How important is it to think no evil? That is the sole reason why God had flooded the world in the first place because man was thinking evil continuously.

Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Confirmation of that reason for why God flooded the earth afterwards.

Genesis 8:20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

How about now after we have been saved by faith in Jesus Christ/

Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man:

The consequence for defiling ourselves?

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Looks like in that day, when God judges us, those who have not repented daily with His help, but entertain themselves with evil thoughts & wicked imaginations in reaping corruption, will get left behind to die, but their spirits will be with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

Next post; what can we look to Jesus Christ for daily to help us do with our evil thoughts?

Ask Jesus Christ for help to let you know when your eye and your heart is not right with Him daily to lead you away from temptation & deliver you from the evil one. It doesn't matter how bad your thoughts are, Jesus can deliver you from continuing in them every moment of every day.

Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Colossians 3:1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Psalm 19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. 12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.... 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

It is important, and like your final statement, with Gods help through Jesus we may be able to lesson it, eventually blotting it out, but it will take near a millennium for many of us to do so.

It is part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ in running that race by looking to the author & finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ, to help us lay aside every weight & sin daily until one day He brings us Home faultless by His righteousness and thus made perfect to live with God for ever in Heaven.

May I ask Chris, why did God create the earth?

This eventual kingdom of God when Jesus hands the kingdom back to the Father.

Psalm 72:19And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Psalm 146:6Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

It is critical. As the Lord says: "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he". By default we will think evil. by rebirth- we learn to think right.

Over the decades, I have taught all my classes this truth:
"Right living comes from right thinking"
"Right thinking comes from right knowledge"
"Right knowledge comes from the Word of God".

We do only what we know to do.

Thank you for sharing, but be sure that readers are not confusing that with mind over matter in new age methodology since we are to trust Christ Jesus as our Good Shepherd & Friend Whom is in us always, for help daily to cast down wicked imaginations, & evil thoughts & think on good things.

For the world we live in, influencing us through the media and the company we work with & keep, & not to mention the devil tempting us when we least expect it like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, we need Jesus to stay sober & vigilant and to help us think rightly daily.

It may very well be that the Lord will lead us to put away those weights i.e. provisions for the flesh that feeds the temptations in us whether it is to stop watching a Tv show, a movie, music or the rowdy bunch of guys that believers may be hanging out with or a provocative environment.

If any one has a hard time trying to stop thinking evil and to dwell on good things, pray to Jesus Christ at that throne of grace for help, even when there is no time out or private place to pray. Just pray right then and there by going before that throne of grace for help in our time of need.

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

This is almost a difficult thing to contemplate Chris, as you are indicating that God created this world knowing full well that Adam would sin, and the sad thing is I cannot refute that, as I believe that as well, although I do not believe it was His intent. He created the earth to be inhabited Isa 45:18. He intended for man to procreate and fill the earth. And like you say, when everything is brought into it's original harmony with God, we will have the intent fulfilled.

Yes, when this is fulfilled it will be forever. Yet I still sense that you may not believe that we will be living on the earth, rather I am thinking you mean heaven.

Well that "formula" I teach is not New Age Methodology! It is just paraphraing Romans 12:1-2 into a colloquial modern phrase!

Romans 12:1-2
King James Version

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

By default we conform to the worlds pattern of thinking-

but if we are to live right, we need right knowledge first to know what is right, and we need to know that the Word of God is the right knowlege we must take in to learn how to live right. And once we have had changes in our thoughts- then we can live right!

Yes, when this is fulfilled it will be forever. Yet I still sense that you may not believe that we will be living on the earth, rather I am thinking you mean heaven.

When I read the parable of the kingdom of Heaven here;

Matthew 13:33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

I see Christ's the firstfruits as partakers of the resurrection when they will be like the angels that never die nor marry as vessels of God & silver in His House.

