Depression!! How can a believer in Jesus be depressed?? Depressed about what? That one can't get instant gratification for what one desires?

Here is my diet. I tend to eat the same things allot. No processed anything, ever. No sugar, as a rule. Whole foods, love all fresh veggies. Love sweet potatoes-baked. Love cod fish, fresh...love sardines, berries of all kinds. Avocado and eggs about 3x weekly. Mixed green salads with broccoli, red peppers, boiled cut up breast of chix. Nuts, a few craisins, every color of every veggie I have on hand...lot's of chic peas...Fage yogurt, plain with a tbsp of organic honey for desserts pretty much nightly. Big fat pickles but, only once or twice a month. I am a cheese freak, although I know it is not all that great for me. I do not drink milk, only almond milk-not dairy, of course. I drink too much coffee :/ LOT'S of water. On my salads, pretty much daily, I always use a wine vinegar dressing with fresh ground pepper. I will be starting to make soups again, I make a mean bean and green, or kelp soup. It is apple season and I will and have been eating an apple pretty much daily, I LOVE NY apples in season, awesome! I love cantaloupe...I do like sauerkraut but only if I have a taste for it. So, There ya have it @bbyrd009 Oh yes, once in awhile I like a nice bowl of steel cut oats with fresh fruit :)

EDIT-KALE NOT KELP///kelp is too fishy for me...

You are very loyal to your diet.
I am very bad. I can do it for two weeks...then I just give in and say " Bring me chocolate , cream cakes and chips..."
I can't maintain a strict healthy diet , try as I do. :(

Today we had a ham, leek and egg pie.....not healthy at all, but very tasty.
My friend who has stage 4 cancer and on chemo...eats only white meat, veggies and salad only...no sugars or carbs....she's done ever since her diagnosis. She's been told that it is a cancer free diet.
She seems very healthy even though on chemo....
But I guess having cancer gives her the edge to stick to the diet and not waver.

Blessing....H

PS. Has Elaine moved in yet?
Will you be able to get her on your diet too?
Many say that coconut oil is good for reversing dementia and Alzheimer's .
One lady wrote a blog saying her husbands alzheimer's totally reversed for her husband. He had another wonderful 8 years before it started again.

Oh, my eating habits took several months to transform into "healthy", lol. And, it is not that I will never have a treat now and then a slice of cake,, a bowl of ice cream...I just do not keep that stuff in my house or...I will most likely eat it till it's gone and get back into the sugar/carb thing. Elaine is not here yet, I have a Dr. appt. for her on Monday afternoon..I am hoping that the Dr. will admit her. I have been on the phone allot, 2 of her nieces and their mom (Elaine's sis in law) paid what she owed in arrears so thank God she at least has phone, electric on now. Has been 2 months she has been in the dark! There is much to do before she can come here for good...my bed is thousands of lbs, it is an adjustable and I will need to get several strong guys to move it for me as, I will be giving her my room so she can have a "real" bedroom. Her problems run very deep but...God is directing my paths and I have faith abundant that she will be okay. Her dog will have to be vetted and groomed and rid of every flea and only God knows what else she has before coming into my home...I have 3 little fur fannies and they are flea free...and I want to keep it that way!! Thank you for asking ♥

Diet is helpful, so are good coping skills. But it is still a struggle. If say most days I am an 8 now with 10 feeling the most good. Anxiety is what goes up and down a lot.

Yikes! Elaine has been eating nothing BUT drive through junk for several YEARS now :/ her car was impounded today...sigh-insurance lapse... and probably for all of the trash in her car obstructing her view. That's okay because she should not be driving anyhow, and she agrees the car will need to go. One day at a time, and thanks for asking Helen ♥ Nothing from Triumph?

I think daily prayer and Bible reading - plus fresh air and exercise - can go a long way in combatting depression. The fellowship of other Christians is also very important.
