Are you sure you're even saved???????????????
You sure are a busy little bee judging everyone else's soul.

Is §God on vacation and he left YOU in charge?

I really have nothing further to discuss with you.

I put JBF on "ignore". Makes life more peaceful. I still see his posts come through on my email notifications however, and it is satisfying to use the "delete" button on them. Is that a sin, I wonder?

There is always a spiritual conflict in the true believer. Romans 8 and Ephesians 6 make this clear.

Sounds like Augustine, a man with no discipline, a continual life of public confessions and literal battle with his own Bible.

Yep. Because you're rejecting the testimony of the Holy Ghost through me.

(see Hebrews 3:7-8, Hebrews 3:15, Hebrews 4:7).

Guess I was right after all about the "itching ears" thing.

Maybe one or more of the teachers that you will heap up to yourself will preach sound doctrine also. However, chances are, if they do, you will also put them on "Ignore".

Friend, do you really mean that the Christian life is supposedly one of constant sinlessness and tranquility? I don't in any case see any Biblical evidence for this.

1Pe 5:10, But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Yes--the way I look at it, once you gain the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, the war is over. What goes on after is simply a "mopping up" operation. The Holy Spirit is an occupying force who stands guard over our souls.

But this does not teach sinless perfection; and the Lord Jesus Himself indicated in Luke that the Christian life involves taking up one's cross daily.

Sinless perfection was not the point I was making by it (though the verse does indeed teach entire sanctification). The point I was making was that you must needs suffer only for a while, (until God hath made you perfect), and then you will be established so that you might live a peaceable life in Christ.

Your fight is not with me...it is with yourself. Have you noticed the posts here where there are equal scriptures to support that you can sin and the concern of such and scriptures that indicate that you cannot sin. Your choosing....instead of trying to understand why there seems to be opposing scriptures.....Be smart and go find out why.

Entire sanctification has to do with taking up your cross daily. It is not the eradication of the element of sin from your mortal flesh; but it is the practical outworking of a consistent holiness that we begin to walk in through self-denial.

As a believer in the Rapture, I would see 'a while' as referring to time between now and the Rapture (1 Thess. 4); the believer's tribulation (John 16.33) and suffering is not to be ended by some meritorious, ecstatic state of tranquility that I can supposedly earn.

Hi brakelite,

I will be staunchly against this view.

I believe every word and every letter was put down exactly like God wanted.

And on a practical note . . . if you are correct, then where is it's Authority?

Much love!

Yes, I also believe every Word, was inspired by God....and the NATURAL understanding of Gods Word, was given men to wonder, weigh, mindfully conclude......
AND Gods Understanding of the SAME VERSE obviously IS A SPIRITUAL Understanding, since God IS SPIRIT, and does not dally, guess, weigh between this and that, or logically Conclude....His Spiritual Understanding IS PERFECT.
And HIS Spiritual Understanding of Scripture IS: an OFFERED GIFT "TO":
Those WHO ARE "IN" Christ....
(Ie the Committed FAITHFUL Believers BOTH "IN" God and Jesus the Christ Messiah.)

The condonrum appears to be.... FEW "IN" Christ, ACTUALLY TAKE ADVANTAGE of Gods OFFER, of His Understanding.

Seems they become TAUGHT, to weigh, cipher, and LOGICALLY with their MIND to conclude what SCRIPTURE MEANS.... WHEN ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS reveal their genuine INTEREST in a passage by Reading and STUDYING a passage, and ASK the Lord FOR HIS UNDERSTANDIG...<--- Spiritual Understanding of HIS OWN APPROVED words!

AND REMEMBER...the Carnal MIND is AGAINST God...so THEY SHOULD stop relying on the Carnal Mind, to understand Gods Spiritual Understanding of HIS OWN approved words.

God Bless,

If there's conflict...there's something you're not understanding.
There's no conflict in God's word...except for some small stuff that's irrelevant.
