? hmm
i just skip those posts, so i guess my perspective is different. I wonder if ol' Meshak, Shadrak, and Abed~nego felt any negativity, en route to the furnace? :)

Touche' Yours is indeed a better perspective...

I don't think that the "ignore" button works well...all it does is stop us from see the name of the people on our ignore list...which makes reading a thread more confusing than it already is!! LOL :D :D :D

I guess the words "suck it up" come to mind. LOL

WHERE ARE MY ACTUAL REPLIES? WHO ALTERED THEM? THIS FORUM IS A FAKE AND LIE.

When I quoted your LONG post...and added my response...I HAD to cut your post quote short , and only quoted the part I was actually answering ...because the software said- " You have too many words, you cannot post"

So, I cut out most of your post when replying to you. IT IS ALLOWABLE, it is not a sin!!! Most of us do not quote a persons whole post.

In connection of this site having such a negative atmosphere right now.
In connection with such as ScottA, Amadeus, and others I wont mention "stepping back"... and the guy who I just posted here , believing that he is the sword of God showing all us flowers just how he is doing God's work in slanging and bullying other people and their beliefs.
Which in my book, is the job of the Holy Spirit, not him!

But, there you go...as I already said...maybe I am just going through something...or need to step-back myself...and let him 'have at it".

Hi Grace, you are a good and sweet soul. It seems to me that taking small breaks from this site is a good idea - it is easier for me to get sucked into the negativity if i am spending too me time here. Remember that your source of peace and joy and kindness is in your quet times with God, He is your strength :)

Thank you Aspen. I respect your wisdom.

I'm waiting for the Lord to clarify things for me.

Hey, maybe I will get banned for not quoting a whole long length of post.
I have never seen in the rules that it says that when responding we have to quote the whole posts...but hey, what do I know.

If you get banned for it, so will I and so would most? The ones "left behind" will be those that don't snip.

dunno if you have been told yet, but inside every quote, at the top banner, is an invisible little button, just right of the quoted person's name, said, colon, that you can click to trackback to the original post. and this software allows you to highlight/reply to a snippet.

Thanks for your post...
Please DONT step away....I really believe that that IS one of the problems...good people have got discouraged about the constant contending in a bad spirit ( it can be done in a good spirit)
And have stepped back....ScottA has been missing since 23 November...
@amadeus ...hasn’t been on since last Thursday...( I saw someone slang him quite nastily and uncalled for, knowing that he never retaliates is like kicking a puppy...same mentality)
I wonder if that is why he went....I have written to him ( friends for years) maybe it is because of his wife’s health...he often steps back when helping her.
When too many “good seeds” are missing, the atmosphere changes.

But, since reading all these responses on this thread...I have to just weigh if it is just something that I am going through.
Please stick around....I have been on many Forums too....this used to be one of the best.
I guess the question is...do we run from those who are changing the site towards the negative...or do we pray and stand our ground?

What is Jesus saying?
Bless you ...H
I am back, dear sister in Christ. Within me still is that 'old man' spirit that keeps pressing to regain what it has lost in me: the dominion.

Sometimes I have allowed the flesh to linger too long or I have failed to surrender anew as I should to Jesus as often as is needed.

Always back to the bottom so that He can lift me up if that is what He wants to do. My flesh may seek it, but following my own flesh will never get me anywhere but into a still deeper pit. The bottomless pit is there, but Jesus is stronger than that.

Give God the glory!

I have just returned from another forum where the enemy is again trying to rise up an push people down. I weary, but NOT in well doing. It is the tired old flesh, but in the newness of the Spirit there is no weariness.

Give God the glory!

I have missed you...Because I am a silly woman, your post made me cry.
Like many good people here...we know how weak our Old Man is and how it rises up and blocks the true light of God's Spirit from shining through.

Like many others here...we are aware that failing to be all that we are called to be...I slip up every time when I try to do anything in my own strength.
Only the things that God does are life giving. How often I get in the way!

One could get despondent if we did not know the dealings of God which are ongoing in us...bring us to the place of the One True Man, The fullness of body of Christ. There is hope!

Job 14:7-9 " For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant."

The living Water of life. That brings me peace. :)

Nothing silly about shedding tears. My dear old pastor is feeble in the flesh, but when he cries tears from behind the pulpit, which happens often, you know that he is in the Spirit.

