Acts 2:38 has been refuted?
By whom?
His imagination.
Seem to be a lot of that found on this forum.

Acts 2:38 has been refuted?
By whom?
No; the idea that Peter had not been water baptized yet when Acts 2:38-39 rolled around.Acts 2:38 has been refuted?
By whom?
The baptism of the Holy Ghost does not remit sins, but leads a person to find remission of sins per Acts 2:38.Not once.
Peter was not water baptized in Acts 2.........yet, he is speaking in tongues, before he preaches the message, of "repent".
Neither were those in the upper room, water baptized.
Thats the reality.
Did you do a baptismal census of Acts 2?No; the idea that Peter had not been water baptized yet when Acts 2:38-39 rolled around.
It's not the reality (did I perhaps refute this in a different thread? I will repeat it again here). Not once.
Peter was not water baptized in Acts 2.........yet, he is speaking in tongues, before he preaches the message, of "repent".

16 He that believeth and is NOT baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
The OP think Jesus meant this.
So you think Jesus meant "he that believeth and is NOT baptized shall be saved"?Lets look at your verse with honest eyes.
Notice, """"he who believes and is baptized....shall be saved, and he who does not BELIEVE = shall be damned."""
See that?
Its only by not BELIEVING that you are DAMNED.
The water is not a part of it.
So, what damns you, is only the BELIEVING NOT............and that is because the water has no power to save, so, it has no power at all.
But if you dont BELIEVE, you will go to hell, and if you do believe, you wont.
Water need not apply.
Yes, faith alone can save you.Lets look at your verse with honest eyes.

Those that don't believe, and are obviously not willing to be baptized, will obviously be damned.Yes, faith alone can save you.
Those who merely believe "should not perish" (John 3:16)
Those who believe and are baptized "shall be saved" (Mark 16:16)
Those who call on the name of the Lord "shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
Merely believing is too iffy of a prospect for me to have never been baptized.
In the days of the early church, people called on the name of the Lord when they were baptized (Acts of the Apostles 22:16).
That is why I believe it was expedient for me to receive baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins.
Thank you @FluffyYellowDuck,A lot of unnecessary attacks on a fellow member, when you're not actually being provoked... I think you need to sit down.
@justbyfaith I wouldn't bother with this. You're loved here.
Those that don't believe, and are obviously not willing to be baptized, will obviously be damned.
Jesus was spot on.
3,000 were saved on that day.Did you do a baptismal census of Acts 2?
Only anti-baptismal folks would teach it is hard to find a bath tub.Yes, if you genuinely believe you will be baptized when given the opportunity.
What makes you think that Peter and the 120 were not baptized at that juncture?
Truly, a man can be saved through water baptism; Here is what Christendom now teaches in these last days before the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ....
16 He that believeth and is SAVED shall be BAPTIZED; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And I have no idea how they got this crazy.
Not given; however the number is recorded in Acts of the Apostles 2:41. I just noticed that it was an approximate number.Their names please.
They spoke in tongues before verse 38.Because the water cult lie is this .....during the water baptism, you "get the gift of the Holy Spirit". "the gift of tongues" and are born again, according to Acts 2.
So, notice, ..>Peter did not speak in Tongues, until Acts 2:38., as He was told by JESUS to go to Jerusalem, and wait for that power from on High.
And it FELL., before Peter preaches.... and Peter was born again, and began to speak in Tongues,...before he preached the John the Baptist message you find in the Old Testament = repent and get wet.
So, no water is involved with Peter, before he Preached, ....and he was born again and speaking in tongues already as that power from on high fell on Him, and the 120.
Yet the water cults say this is when it happens......in the water, and by the water.
Well, it didnt happen to Peter that way, and it didnt happen to the 120 in the upper room that way.
Did God make a mistake that day?
Or is water cult theology a "doctrine of devils".
A.) doctrine of devils.
So, now lets do the HONEST MATH as this is supposed to be a "christian" forum, right?
= That is The dying Thief who was saved and there was no WATER BAPTISM.
Now you have Peter and the 120 in the Upper Room, all born again, speaking in tongues, and there is NO WATER BAPTISM involved.
THATS BIBLE, for those of you who read one and are not lost is commentaries and water cults.
Remember now...>Peter was telling those jews to get water baptized, AFTER - Peter is already speaking in tongues, not having been water baptized.
See that?
TRY LOOKING !
So, the math says that 1 dying thief and 120 believers, including Peter, =121 BELIEVER all born again...who didnt get water baptized before they were saved, and 120 spoke in tongues..
Thats the reality check.
=Water has nothing to do with being born again.
NOTHING !
