If you need to be told not to murder, you cannot be trusted. The law was for kidnappers, murderers, cheats and the like.

“Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;” (1 Timothy 1:9–10)

Of COURSE the law is not made for a righteous man. And also, there is no man righteous, not even one. A man may do what is right sometimes, but then he does what is not right sometimes. So does this make him half righteous? To me, it should make him say, have mercy on me, a sinner. To me, it should produce humility and putting himself low, NOT elevating himself.

“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” (1 John 3:9–10)

You do not have full understanding of those verses if you think you never miss the mark.

Born of God is "spirit", not flesh. and while in these flesh bodies we are subject to sin.

1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

for sin was condemned in the flesh. Romans 8:3 "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh".

There were two men. One thought he didn't miss the mark and thanked God that he didn't. The other man saw that he missed the mark and asked for mercy.

You have mimicked the man who thought he did not miss the mark by taking Johns verses and suggesting you cannot sin, because John says so.

But you miss the intent of the law. It is to humble men, not to raise men.

There is a new lifegiving way. But it does not do away with the law. We become more and more law abiding, not less. We commit murder less and less. We stumble in trust less and less, NOT more.

He did not come to do away with the law, but to fulfill it in us. A man who teaches the law and keeps it will be called greatest. But his righteousness must exceed the righteousness of those who think they keep the law while actually breaking it.

Paul says if we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. If you say "these things happen", sin happens, and these things continue to happen. But if you stop making excuses for yourself and others, you can censor thoughts and imaginations before they become more than temptation leading to sin.

I'm not making excuses for myself, I'm being honest about myself. I sometimes have anger and pride in my heart. I would rather admit the truth than try to cover it up or claim it isn't there.

Yes, if we walk in the spirit we do not sin. If we stop walking in the spirit, we do sin. I've not met a man yet who has attained to walking in the spirit without ever stumbling and leaving off. I think we learn to walk for longer and longer periods of time without stumbling, but I also think if you think you can't ever stumble and leave off ever again, you will most likely soon stumble.

When a man tells the truth about himself, why would you say he is making excuses?

Must we stop walking in the Spirit so we can sin and comply with your estimation of the Christian life?

That's ridiculous. No one running a race stumbles on purpose...
But even more ridiculous would be to stumble and then say you didnt because John said it's impossible for you to stumble!

Are you saying you have never stumbled in your race of trust or that there is never anger or pride in your heart? Or course you arent saying that!

Or are you saying you have finished your race of trust? Of course you aren't saying that either!

Have you reached perfection before us? Or course you havent!I

I celebrate a man being honest and seeing himself clearly. You seem to chide a man for it...

What I'm saying is you can cut off temptation in your thoughts and imaginations before they become sin. If you happen to sin, you can confess and repent and receive forgiveness, and pick up where you left off.

Yes. That is stumbling and getting back up and beginning to run your race again.

"God be merciful to me a sinner" is a healthy spirit, right?

Yes. It is extreme emotional health to have a correct estimation of yourself before God. Its also great gain. God raises the humble and brings low the proud. One day, every knee will bend.

Very odd, isn't it, to hear a man say "you must not murder" is now just commentary?

And especially since God leads me and causes me to understand that even anger in my heart is to have already murdered.

The response to understanding this should be, have mercy on me, a sinner. But instead the response is to...lower the bar so one can jump over it?

It's so bizarre to me.
Wow, such a strong point you're making here. Instead of arguing about why "thou shalt not kill" is no longer a requirement for the Christian, we should be striving to overcome anger without just cause or lust or whatever else the Holy Spirit convicts us to do.

You ignored my post to continue with your enslavement to a doctrinal stance. Are you here to display a doctrinal stance? Or do you discuss the validity of the biblical texts along with their meaning?

I know you have shifted doctrines before, as you have previously stated....but you are not learning anything by this. You are simply shifting from one doctrinal foxhole to the other. That is to miss the point entirely. it is better to remain unbound by doctrinal limitations and engage the text to discover a truth that is beyond the grasp of any one doctrinal position.

God moves in and out of things. No position can describe God's ways. God is free and wants us to have His freedom.
Few people have discovered this...preferring to trust in the ways of men and their dogmatic reasoning. As you do in spades.

But God would not be God unless he confounded the wisdom of the wise. You will never tie God down to a set of repetitive structural truisms.

Of course you will ignore all this commentary as it is not in any doctrinal position that you can program into a static mindset. You will reject this wisdom.

The truth sets us free however.
Oh yeah and what's the truth? The truth is that the universal truism is that freedom in youth or being YOUNG or YOU is for ALL young people, or beings, and to dig into find or add things is perfectly OKAY. Finding and digging into what you need, what is okay, or what you are willing so you need to back with your such delusions as being cool or with it is made of you and only for certain select. It's stupid and bigheaded. Only for certain select meaning not for "selected individuals". grow up or get a life. Hell you got most your coolness or adolescence from the Devil your dealer. Your doctrines are what's enslaved. By a young person.
