The He was in italics (which means it is not included in the original manuscripts); but even if it stands as being valid, it is explained by John 8:27 who the "He" is that Jesus is speaking of.

makes no difference if the "he" is in italics, the phrase is understood as i am him, he, the one, someone etc. we know this because when hearing this the Jews asked "who are you?", or in other words, who is "he"?

and in John 10 you have Jesus and the Jews having this exact same conversation again, this time they want to stone Him for His claims but this time Jesus says who He is claiming to be, the "Son of" the Most High, not the Most High.
"son of" the Most High is not the Most High, the Most High is not anyone's son, that is why He is called "Most High".

Hi @jaybird,

Is the Father the Most High to you?

I would say that "the son that was given" shall have the name of "The everlasting Father" according to Isaiah 9:6.

In order to deny this you have to resort to eisegesis and change the wording of the kjv not once, but twice.

Did Jesus appear to you, in the flesh, and specifically tell you that He isn't God?

Did you feel His human touch when He appeared to you?

If you answer yes to both of the above, then your experience is anti-biblical; and you have a choice to make.

To believe either the holy scriptures or your experience (you may be mentally ill to the point of having hallucinations that extend even to the touch).

I will say to you that there are times when we have to walk by faith and not by sight.

By what the scriptures teach us rather than by our experience.

But I am interested in your answers to the questions at the beginning of this post.
Wont matter what any one says, you read the bible, you made your picture of Jesus and you wont change it because it makes you happy, good for you. And we are all wrong since no one listens to you.

If I allow Him to, Holy Spirit uses His sword on my heart.
In recovery circles, it called, "working my own program."

You put the word down while saying you have Jesus.
Jesus is the word, you can't have one without the other.
Would you mind explaining how you can say the scriptures aren't the living word
While stating you have Jesus?

i dont remember Jesus ever calling Himself the everlasting Father.
the phrase is Father of eternity, i dont think its saying the Son is the Father, because that would make no sense at all, not to mention the Jews were not expecting the Father, as well as this idea screws up the trinity doctrine which states the Son is not the Father. it probable means Jesus, if refering to Jesus, is an initiator or founder, as others in the bible are called "father" as in father of music, herding, etc.
i think Jesus was calling Himself son of the Most High which meant that he was of the heavens and not this world which is why they were trying to stone Him. He even says they were stoning Him for claiming to be Son of the Most High.

Amen to that He is..... never said He wasnt in fact if you bother I mention that in every post.

Yet you continually put down the bible.

From looking at athiests and satanists they put down the bible and go to the extreme of burning bibles. Bible bashing of all sorts is very telling of who's spirit you are of.

There are those who listen to me for it is my prayer that such would be the case.

I don't change my image of Jesus, not because it makes me happy; but because I want to stay with an accurate image of who He is.

Even the bible says they read it because they dont believe Him...

Where, exactly, does it say that?

For it does not exactly say that in John 5:39-40 (kjv).

Jhn 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Jhn 5:40, And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

i dont remember Jesus ever calling Himself the everlasting Father.

He identified Himself as the great I AM in John 8:58.

The Pharisees understood His claim that He was referring back to Exodus 3:14; and they picked up stones to stone Him for blasphemy; and "because thou, being a man, makest thyself God." (John 8:59, John 10:31-33)

the phrase is Father of eternity,

The Father of eternity is still the Father.

is an initiator or founder, as others in the bible are called "father" as in father of music, herding, etc.

There, you changed it a second time.

Amen to that He is..... never said He wasnt in fact if you bother I mention that in every post.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1.

Christianity 101.

i dont think you know what blasphemy means, it is not specific to claiming to be the Most High, it means profaning the name. claiming to be godly, of the heavens, fell under blasphemy. Jesus even says he was claiming to be the Son of the Most High.

do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?

The Father of eternity is still the Father.

Genesis 4:20
Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and raise livestock.

so Jabal must be the Most High as well, bible says he is the father.

There, you changed it a second time.
???

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1.

the Father spoke and thngs were created, i never said different.

Put down the bible , God said something about idols, You have the living Jesus but prefer the dead letter, like it says ,you read it because you dont believe Him, nor will you got to Him to receive life. And you wont that is why so few will be at His wedding.

Luk_13:25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

You put Him second to the bible, He may as well be last.

That is not the sword they are using, the bible is the blunt one it brings division because men refuse to go to the one who is the truth love leaning on their own wisdom and understanding.

Even the bible says they read it because they dont believe Him...
Maybe the bible is like training wheels. Shalom

No worry, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6 NIV :)

You've got to be laughing at yourself for the things you say.
You put down scripture and when others defend it you accuse them of idolatry. That is a laughable argument and a logical fallacy.

His word is living not dead so that is a lie
God will hold you accountable for perpetuating lies.

You say someone reads the scriptures about Jesus because they don't have him? That is the most self contradicting thing I've ever read on these boards and it makes you look like a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I'm finished standing up for the evening.

That's just plain stupid.

I was responding to @mjrhealth, who said that he agreed that Jesus is the Word. Just wondering how he doesn't believe that Jesus was God in light of his statement and John 1:1.

Put down the bible , God said something about idols,

The Bible is not a graven image.

You have the living Jesus but prefer the dead letter, like it says ,you read it because you dont believe Him, nor will you got to Him to receive life. And you wont that is why so few will be at His wedding.

The scriptures are they which testify of Him...if the Jesus we believe in is a Jesus that is not testified of by the holy scriptures, then we have a different Jesus (see 2 Corinthians 11:3-4).

That kind of tactic might work with someone who doesn't know that they know that they know that they are saved; but it isn't going to work with me or with others who know that they know that they know that they are saved because they have received the truth that Jesus is the Divine Son of God; even according to the definition that is faithfully given in Isaiah 9:6, that He is the everlasting Father.

You say someone reads the scriptures about Jesus because they don't have him?

Joh 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Joh 5:41 I receive not honour from men.

Thats exactly what is says. You dont believe Him... If you did you wouldnt need them because you would have Him.. Which do you prefer, your husband or a book written by men about Him..

You reject the Jesus of the holy scriptures; because you believe in a Jesus that is not described by the holy scriptures; while Jesus, in your favorite passage to quote to us, said that the scriptures are they which testify of Him.

How is it then that you do not receive their testimony?

You will not come to the Jesus that is described by the holy scriptures in order that you might have life.

Also, in John 5:39, the very first words in the verse tell you to do what? Search the holy scriptures; for these are they which testify of Christ...
