Some people have such parties in their own homes. Do you want to outlaw it?

I think you are closing your ears to my argument. My point was that it will spill into the streets eventually, and then into the public square, and because of the spiritual forces at work driving men to more and more depravity, the end result will be ever-increasingly licentious sin. Sodom and Gomorrah didn't get to the place where their governments were endorsing the rape of immigrants and strangers overnight. It happened progressively, as the people in those cities gave themselves to increasing moral depravity. Where it got them in the end was not good.

My answer to your question was yes.

Sexual sin is different from other sin in that it is against one's own body. We sin against God, we sin against others, in the sense that our sins violate them.

1 Corinthians 6:18 "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."

Sexual sin is self harming. Using the body in ways God didn't intend damages the user, physically, mentally, emotionally, there is deep harm to the soul.

So do I oppose it?

I don't need to. God does. Who listens to my voice? But I'll repeat what He says for whomever IS listening.

There is a reality of what homosexuality it, and what it does to people, that I think we do well to recognize.

Much love!

I think you're straining at a gnat here. The more private sex clubs a city allows, the more the things that go on there will be considered "acceptable" in modern society, and the more they are considered acceptable the more it will eventually spill out into the streets. This is just my point: Over-permissiveness in the name of preserving freedom will result in the moral disintegration of society, and don't look now but they are teaching our children in public schools from the earliest ages now not just to accept practices that our God describes as immoral, sinful and capable of sending someone to Hell if they give themselves to it, but they are training our children to endorse them. This is yet another case in point that things will not simply stay the same. They will go down the drain morally of there is nothing there to stop the momentum, and at the current time the church is most certainly not going to do the job. If the State does not, no one will.
And in point of fact exposing children to these practices during their early developmental years changes how their brains develop. Being as these are developmental changes, they are life long, and result in changes in cognition, memory storage and retreaval, emotional processing, there's more!

Let's stop putting a gay face on this terrible disorder! The damnable practices in our schools are inculcating a generation with vanity, emptiness of values, character, principle, you name it!

God help us! Thankfully He does!

Much love!

You're hitting too close to home : ) Just got back from a Burger King where I had a wonderful encounter with the teenager at the window. Seems that "customer service" includes addressing full grown adults like they are idiots, LoL.

Studying law I can say that document is considered the highest law of the land with other laws underneath it.

As far as the OP he is a pretender and not a true Christian. The OP only wants to serve himself not God. Many of those kind are coming here now for some reason, maybe Satan is sending them

Having studied law, I can honestly say that no Bill of Rights is the law of any land. It may be referred to in applying the law but it is not the law.

Amen Rita,
Every one of us had "habitual sin" before coming to The Lord.! And, if others on here think that God will change your orientation, think again...doesn't happen that way, sexual orientation does not change. And please don't anyone start on that so called "reformative therapy"!
You will end up worse, the empty promises and feeling that you are less than normal will leave you drowning in a sea of shame. And, if you were fortunate enough to come out of that terrible type of therepy and have not offed yourself yet...run for the hills cause you are hated beyond sense...and the pithy saying"hate the sin, love the sinner" is bunk, just plain bunk. In my book, if one is gay (not bi!) the only choice they have is forced celibacy, and to depend on God's grace to keep you content and He will do that. If a gay marries a straight person, it is not fair at all to the either spouse. They go through the motions and sometimes will refuse to have sexual relations with the opposite sex spouse. So, no...orientation does NOT change. It is not that God couldn't but...He just does not do that! His grace is sufficient but, non believers do not understand that so, this is such a
conundrum. God help us ALL.
Sorry Rita, guess I sounded off here after replying
Sorry to burst your bubble Nancy but speaking as one who has ministered to homosexuals who didn't want to be, I can assure you that God is quite capable of changing your mindset and giving you new life in Christ.

The reason for this is that being homosexual is not your true identity. God made us male and female and gave us the desire to marry the opposite sex and to produce children (be fruitful and multiply). Along came Satan and distorted that to give people a desire for same-sex sex. He achieved this by distorting a person's image so that he does not identify according to his God-given image.

That image came from his own family and the church family and I don't know if you are aware that Satan is making a full-frontal attack on the family and the church as he knows if he can destroy those he has won. The more families he can break up the more candidates he has for homosexual perversion as you will never find a homosexual that comes from an unbroken supportive family.

If your identity is not in Christ, there are all sorts of problems that can arise, homosexuality is just one of them. Whenever I counselled a homosexual the first thing I always asked them was about their family situation. "Tell me about your family." One young man who was the middle brother of three was resentful towards his father because when he came home from work, he gave the eldest and youngest brother a hug but did not give one to him. He took on homosexuality, his brothers didn't.

Everything that is not of God and homosexuality isn't can be healed and dealt with and replaced with a true identity in Christ which means that a person can have their orientation changed because if they can't God is not God and Jesus is not our Saviour. He is only Saviour of some.