I find it strange ' Bygrace ' that I have been able to come here, read and post from time to time but have been able to let so much go over my head - it's usually me that takes it on board, and you that is able to let it go over your head.
I have seen many strong characters here, and if we are really honest, we all judge one another. I may not verbalise my judgments, but I do sit at home thinking ' is that Christian for real ' !
The problem is that just because people say different things is simply not evidence Of whether they have asked the Lord Jesus into their hearts. I am not totally sure that any of us can truly judge where any member stands with God.
Sometimes I do believe that we have to spell things out and make bold statements, and sometimes that is going to hit raw nerves and offend, but I am not to sure that any of us should claim to be the ' official police ' over everyone else' s words..
We are answerable to God for what we say, how we judge, and how we respond- and all of us have the ability to spew out unkind things to one another, there will always be those who will not listen, those who have their own agendas, those who sound like resounding gongs -BUT does that mean we cannot learn from one another.
I must admit that I read more than post- sometimes within the threads I find difficult I find God speaking to me - that's enough to keep me here xxxx
As ever, I need to get ready for work........

Ah real news, fake news, real Christians, luke-warm Christians, fake Christians.

Should I really just say it like how it is?

The problem is today there are so many different kinds of people that may or may not be Christian, they might not be born again and just claim to be Christian, they might have 1 foot in and 1 foot out, 1 arm in and the other arm out, in Australia 52.1% of the population ticked the Christian box in the 2016 census, it doesn't mean they are all Christian though, the percentage of the population that is born again is probably around 30% maybe more or less.

Because 52.1% includes the thousands of kids that no longer believe in God, that have Christian parents, and some of their parents don't know, and other people in the households too, because only 1 person from each household or each family had to fill out the census for the household, then you got the small percentage of homosexuals who call themselves Christians, (it's pretty much against the law to say the truth about them in my country now, and ridiculously you can get $12,000 fines by saying the truth about them, or even just quoting what the Bible says about homosexuality,) then you got maybe a 1/4 or 1/5th of that 52.1% percentage, who aren't actually born again, or maybe they think are Christian, but never asked Jesus into their hearts and have never repented, but they still ticked the Christian box, then there are others who are in the same category, you got people who believe in Jesus, but not the Holy Spirit or God, or they believe in God, but don't believe that Jesus resurrected from the dead, etc, etc. And they ticked the Christian box, then there are people who bow down to Jesus and Buddha, that also ticked the Christian box, and that drops that 52.1% down to around the 30% mark of real Christians.

But if you go around asking different people, they will have different views on what or what not is a real Christian, and some Christians might very well say that percentage is more like 1%, but by God's grace, by Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, i would say that the percentage of true born again Christians in Australia is about around 30%.

Someone might quote this and add more to my post.
Someone might quote this and say that's too much grace.
Someone might quote this and make a mockery.
Someone might quote this and show their disapproval.
Someone might quote this and agree.
And then some people might be thinking about how "far right wing" those views are........ But are they really?

Anyways :D

For me and my wife life is very hard. No church. Old age pain and afflictions and disabilities. A kind word from anywhere is appreciated. Yet as you said discouragers are lying in ambush to tear down. Competition is not part of the gospel.

We have the devil to tear down.

Let everything be done in building up.

1 Corinthians 14:26 KJVS
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Colossians 4:6 KJVS
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Personally I need to remember this every second. So many times in my own life my mouth has failed me. Self discipline it's called. James says it's the one thing that has never been tamed.

If I can control what comes out of my pie hole I can conquer the world!

A fool speaks all of his mind but a wise man holds it back for later - or not at all.

And again..

Titus 2:8 KJVS
Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Titus 2
[8]And let your instruction be sound and fit and wise and wholesome, vigorous and irrefutable and above censure, so that the opponent may be put to shame, finding nothing discrediting or evil to say about us.

Sadly those of the contrary part will continue to condemn even though all your speech is gracious. Amen

to be fair, there is a line, and it is you who decides where the line is, not me.

Well true..I guess each of us have our own tolerance level for where we draw a line.
I guess mine just goes so far..then, for me...that is enough.

But thank God...He is still teaching and showing us His nature, and working His life into us. I confess, I do not have endless patience. :(

Still learning...still "a work in progress"...

Pro 19:11 The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger; And it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

And while that is true, there is a line that needs to be drawn. There is a time to take a stand. There is a point, when one can no longer overlook offense / transgression.

We all know the Scriptures. We all know that we shall be judged as we judge. That mercy triumphs over judgment. However, to allow something / someone amoung us, to carry on unchecked, for such, we also would be guilty.

Apparently, you and I draw that line very near to the same point.

In His love,
Richard
