"He was saved as saved could be."

There are some even here that would disagree with that assessment, but no matter, sure thing sport.

Odd.
If someone to whom Jesus PERSONALLY said, Today You Will Be With Me In Paradise, is not saved --- then who can be?!

I think it was the Apostle Paul, although Jesus was good with a snappy remark, or do you really believe there were people walking around with big old beams of wood in their eyes?
See this how you done it the last time you ran further away from the convserstion. good bye

I’ve been trying to follow this thread, but the posts are so jumbled up i thought I must of had a stroke. Is literacy out of style in 2018? Michael and Godsgrace seem to be the only people i can understand tonight. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Let's make this tougher for the slackers. What did Jesus mean when He said, "He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you." John 13:10
Hint: Christianity was originally called "the way."
John 13:10
"He who is bathed":He who is totally clean. IOW, born again.
"Is Completely Clean": Because he has been washed by the blood.
"Needs only to wash his feet": The new sins which are committed
"You are clean": The Apostles
"But not all of you": Judas

As for "the Way": Not sure how you make the connection. Will be interested to hear.

It was what the Christians were first called...Jesus IS The Way.
It makes me think of when He told the disciples He had sent out to shake the dust off their feet where they were not welcomed.
Mathew 10:14
Acts 24:14
John 13:10

See also
John 15:3

And I like
John 13:8 a lot.

Comments please.

Would not say it other wise would you?
i've come to realize that if i don't allow my current perspective on a matter to become a belief that i feel compelled to then defend, i am much more open-minded to a better perspective on a matter once i have matured enough to understand it. So no, i would not say it otherwise, but i also realize that it is not the final, absolute truth, not ever. i hope! :)

also, see, if you know something for a truth, then miracles are prolly like virtually impossible?

Hint: Christianity was originally called "the way."

I was a little hesitant in replying to this post directed toward "slackers", but what the hay, here goes.

With the washing over of salvation, you don't need it again and again. You can't be born again, again and again.

1 John 1:7, But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Cleansed by the blood of Jesus and the need to be washed by the Word, continually.

Ephesians 5:25-26, Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

Aaaah, the living water, John 7:38, Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them."

Footwashing is needed if you sit with God in heavenly places because the devil is under your feet, the only place he can reach, tossing garbage at you, such as, "you are partly saved", "you can lose your salvation", "you were never saved in first place", "you're a filthy sinner", "God doesn't love you". Shake the dust off your feet, the garbage, and get your feet washed. The foot-washing doesn't save you, the blood does that and you are cleaned through words spoken to you, hearing about Jesus, washed by the Word.

John 13:8-10, “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

Go ahead, wash someone's feet today, share the Good News and talk about Jesus.

John 13:14, "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet."

I'll start.

Ephesians 1:13, And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

Ephesians 2:8, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God

2 Timothy 2:13, if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

Romans 11:29, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.

Do your feet feel squeaky clean?

John 13:7, Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."

Why would God say we are Holy sanctified, new man mew creation if we were not. Dont take my word for it. See heres the problem here with most people and I never thought you would fall into this. Bu t I see you doing it in your last few posts. You are talking as if I said it :) I never God did.
i suggest that what you have done is admit yourself into a suggested group, an ideal, that Scripture goes to some lengths to define as accepted, by way of justifying your ego, and that the Book even invited this perspective, by way of revealing where our hearts are at. See bc the next step is to then identify who these are, right, and really what is the purpose for this? It is so that a them can be established, see, for purposes of different treatment essentially, right? A way to not love your "enemies," iow (another play on one's perceptions, as the Book clearly tells us who our real enemies are elsewhere)
I never God did.
yes, in a very clever way imo, as parents are wont to do

You looking upset at me for some reason?
not at all! i understand that "Jesus did not die for your sins" is attacking a sacred cow, and you might justifiably feel quite differently. So, if you detect some...mumbo-jumbo, bam make your case and let's see! Bc of course there is a sense in which Christ died for us, but the point is to reveal the much more popular counterfeit, not to deny Christ.

And I see you have a little follower.
little? ok

truth is established in the mouth of two or three, so fwiw i would use those (i assume you mean someone 'liked' the post) as guides

most ppl would only like posts by those considered friends for instance, which might easily be perceived as sycophancy, so fwiw i now try my best to like the posts i agree with in those perceived as opponents or whatever, as this would maybe indicate a more unbiased witness, but regardless i would not...i would be careful how you treat any witness

It has everything to do with it.
It's been answered.
I'll try one more time...
Justification is immediate and happens when one converts to becoming a Christian and serving God. God does all the work. Justification is a legal process and is declared by God as to the state of your being saved. At that moment...

Sanctification is a life-long process. It requires our cooperation. The Holy Spirit is living with us, or in us. He helps us to grow in our faith. He helps us to know when we're sinning, it's called conviction; He is our paraclete; He stands by our side and helps us to turn down sin; He gives us the strength we need.

Jesus had to leave us and return to the Father, being that He is the 2nd person of the Holy Trinity. However, He did say He would not leave us alone.
John 16:7

Sanctification involves our doing God's will, following His lead, believing in Jesus and loving God, ourselves and our neighbor and doing whatever that love would entail.

A man hanging from a cross can't do much, he doesn't have much time either. He confessed, he showed a desire to be with Jesus. He was saved as saved could be.

A person in a wheelchair can't do much. He could MAYBE pray. Maybe not even that. But he could have love for God and God knows who loves Him.

If one loves God, they DO tend to want to walk through life with Him.
This walk through life is called sanctification.
your Catholic is showing, lol