Private, competent, consenting adults should be able to engage in private behavior in the privacy of their own homes. Do you agree?

Sure...However Society dictates...to Expose the World (including children), to your private escapades... and not to worry, because Society is also dictating ANYTHING and EVERYTHING is acceptable.

And ... what was once commonly frowned upon, we know is quickly being accepted, by many family members, in an effort to keep a relationship with the family member who is homosexual and as well criminals.

One may think privacy of what adults do in their homes IS private and only affects the consenting adults...
Yet every family member in the same home are affected.

Glory to God,
Taken

I wouldn't necessarily "support" it, nor would I attempt to use government to stop them from doing so.

If Christians want to use government to prevent sinful behavior, why stop at homosexuality?

At one time adultery was punishable, so wasn't drunkenness. But we as a nation move further and further down the road of biblical ignorance, it will be harder and harder to promote laws that cause a nation to be blessed. This isn't about hurting people or deprioving them, but seeing Gods blessing flourish in a land.

Murder, bestiality, abortion, pedophilia, etc., are different than homosexuality in that they involve the victimization of an involuntary, innocent person. Not analogous.

But both are equally sin in Gods eyes and bring harm to a nation.

Yes, but does that mean that we Christians are supposed to force non-believers to conform to our belief system? Should we, through the force of government, outlaw same-sex marriage, outlaw practicing in other religions, criminalize pre-marital sex, etc., etc., etc.?

But in this nation we have for now the freedom to promote laws that will bless and not harm this land. Would you prefer the opposite and have the unbeliever force their ways upon us? It has already started with these lawsuits agains bakeries and photographers being sued for not wanting to participate in a gay wedding.

a person is no more born gay than a person born as murderer, pedophile or any other sin.

next.............

I am beginning to have my doubts. I used to strongly believe that people are not born this way, but given the fact all humanity is born with a sin nature, born dead in sin, and then when you add this:

Romans 1:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

Many sins alter the psyche of a person and many sins also mutate the genome of the person. It could be physically possible that when God gives a nation over to due to its sinfulness, that mutations in the brain could occur and people are born pre disposed to particular sins. We are now predisposed to sin already. More medical studies would need to be done on this.

That is not in dispute.

Then you need to remember that Jesus said you are either for me or against me. There is no neutral ground.

That does not mean we hate sinners for their sin , but we can speak out and oppose all laws that would sanction sin.

Do you want to use government to force non-believers to abstain from pre-marital sex, getting drunk, getting fat, engaging in homosexuality, worshiping Allah, etc.? I don't. What is the biblical basis for Christians to establish a totalitarian theocracy on the entire world?

Well I am sorry you feel godliness is totalitarian. For it is not. We were originally designed to please God and we never can find happiness until we are born again and seek to fulfill our design.

Do you prefer we rid the land of laws against murder then? Theft? Rebellion against government? Perjury? these are all godly laws! Why are these not totalitarian.

My first vote would be to remove government from the marriage business. Yes, I would vote to legalize same-sex marriage.

Should we Christians force non-Christians to bend to our will? Should we outlaw mosques? What's worse, engaging in homosexuality or worshipping another God?
We can not ‘force’ anyone to bend to our will. A person has to accept Christ on their own. As Christians we are to vote according to Christian morale convictions. A “vote to legalize same-sex marriage” is a vote against Christian morale convictions.

According to Scripture BOTH homosexuality and worshiping another God is a sin. A sin is a sin.

If it’s a theocracy then you should be against it since you don’t want to live under a theocracy.

The Constitution says “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.“.

Of course, the atheists, secularists, evolutionists, etc do not want us to have any say in the government of our country because if we do it will upset the apple cart for them as they will not be able legally to indulge in soul-destroying sins which affect everyone.

We were told that if we legalized same-sex marriage that would only be the beginning. Of course, the Gaystapo who are specialists in lying said all we want is the right to get married. Behind closed doors, they said this is only the beginning. What we are planning is the total destruction of the family as we know it and to make anything sexual legal so that there is no such thing as illegal sex.

As is the case today, we believed the lies and ignored the truth. NAMBLA, the North American Man-Boy Love Association has petitioned the government and asked that Man-Boy love be legalized because they were born that way so it should not be illegal.

I tell you now, you ain't seen nothing yet. Won't be long before there is a fight to make incest legal.

As I said in my OP, stealing and murder adversely affects an innocent third-party, wherein same-sex marriage only affects the same-sex couple and they enter into voluntarily.
You couldn't be more wrong. The mindset behind same sex marriage is the same mindset that allows 6 year old girls to compete in beauty pageants. The same mindset that allows drag queens to read to your grandchildren in local libraries. The same mindset that has liberal teachers and politicians forbid you from confirming your 5 year old son in his male status. The same mindset that takes you to court and prosecutes you for refusing to call a woman "he". I could go on.
There is no such thing as no innocent collateral damage when it comes to open flagrant sin.
