There will be many who will desire entrance, and will cite the reason being that they did all these great works. Not that they've trusted Jesus, not that they are spiritually alive in the Spirit. That they did all these "works".

Jesus will respond, I never knew you, depart from me - your "works" are iniquity!

This has no bearing one way or the other on whether rebirth is forever, as I see it.

Much love!
It doesn't matter how you "see" it. Jesus said what He meant, and meant what He said, and He said workers of lawlessness will not be allowed entrance into the Kingdom of God.

You have literally 0 authority to decide a matter like this when Jesus spelled it out for everyone to know then and now what kind of standards they will be judged by.

The OSAS crowd claims only those Jesus never knew are cast into the Lake of Fire and those Jesus knows and has saved can't be among the "unknown". I've heard it for years.

Which is why it's important to note that Jesus said "many", not "all".

That would mean that no one believing in OSAS has any assurance they are known by Jesus and are one of the chosen.

Of course we can have the assurance that we know Him, and thus are known by Him:

"Hereby we do know that we know Him (and are known by Him) if we keep His commandments" - the reason is that we demonstrate the "agape" of God by happily keeping His commandments while the wicked can't keep them even if they wanted to.

On what? On what you posted!
This is what I posted....
all are in Adam....all are in Christ. Romans 5:12-21
Goats qualify themselves, God doesn't.

In Romans 5:12-21 Paul states the same thing five times just so we don't miss his point. He is rather clear!
As far as goats go, it is a metaphor for those who choose to be of an opposed fold to that of sheep. We choose our fold.

OSAS is ridiculous! What did Jesus say? 'Take up your cross and follow me.' That's the point of him dying on the cross and the point of the whole bible. Also, that scripture, 'Many will come in my name but I will say I never knew you! When you saw the thirsty you did not do this when you saw the.. you didn't do that.. '

The scriptures also say, 'Repent and be baptized!'

Don't forget your reference for my sake. I use 1 John 3:21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.

All are not in Christ ! Only those Chosen in Him before the foundation. His Church.

Goats qualify themselves, God doesn't.

Wrong, God made them goats, so they live like goats, they have no choice.

Luke 13:22-24 ( cxt 21-27 )
And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
THEN SAID ONE UNTO HIM,LORD ARE THERE FEW THAT BE SAVED?
And he said unto them,
Strive to enter in at the STRAIT GATE: for many I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall NOT be able.

JESUS is telling them, all that will listen, that a little LEAVEN ( little sin ) will leaven the WHOLE loaf.
He also goes on to tell any that WILL LISTEN, once the MASTER hath shut the DOOR, IT IS CLOSED.

There will be those whose hearts were not true and saved who will say ,but I was a good person, I read your word every day, I was kind, I helped ppl ect.ect.

He will tell them, no matter what doctrines they believed outside of Gods word nor what books they read, nor the church they attended.......I NEVER KNEW YOU, I KNOW NOT WHENCE YE ARE. DEPART FROM ME ,ALL YE WORKERS OF INIQUITY.

This says I NEVER knew you, Jesus is not their saviour, Lord and Master. They have NEVER accepted his free gift of salvation from the wages of sin. UNBELIEF

He doesnt know where they came from for there was no rebirth into the family of God.

They are all workers of sin as their true father the devil, who rebelled against God and rejected his authority!

Sadly there are millions who believe they are born again because the Catholic church teaches them that rebirth occurred at their 'baptisms' as infants. And this is so not true.

While that may seem something "obvious" to you, even so it's not written, and your argment is from silence. Jesus never knew them. Not that He once knew them, and no longer does, but He never did. That seems to me to show that this is not in fact a case of a born again who died again. He never knew them.

You are saying that someone cannot do works in Jesus' Name unless they know Jesus, and are saved, isn't that right? I'm saying that you can do whatever you want in whatever name you want, and it means nothing, only, do you know Jesus? Or more to the point, does He know you?

Much love!
I suspect that knowing Jesus is the problem in most of these debates, but personal knowledge of anyone is a process mediated by fellowship.

That's a very recent development in Catholic theology. It wasn't at all taught when I was in Catholic Catechism classes, and most of my contemporaries from that background, though having received religious instruction, still aren't even familiar with the term.

What are we to do then against the prophets of Baal and the doctrine of the devil.

My grand is studying in college about the Puritans and the propaganda distributed during the witch trials in Salem.

At one time in our history there was a great power and influence among religions rather than politics. Now politics is the fore-runner and religion comes second.
But what about TRUE BELIEVERS ?
What are we to do or can we do anything to change the streams flow to another direction ?
If the word of God and his Spirit can't reach them , can we ?

Seems as though on here, we give the TRUTH of the word, yet they continue to hold to teachings by J. Smith, Mohammed, E.G.White, J. Calvin, the Watchtower, or whatever A MAN comes up with !

And I Will Profess Unto Them, I Never Knew...Who, Exactly?

Some people say that God accepts all religions, but that’s not what Jesus taught us. He said at Matthew 7: 21-23 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but only the one doing the will of my Father.” So it is necessary for us to learn what the will of God is and then to do it. This is a serious matter because Jesus compared people who do not obey God to criminals, “workers of lawlessness.”

Jesus warned us that when we want to do the will of God, we will face challenges. He said: “Go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it.” (Matthew 7:13, 14) The cramped road, or the right way to worship God, leads to everlasting life. The spacious road, or the wrong way to worship God, leads to death. But YHWH God (Jehovah) does not want anyone to die. He gives everyone the opportunity to learn about him.(2 Peter 3:9)

Jesus said that we can identify those who worship God in the right way. We can do this by examining what they believe and what they do. He said: “By their fruits you will recognize them.” And he added: “Every good tree produces fine fruit.” (Matthew 7:16, 17) This doesn’t mean that those who worship God are perfect. But God’s servants always try to do what is right. So what will help us to identify those who worship God the right way?

