn't say your age.
You sound young.

Love me like you love yourself.
You know your truth.
That's the only truth you'll listen to.
Not everyone can bear the truth.
Here's the thing about love.
I can love a person even though I may not like them.
Love is a heavenly thing
Like is a human thing
You tell me I'm physical and not spiritual, so how could I possibly love you???

I thought a lot about Romans last night and what you asked. Read it multiple times and the most honest answer I can give is this:

Romans 7:4 KJV
[4] Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

I have to be careful saying the law is dead. The law is good, right? The law is what reveals a man's state, his sin and his separation from God.

Romans 7:10-12 KJV
[10] And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death. [11] For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me . [12] Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

My flesh is condemned by law. It has been found guilty. My flesh is destined to return to the dust. No amount of faith and effort on my part will EVER redeem this flesh. I am promised a glorified body. This one goes into the ground.

Now your question:
Romans 7:25 KJV
[25] I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

There is the carnal mind:
Romans 8:5-6 KJV
[5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. [6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

And there is the spiritually minded. By your post, I know you hear this in what Paul says. In acknowledgment that the law is good, when Paul says with his mind he serves the law of God: he means Christ. Christ is the embodiment of the Law. Unlike the letter that kills, Christ is life and love. "Be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind" why? The more Christ(the word) is in us, the more we become spiritually minded. Focused on God and not the temporal.

The flesh is condemned by the law:
Romans 7:17-18 KJV
[17] Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. [18] For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

If we focus carnally on the flesh then we remain condemned.

Romans 8:9-10 KJV
[9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. [10] And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 8:1 KJV
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The flesh is condemned. There is no more condemnation for those in Christ. Faith doesn't justify this rotten flesh...it is returning to dust.

Great answer. You said: "...when Paul says with his mind he serves the law of God: he means Christ." That is what I needed to have described to me, thanks.

I am forty-eight. Uneducated.

Why do I talk to you? I liked what you said about the tree of life in another thread, or maybe it was this one. You are educated. And you have been taught by educated men.

You are wrong. I have plenty to learn and I know it. I don't discount anything you say. Just because I don't agree with everything you contribute, I still listen and weigh it with His word.

Strange how crushed you were when Richard dismissed you as unworthy of his time when you didn't agree with him...and then you do the same.

I am not the enemy.

Some here don't understand that God is GOD.
They like to think of him as just another person.
They say love makes no demands.
Well, I'm married and I make demands.
Guess I don't love my husband.

I hear much foolishness from some.
Funny, was having this discussion with a friend last night, of how only one who comes from a "demanding" marriage could ever believe that God is a demanding God, thanks for confirming my observations. Now we know, that who God is, is based on who you are and not who He is.

God bless

Well, apparently YOU are following a religion since you learned such foolishness from some weird church you go to.

Read the bible, which you don't like, and get to know the REAL GOD.
GOD DEMANDS a lot from us.

He's not like your neighbor or wife or cousin or any other HUMAN, that requests things of you.

GOD DEMANDS.
Well I know God, and HE has never demanded anything from me, and if you asked anyone who knows Jesus or God they would disagree with you, even God Himself.

I am not sure if this fits with your observation but the other night my granddaughter said: I know what disobedience means.

I asked for her definition. She is five.

She answered: disobedience is whining to get what you want.

We demand.
The LORD commands.
There is a difference, imo.

Hebrews 12:9 KJV
[9] Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us , and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

If anyone else has scripture they want to present before the brethern for feedback yet they don't want to begin a new thread, this is the place. This thread is open to any topic; open to any scripture that causes questions.

My question is not a "scripture' , but I do have a question.
If it conflicts with the subject at hand I can start a new thread. :)

I am just mystified by something that I have NEVER ever come across before.
I was saved back in 1964 ..53 years ago...and never until this Christianity Board Site have I ever encountered Christians which are so "anti-Paul".
I must say it has totally amazed me.
The fact that we are Christians...New Covenant ...I thought meant we believed in the NT writings. Yet it seems some would discredit about 80% of it.

The New Covenant starts after the cross and renting of the veil ..breaking down the wall of separation between us and God...so the New Testament starts in Acts.

Can anyone tell me WHY so many, who that say they are NT believers are so anti Paul. I just don't understand.
Are they old testament believers or what...their NT bible must be very small!:(
Any 'light' on the reason why? I am clueless here.
Thanks.
