'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
.. who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
.. hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
.... For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
...... God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh,
........ and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,
.. who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.'
(Rom 8:1-4)
Hello @Taken,
You refer, in an earlier post, to the Lord Jesus Christ being made in the, 'likeness', of man. It caught my eye as I was glancing through, for I am not following your argument with BreadOfLife, which has become personal to you two I feel.
* In regard to 'sinful flesh' it is said that God sent His Own Son in it's 'likeness' only. I am glad that you made that point.
* I love the teaching concerning the Kinsman Redeemer, which necessitated that our Lord should be made like unto His Brethren (Israel), that He may become their Kinsman Redeemer, Their Deliverer, foretold by the OT prophets.
'Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
.. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
.... But made Himself of no reputation,
...... and took upon Him the form of a servant,
........ and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man,
.. He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death,
.... even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him,
.. and given Him a name which is above every name:
.... That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
...... of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
........ And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
.......... to the glory of God the Father.'
(Philippians 2:5-11)
Praise His Holy Name!
Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