The Bible says: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17) The apostle Paul wrote to Christians: “When you received God’s word, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but, just as it truthfully is, as the word of God.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13) True worship is based only on God’s Word, the Bible. It is not based on human ideas, traditions, or anything else.

Everything Jesus taught was based on God’s Word. (John 17:17.) He often quoted the Scriptures. (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10) True servants of God follow Jesus’ example and base everything they teach on the Bible.

Psalm 83:18 tells us we should worship only the true God YHWH (Jehovah) when it says : “You, whose name is YHWH (Jehovah), you alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Jesus wants people to know exactly who the true God is, and he taught people God’s name. (John 17:6.) Jesus said: “It is YHWH (Jehovah) your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Matthew 4:10) So, as God’s servants, we should follow Jesus’ example. We should worship the
only true God who's name is YHWH (Jehovah), we should use his name, and we should teach others God’s name and what he will do for us.

Jesus taught his disciples to love one another. (John 13:35.) It doesn’t matter where we’re from, what our culture is, or whether we are rich or poor. Our love for one another should unite us as brothers and sisters. (Colossians 3:14) So true servants of the true God YHWH (Jehovah) do not go to war and kill people. The Bible says: “The children of God and the children of the Devil are evident by this fact: Whoever does not practice righteousness does not originate with God, nor does the one who does not love his brother.” And it adds: “We should love one another; not like Cain, who originated with the wicked one and slaughtered his brother.” (1 John 3:10-12; 4:20, 21)

We should use our time, energy, and material things to help and encourage one another. (Hebrews 10:24, 25) We should “work what is good toward all.”(Galatians 6:10)

We need to obey Jesus because he is the only way to God. The Bible says: “There is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.” (Acts 4:12) In Chapter 5 of this book, we learned that YHWH God (Jehovah) sent Jesus to give his life as a ransom for obedient humans. (Matthew 20:28) YHWH God (Jehovah) has chosen Jesus to rule as King over the earth. That is why the Bible tells us that we must obey Jesus if we want to live forever.(John 3:36)

Jesus didn’t participate in politics. When he was on trial, he told the Roman ruler Pilate: “My Kingdom is no part of this world.” (John 18:36.) Like Jesus, his disciples are loyal to God’s heavenly Kingdom, and for this reason, no matter where we live, we do not get involved in politics. However, the Bible commands us to obey “the superior authorities,” that is, the governments. (Romans 13:1) We obey the laws of the country where we live. Of course, when a law conflicts with God’s laws, we imitate the apostles, who said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men.”(Acts 5:29; Mark 12:17)

True servants of the true God YHWH (Jehovah) and the true disciples of Jesus Christ should believe that God's Kingdom is the only solution for the world's problems. Jesus said that the “good news of the Kingdom” would be preached all over the world. (Matthew 24:14.) No human government can do what God’s Kingdom will do for us. (Psalm 146:3) Jesus taught us to pray for God’s Kingdom when he said: “Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.” (Matthew 6:10) The Bible tells us that God’s Kingdom will destroy all human governments and that “it alone will stand forever.”(Daniel 2:44)

So I bthink people should ask themselves, who base their teachings on the Bible? Who tell others about God’s name? Who show genuine love toward one another and believe that God sent Jesus to save us? Who do not get involved in politics? Who preach that only God’s Kingdom can solve our problems?’ It is only YHWH Witnesses (Jehovah’s Witnesses).[Isaiah 43:10-12]

So Barney, all the above sounds excellent until you get to the very last line.

Who do we serve ?
Is it truly God?
Or is it a man made religion?

As you've stated above we must live by the word of God but it is as the Spirit leads us through the word, not what man stipulates in their religious man-made organizations and not man's doctrine!

Truly we must find and live in the will of God in obedience of HIS WORD, not Kingdom Hall, nor WatchTower, nor Book of Mormons, ect, ect .The only men that we are to deem worthy of following their words are the Apostles and Holy Ghost inspired men of God who penned his word.

I do not quibble over which translation is correct. I have compared side by side other translations with the KJB and they take away from the TRUTH. Changing the virgin birth of Christ and leaving out many important DOCTRINES OF GOD.
It is MY CHOICE of the word.

SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT, FREELY ACCEPTED THROUGH CHRIST, BY GOD in our belief of his truth.

It's precepts are written to be understood by spiritual ppl.
If you are following what a sect tells you is what God says then.................have you verified it in context comparing spiritual with spiritual ?

We are all flesh and full of fallacies, some of them are from our perspective, some of them other men's perspective. WE HOWEVER, MUST LIVE BY GODS COMMANDMENTS THAT KEEP US IN HIS WILL !

It is every individuals responsibility to KNOW WHAT THUS SAYS THE WORD OF GOD.
There will be ZERO excuses accepted on our behalf for our own failures. We will not be able to say it was what I was taught, my pastor, teacher, deacon, bishop, or priest said this was the way. Jesus said " I am the way, the truth and the life"; that is what and who will judge us.

The scriptures plainly state, at least twice, that the Holy people will be on their last legs, without power when the Lord returns to end the rebellion of man.

"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Then I, Daniel, looked; and there stood two others, one on this riverbank and the other on that riverbank. And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?
Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished."
Daniel 12:4-7

"So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
Revelation 13:4-8

Some churches teach Masonic utopianism rather than scripture.
