For everybody who has been judging me and @historyb for enjoying Halloween and horror films,.. I just wanted to throw a bit of scripture on you since you're using scripture to bash us. Btw,.. I have taken you all off my ignore list because I'm really curious to see your responses.

Now let's look at scripture...
1 Thessalonians 5 (KJV)

¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
¹⁵ See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.
¹⁸ In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
¹⁹ Quench not the Spirit.
²⁰ Despise not prophesyings.

²² Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Now this verse 22 is one that needs to be further studied....what does God consider the appearance of evil?

Don't be too anxious to test other people randomly. The time may arrive when you have no choice, but consider also the way that the other fellow is walking with God. He may not be able to watch and enjoy certain things as you do and at the same time be able to stand on the Lord's side. For him the temptation may lead him right into his own besetting sin. You would not want to needlessly be the cause of that would you?

"Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak." Rom 14:19-21

Probably something that's real and not fake. As we would obviously stay away from evil in real life. No offense or anything since I love you and all but are you just going to ignore the scripture that I quoted? I answered your question so I'm expecting answers for what I posted.

You assigned no names to your OP asking the question generally and so I answered it as I saw it. Each person can make his own choices and lead his own life with God he sees it. I agree that so long as it doesn't interfere with another person's walk with God, we should usually keep our hands off. I say, usually, because sometimes, it may be God that presses a person to jump into the situation. If that were the case, he would be in trouble with God if he ignored God.

And we've said that a million bazillion times but nobody is listening and so I'm considering it harassment and completely and utterly annoying. As I was also telling history earlier,.. sometimes we have to familiarize ourselves with evil and how real it really is so we can know how, why, where, and when to stay away from it in real life.

People bearing the label Christian are usually a mixed bag. Good things come out of generally evil mouths and vice versa. Perhaps good ideas can come also from the some seemingly very evil movies for some man put together the plot. The key however for a very young or inexperienced person may be having someone or something to help the person see that difference. Sometimes for some people the very best option for them is complete abstinence or avoidance...

LOL... spend some time with the devil in order to know better what not to do? We would probably be hard pressed in find that spelled by the written words attributed to either Jesus or the apostle Paul.

I agree that parents should be guiding their children in the right way to go. I am not so sure that having their children walk on a bed a hot coals is the best way teach not to do that in the future.

And what is the very first thing on our daily list of things to do? Should we ignore any and every suggestion that we may be in error? If we are so certain that we are right, why even start a thread like this one? Why discuss anything with anyone?

I agree that we should never judge others....and in fairness both parties in the other thread are guilty of accusing the other of judging. It's a fine line we walk when trying to discuss something that is controversial.

My question about horror movies.....would you play one in church?
My point is the Christian Forum is here to discuss the Word of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and our personal experiences related to them. There are a couple of secular forums- ethics and morality and politics.
But the main point is that it is the owner's and staff's hope and prayer that members who come will be edified and lifted up by the sharing of His Word. And even that one who doesn't know Christ might be saved.
Yes there are some fun threads but they don't have any appearance of evil in them.
I have been attacked by real demons...and even had one cast out of me....when and where did a door open that allowed them access to me? Numerous ways....Quiji boards, horror movies, demonic movies, rape and incest....and on and on. Even astrology and psychic readings.

Really wow, sorry to hear that,.. but I think there should be a rule that one may give their own opinions and advice but when another member on here says quit it then they should have to quit and leave them alone. Cause I think history and I have made it obvious we're not interested in having our minds changed, and we just want peace, to be left alone, and live our own lives, continue our own walks,.. and not have to deal with being accused of not being Christians. Just please stop it everybody enough. It's getting old fast. (For the record I also hate putting people on ignore but it's the only thing I got to make them shut up about it. )

It's okay to have your opinion and beliefs about things....and share your experiences in relation to them.
It's also equally okay for someone else to share their beliefs and experiences in opposition to yours.
Now if you want to discuss the topic without opposing views then I suggest having a private conversation and invite who you want to join.

It's also equally okay for someone else to share their beliefs and experiences in opposition to yours.

If 7-8 Halloween-related threads in a week is to be equated with spiritual pearls you are casting before us, wouldn't you be wise to do as this scripture says and leave us swine alone about it? That's what the Lord Jesus Christ is saying here, so it becomes a question of will you obey it or not. Will you?