I see those carnal saints & former believers left behind to be with new believers as a result when the gospel is preached every where by that first angel, then the end will come by that fiery calamity on the third of the earth ( Revelation 8:7-13 & 2 Peter 3:3-18 ) which will set up the New World Order & the mark of the beast system to buy & sell as the only way to survive ( Revelation 13:8 & Revelation 13:16-18 ) while the beast wage war on the saints to kill with the sword & hunger ( Revelation 6:8 ).

These be the saints as they that be Christ's at His coming that get resurrected after Jesus has defeated the world's armies in coming back at the end of the great tribulation with the raptured saints ( Zechariah 14:1-5 ), and after Satan is cast in the pit for a thousand years, then their resurrection will happen Revelation 20:1-6 before the rest of the dead are resurrected later on at the Great White Throne Judgment.

Those resurrected after the great tribulation are the vessels unto dishonor in His House that will be vessels of wood & earth as they will marry and have children in raising up the generations following them into the 100o year reign of Christ.

Then when Satan is released from the pit after a thousand years to stage a last rebellion, those remaining loyal to the King of kings, Christ Jesus, will be of the third harvest that makes up the whole of the kingdom of Heaven thus completing it to give back to the Father. Revelation 20:7-15

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

I do not know if after that, there will be more births or not to add to that kingdom of heaven once it is completed, but the earth will still be inhabited by the vessels of wood & earth that will live forever also, since sin, death, hell will never come in between them and the Father any more.

Just saying we do those things by the mercies of God for we can do nothing without Jesus as He does the pruning so we can bear more fruit.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Thank you for sharing but just wanted to make sure nobody misread your post because how we can do anything good is with His help.

Philippians 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Well that little formula I borrowed ( I don't think it started with me) Is how God works out how we do good. god works it in me and I work it out.

but I cannot do good if I do not know what is the good to do- and that comes from reasding the bibloe, making it my frame of reference and then I can respond in grace.

Sometimes the good we are to do is unfathomable like loving our enemies or even forgiving them to not allow the devil to get a grip on our anger to waste us away with our emotions & time when we are to look forward and upward for why I need Christ Jesus to help me do that and everything.

When I read the parable of the kingdom of Heaven here;

Christ of course was first, he was the first one resurrected to everlasting life. The anointed Christians are the next of the firstfruits, those who had died prior to the first resurrection taking place, then the rest will go to heaven upon death. Those who remain alive at Jesus' return will be what many call raptured, or in other words they will die and meet Jesus in the air. 1 Thes 4:17

We believe the same as you for those who go to heaven, spirit beings that do not marry.

Thank you for sharing but I disagree with that presentation in parts.

Yes, Christ had risen to be the firstfruit of those who have slept but scripture has other N.T. saints as firstfruits also.

Romans 8:23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

So 1 Thessalonians 4:17 is referring to both O.T. saint & N.T. saints being resurrected as the living abiding disciples will go with them meeting the Lord in the air at the pre great tribulation rapture event.

That event is not at His coming as the King of kings because He return with those pre great tribulation raptured saints to touch down on the Mount of Olives to do battle with the world's armies marching against Jerusalem. Zechariah 14:1-5

Then after the world's armies is defeated and Satan is in the pit for a thousand years, that means Christ is on earth when He resurrected those saints that went through the great tribulation as that will happen first before the rest of the dead are resurrected at the Great White Throne Judgment later on. Note verse 5 in Revelation 20:1-6

We believe the same as you for those who go to heaven, spirit beings that do not marry.

Those be the firstfruits of the resurrection.

Those who are they at Christ's coming as the King of kings will be vessels of wood & earth in His House as only the power of the second death will not be over them when they are resurrected after the great tribulation to reign with Him for a thousand years.
They will be marrying and ruling as priests & kings during the millennium reign from all over the world in representing Jesus & that City of God, New Jerusalem, on earth. They will be eating from the tree of life in that City of God for the healing of the nations.

So there are vessels of gold and silver, the vessels unto honor that will be like the angels that never die & marry, and then there will be vessels of wood & earth, the vessels unto dishonor for not being ready as they will need to eat from the tree of life & they will marry to raise up the generations following in His one thousand year reign on earth.

If we think evil, we will develop a craving to do evil.
