Acts 2:38 refers to baptism. As far as I know, baptism allows the forgiveness of past sins only. Catholic confession (the Sacrament of Penance) allows the forgiveness of sins committed after baptism - “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1John 1:9).That is my understanding - the priest represents Christ.

Since you find that “Super creepy”, you have a problem, because it is actually super scriptural - John 20:21-23.
The priest is the mediator between God and man?

Exod. 25:18-19
And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover. Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends. The cherubim are to have their wings spread upward, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking toward the cover.

Num. 1:8-9
The LORD said to Moses, "Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live." So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, they lived.

YOUR
turn, Einstein . . .
The RCC just debunked this...

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them....

Sooooo, burying people in the earth is wrong??

Chapter and Verse
, Einstein . . .
You missed it.

Baptism is a water burial per Jesus and the eunuch.

You ended repentance(death) and immersion(burial).

The RCC sprinkles the living now.

Uhhhhhh, “Sister” Charlotte’s – better known as Charlotte Keckler (NOT “Wells”, as she claimed) story is so full of gaping holes that it’s a wonder that gullible rubes like yourself still fall for this kind of tripe.

Let’s start with her blatant lies – then we’ll talk about her bizarre “un-Catholic” lingo and the fact that there is ZERO evidence to support her claims. In fact – there is NO evidence that she was ever even a baptized Catholic – let alone, a Carmelite nun.

ONE of her blatant lies was:
You know a Roman Catholic can lie to you. And they don’t have to go to confession and tell the priest about the lie that they’ve told, because they’re lying to protect their faith. They can tell any lie they want to protect their faith and never go to the confessional box and tell the priest about it.”
Telling a lie – even it if it to promote a greater good is a SINFUL act, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2480).

- She also claimed that Catholics could steal $40 - without penalty of sin.
Another LIE, which is proven by the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2401).

- She claimed that she was a Carmelite nun, which is a CLOISTERED order – but that she also did hospital work. There is NO such thing as a “part” time cloistered nun.

- She claimed that her convent had approximately 180 nuns.
Carmelite convents have a maximum of TWENTY nuns - NOT 180 as she claimed.

- She claimed that all of the “horrors” in her story went on behind the walls of her convent – yet NEVER revealed the NAME of the convent.

- She claimed in her story: “I’m not afraid of anybody in all of this world. I’m a child of God. And I believe God won’t let anybody put a hand on me until my work is finished.”
If she was so “unafraid” and convinced she was doing the right thing, WHY hider her name and the name of the supposed convent??

- Referring to the “Stations of the Cross” – the common name for the Catholic prayer commemorating the passion of our Lord – she referred to it as “the fourteen steps that Jesus carried the cross of Calvary”. There’s not a Catholic alive who would refer to it as this.

- Referring to “going to confession” – she referred to it as “going to confessional”.
Again – you won’t find a SINGLE Catholic pon planet earth who would refer to it as this.

Sounds like YOU’VE been HAD, sparky . . .
I am glad you reviewed her testimony.

Time to admit that the RCC had lime pits with dead babies in them with rape rooms run by Mother Superior, torturing them to do "penance" for the sins of the world.

What a heritage.

I sure miss the 1st century church of Acts....don't you?

As a matter of fact, the RCC is clearly the Harlot of the book of Rev.

It's ruled from Rome.

At the return of Jesus Christ, Rome will burn before the world as a memorial of the false Christian church and will never be inhabited for the entire 1000 years.

It is scriptural fact
No, it's YOUR perversion . . .
Another example of the wise words of Peter who said that the ignorant and unstable twist the Scriptures to their own destruction (2 Pet. 3:16).

The leading candidate for Harlot of Babylon is apostate Jerusalem:
- Jerusalem sits on 7 Hills. Vatican Hill is NOT one of the 7 hills of Rome.

- Apostate Jerusalem is referred to as the “Harlot” in Isaiah 1:21.

- The Harlot is “drunk on the blood of the saints” (Rev. 17:4). Apostate Jerusalem not only murdered the Prophets (Matt. 23:37) – she aligned herself with Pagan Rome in the persecution and murder the Early Christians (Acts 7:54-56, Acts 8:3).

- Apostate Jerusalem is where Christ was crucified and is referred to in Rev. 11 as the “great city” figuratively called “Sodom” and “Egypt”.

Not sure how many times I have to tell you but - DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
I’m embarrassed for you . . .

Rome killed the saints in the first century, and the continued killing saints after becoming the state church through the dark ages into the reformers.

Does it not make you wonder that the RCC rules from Rome today?

Now, look at the city of Rome after the return of Jesus Christ......

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

....exactly, found no more at all....ever.

This is the prophesied future of the RCC.

They are even continuing to rule over protestant and oneness churches in many of their core doctrines they introduced.

They will be made example of by God as the counterfeit Christian church throughout the millennial reign of Christ.

I’ve never seen a Baptism by “sprinkling – and neither have YOU.

As I schooled you earlier – we Baptize either by immersion or by pouring over the head three times, as prescribed by the Teachings of the Twelve Apostles (The Didache).

NOWHERE in the entire NT is there an example of full immersion Baptism.
It is only implied – not described.
Funny how you can never back up your idiotic drivel with Scripture . . .

Yeah, I can't remember when I was baptized by sprinkling either as an infant.

This you and I have in common.

And hundreds of thousands of Catholics were murdered by Protestants including some of the so-called “Reformers” like John Calvin and his minions, Henry VIII and his bloodthirsty daughter Elizabeth I and many others.

Ummmmmm, are they part of the “Harlot”??
Your woefully-ignorant posts are embarrassingly stupid . . .

They fought back.
Also, notice Rome being completely wiped out by God in the passage of Rev 18.
Question, why does God wipe it out to be uninhabited for the entire 1000 years?
