Yup, Scripture teaches there are sound doctrines and false doctrines put forth by false teachers. soooooooo we must all come to the same conclusion just like they did at the council of Jerusalem.
Jesus prayer: I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
Notice how Jesus didn't pray that we may all have our own interpretations, our own beliefs or be divided. Scripture makes it clear in MUTLITPLE PASSAGES that we must all come to the same conclusion.
I prefer to follow the teaching of Scripture and fulfill Jesus prayer. Do you?
i agree that we should not follow false teachers, Jesus teaches we can spot bad teachers by their fruit, examples of bad fruit would be burning people alive, torturing people, persecuting Christians, burning villages to the ground full of innocent women and children. you sure dont want to follow those kind of church leaders.
"one" means everyone is the same? by this logic, you, me, Jesus and the Father are all the same? ohh boy . .
there is no passage that all believers interoperate scripture the same way. the scripture in question was someone that refuses to listen to sound doctrine and you believe your group is the final authority on what is "sound doctrine", sorry but you have no more authority than me and a group of good ole boys from down the road.
i am sure Jim Jones had some good sounding doctrine, but we know he was a bad teacher because he did not practice what he preached, what he practiced was abuse, drugs, homosexuality, and adultery which is no worse than burning people alive and torture.
another problem with your theory. Jesus was of the Nazarene sect, John was of the Essene sect. two different sects so which one was wrong, the Christ or the greatest prophet of the Most High.
