My name is Chris, there are so many here, it must have been a popular one.
Happy birthday Helen! Hope you have a truely blessed day. :)

Been waiting for the neighbors to rake. They have a huge oak tree that holds its leaves late in the fall season. We rake, and the leaves blow here. So, as to not get riled, lol, we decided to clean the yard once, and wait for them. Last weekend they were out there and now we can get it in shape. Yay!

Suddenly I realize , I don't know how to chat.:confused::)
Great that your yard work is proceeding! My wife likes doing it; me, not so much; I had heart surgery.

@"ByGrace" Happy birthday, indeed! :)

How do people know it is my birthday?
Posts are all over my facebook page , but how do you guys know here?
Did I mention it? I know a few weeks ago I mention 'being 77 next month' but I didn't mention the day :D Interesting.

My wife likes doing it; me, not so much; I had heart surgery.

Hoping you have a speedy recovery. It's amazing the things they can do.
My mom has had a valve replacement and a triple bypass. She is 77, works 32 hours a week and never stops. It's strange to me how someone that does the right things(diet, exercise, doesn't smoke, never drank), can have such things happen.
But I hope telling you she is 10 years since the surgery and going strong, that it will get better. :)

Thanks; I'm doing okay; but have my limits.

Good to know your mother is doing so well! She doesn't smoke, then...

Hey, blessings on you Chris.
How did you know it was my birthday? o_O But thank you..blessed indeed. Dave cooked me breakfast in bed , he is a good cook. :)

Oh boy, at least you have a lovely Oak.
We have a horrid 80ft ugly Pine next door
It drops more pine cones on our side because it leans toward our side!
It also drops thousands of tiny tiny pine needles on to our lawn, which kills our grass clogging the roots and very acid.

They never never do anything in the yard. In the summer they allow dandelions to grow a foot high..and send seeds over to us. We no longer can call the City and make them take care of the weeds, those days are gone now.
So as soon as the young dandelions start I get Dave to mow their 'dandelion lawn.' I told them we would do this if they didn't. They said, "Go ahead".
We are on good terms with them, and they are happy to have Dave shave their lawn! :D

They are reasonably quiet so that is one blessing...

Haha! That is like someone swimming in a pool and saying 'I can't swim.'
You already are. :)

Blessings Helen

She quit smoking at 50, heart attack.

@"ByGrace" I just went by butterfly.
Lol

I cant seem to do the multiple quote thing. But butterfly said it first.
Yes, good to wish @"ByGrace" a happy birthday if you knew it was today...

Glad your mom recovered well from her heart attack at 50. Does she know you smoke? (sometimes it's kept well hidden from family members...)

So I could be you mother!! ♥︎
I still work two mornings a week. I could not do 32 hours though. My stamina has got up and went.

I was told yesterday that I have a leaky heart valve. Not sure what that is though. @farouk ? Maybe he knows. Hopefully it's nothing which will slow me down even more.

Sorry about your valve issue.

It means that the heart problem is not with the arteries - the walls of which tend to clog up - but with the entry/exit flow of blood into the heart, which is a huge muscle. It can sometimes be fixed; but good advice is not to over-exert oneself. (Just layman's comment; medical advice needs to come directly, of course.)

Oh thank you..excellent.

My doctor read the report but didn't seem overly worried, so I wasn't ( and I can worry very easily ha! )

I've had a surgery in 2005 and one in 2015 ( not heart ones) and at 77 I am not sure I would fix anything which may need fixing.

Thanks..nice to 'meet' you John, good name. :)
Sounds like you have a nice tribe there...I wish we had had more than just two kids now. But I was not really "into" the pain of birthing much!! haha!
( yet I had a fiends who has five, and she said "it was fun"...in my 77 years I have not met any other mothers who thought childbirth was "fun" o_O)

I am a pain-wimp. I don't even like going to the dentist.

Grandkids are such fun. So, if you hold with Christmas it must be quite the gathering...

I like that sticker we saw on a car once - " If I knew that grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first." :)

Yes! We watch 3 of our grandkids a few times a week rather than a daycare. So we are intimately involved in their lives. They live just around the corner from us. :) It is a blessing.

It's sensible to avoid invasive surgery that is not strictly necessary - although always with medical advice...

I thought I would ask as I am not always up to date with text shorthand. I thought LOL was lots of love, as that's what it use to mean when I was younger ( when you use to write shorthand words on the backs of letters to friends !! ) Now I know it means laugh out loud - I figured that is what you meant , but thought it best to ask x

One of my younger sisters used to think that (I hate to even put the acronym on here but, it is funny so I will.) WTF meant "way too funny" :D. Now, she NEVER talks like that...I mean, the worlds meaning of WTF that is. She was using it on her FB site a for a bit...everybody was shaking their heads wondering "since when does Rene speak like that" LOLOL. Well, I thought it was cute. She was innocent in the whole thing! ♥

Oooops I must admit I knew what that one meant !
Mind you it's the same with words, many have changed there meaning as well. I often say things and my children will say ' mum, you can't say that now ' !!!!
My dad will say things and I have to correct him - he has come out with so many words that really are just not right now. Each generation seems to change and adapt things ! Lol

My children grew up with ' cool ' ' wicked ( which meant good not bad !!! ) ' sick ' ( that also meant it was good )
Now, I haven't got a clue what my grand daughter is talking about !!
Mind you there is also the different use of words in countries, they say we speak the same language in the US and UK , well we don't at times !! Lol

Sir Winston Churchill said that the US and Great Britain were two great countries divided by the same language...
