In theological terms a cult is a religion that attaches itself to a mainstream religion by name but denies the core teachings and beliefs about religion. Often adding their own so-called sacred documents.

We have two such groups on the forum regarding this threads.

They are Jehovah's Witnesses and Bible Students. One a breakaway of the other.

Both are followers of Charles Taze Russell.

Seriously? How dare you recklessly call them cult leaders, try a DICTIONARY. Do you know what a cult actually is? Your false accusations fall flat.
Personally, I can name specific Christian theologians/ apologists and specific well-known Pastors who reveal through their expository teaching that they are God-fearing, bible believing Christians who I agree with, because they come to the same conclusions as I do, they express and understand the essential Christian doctrines as I do, we are assembled together in Christ's church, Jesus is our Lord & Savior. I do not follow these apologists or theologians, we share the same view of the Bible as inerrant and take a literal interpretation of scriptures.

That idea of no hell is taught by the mystery schools of initiation. They mostly teach that this world we live in is the only hell, which of course isn't true. For them to capture their member's minds, they have to first try to delete in them any fear of a higher Power or God that may be over them, for their goal is to trick their adepts into thinking they can become their own 'god' (actually Satan's original sin he rebelled against God with).

Hell is the grave. And of course for those dead who shall be found in the grave, in the earth, shall be burned up by His ETERNAL flaming fire upon Jesus' Glorious return. With the entire earth in flames, it truly will be a "lake of fire" .

You my friend obviously have not taken note of late of our friend CoreIssue's many post accusing other's on this forum of being involved in or in following so-called cult leaders. His view appears to be that if you don't agree with him and his particular beliefs you are most likely in a cult. Perhaps you would do well to do a little review of his many post confirming this fact.
My suggesting that Ankerberg and Hunt were cult leaders was along the lines similar to what he suggested that if one follows any specific teacher and his or her interpretation of the scriptures (especially if it contradicts his beliefs and that of the professing church) they are in a cult.
I was not implying that they were actual cult leaders, merely that by CoreIssue's definition of cults and their leaders they are cult leaders.

Sorry but the Bible does warn about false prophets rising up, & false teachers teaching doctrines of demons, and for sheep to beware. The false teachers & false prophets are identified by the fact that they add to the Bible other teaching, they stray from what is explicitly taught in the Bible. Are you a Jehovah's witness then?
As for John Ankerberg and Dave Hunt--these God fearing men are both Bible- only teachers. They are bible- believing, Christ Jesus centered followers and submitted solely to the authority of the Bible & submitted to Jesus Christ --Only.
Those who want to be called followers of Jesus would do well to follow Christ's example and to open ears and their heart to the authority of Bible-only.

Hell is the grave

Hell is NOT the grave. The word "Sheol" in the OT should have simply been transliterated. Instead the KJV translators used the word "grave" and thereby created some serious problems. There are no souls and spirits six feet under.

Sheol/Hades is the abode of the unrighteous souls and spirits. Their bodies go into the grave, but their souls and spirits go to Sheol/Hades (which is in the heart of the earth, or the lower parts of the earth).

Hell (Gehenna) is the true Hell -- the Lake of Fire. It is located in "outer darkness" (presumably outside space). It will begin to be occupied when the Antichrist and the False Prophet are cast into the Lake of Fire, followed shortly by Satan and his evil angels, and after that the ones who are not found in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Since Lazarus went to Abraham's Bosom, he must have done exactly what Abraham did -- Abraham believed God and it was imputed (counted) to him for righteousness. And what Abraham did is what every believer does. See Romans 4. We can only be justified by grace through faith. See Hebrews 11.

So, this is based upon an assumption that "they each must have done [believed] something a particular way?" Nothing to do with either of them keeping, or not keeping, Jewish Law? I mean, that was all that either of them had to follow at that time, right?

i take it at face value /real .the reason i ask this i attended a rev meeting the evangelist as preaching out of REV chapter 20 .the great white throne judgement . he mentioned over his years. having people come up and say Hell is not real. i read my Bible it is real . just out of curiosity .what saith the posters ?

I think of it as more than literal. I see Hell in the eyes of the suffering, on the streets and in my office

I don't know, but it is the only one of Jesus' parables that there is a name. Lazarus. It is why I believe this one may be more then just imagery. That it really happened.
