I would just encourage people to "get this one done"...baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins...
All of the arguments against getting this done amount to one thing...you are gambling on eternity if you believe this propaganda that you can be saved apart from baptism in Jesus' Name.
It may indeed be true that you can be saved apart from it (after all, whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13))...but why would you take the chance? Especially since in New Testament times, people called on the name of the Lord at the time of baptism (see Acts of the Apostles 22:16).
If you bank on the idea that you can be saved apart from baptism in Jesus' Name, you are gambling on eternity...
I would suggest taking a wild look at Acts of the Apostles 2:39 in its context and compare that verse to Romans 8:30...
I believe that you will find that the Holy Ghost is conditionally promised to as many as the Lord our God shall call...
And that if you are not called, you have not been predestinated, and neither will you be justified or glorified.
The condition for this promise of the Holy Ghost is repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins...
