From Luke 10:
17 "Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Verse #9 says (towards the seventy): " And heal the sick there,..."

Again, it seems that rejoicing in Salvation and the preaching of the Kingdom of God is preferable to rejoicing in the power to heal and power over the enemy.

Yes, love Eph 2..but my fav is all of Colossians ...I read it regularly.

My old dad loved the Psalms. The night he died he had his bible..he had oxygen and could hardly breath, his lungs were filling up. Yet he sat there , propped up in bed, reading Psalm 86 out loud ..struggling to breath.
He always read the bible out loud. I stood outside his bedroom listening and full of emotion. Bless his heart, he died a few hours later.
I kissed him on the top of his head..and danced around his bedroom waving my arms , declaring over and over..- "Dad you did it, you are HOME, you have walked through the valley of the shadow of death...Praise God! "
I waited an hour , then called the funeral home.
Ps 116 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."

Great testimony!

Love Colossians too. Eph 1 and 2 are real special, but my favorites are Romans 4 through 8. It really is tough to pick out favorites. I also spent a large amount of time in II Peter. Great stuff.

I love Hebrews.. but then again, when I want exciting history, I love both books of Kings . Your are Soooo right....impossible to pick a favorited .....whatever I am reading 'at that time'....is my favourite !! :D

No you are misquoting healing here. Jesus never said healing you added that in by mistake. Its really important to correct this now. He said

20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
No mention of healing. all it means is demons are so far below you and Christ

Romans 4-8 is set up by Romans 1-3. 4-8 doesn't have the same impact without it.

Romans 9-16 tells us many things like what to do with the gift.

Hebrews also is a great book. 9 -12 are my favorites, but again, the set up is important as is the conclusion. Maybe you can look at proverbs and psalms as being individual lessons... But rarely with other books.

I like the history aspect too! I enjoy I and II Samuel... But thats just me.

So lovely ! Yeah there is something special to speaking His words out loud and hearing them back in our ears. Wise dad, resting now in the arms of our Beloved.

Luke 13: 10-17.
A woman had a "spirit of infirmity 18 years". Jesus healed her on the Sabbath. She "glorified God". The ruler of the Synagogue objected. Jesus called him a hypocrite. Jesus says the woman, "whom satan has bound" has been "loosed from this bond".

Observation: Jesus equates the woman's physical disability with being "bound by satan"; but since she also "glorified God" after being healed, she was healed spiritually. And the manifestation of spiritual healing (glorifying God) far outweighs the physical healing.

Not a part more of a Who I am in Christ. And what I am worth to God. I am the pearl of great price. We think its Him He says it us. This only goes for you if you believe it obviously :)

I believe Him.

Luke 16:27-31.The rich man talking to Abraham:

27. “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him (Lazarus) to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’”

Healings, miracles, being raised from the dead, visions of Jesus, will not change a person's heart to repent. "Moses and the prophets" (the Word of God) will.

Luke 17:11-19.

11. "Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14. So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

15. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16. and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

17. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18. Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19. And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

So, it seems as if the Samaritan was not only healed, but also had saving faith. The other nine were only healed of leprosy.
Spiritual healing is more important than physical healing.

well the healing though an act of God's Mercy, did bring attention to the fact of Jesus the Salvation and the Kingdom of God. remember Jesus started His work with preaching "repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand".

the 70 is also an interesting number considering

Exo 1:5 And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.

and Moses brought 70 elders to a place at the mountain where

of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.

Exo 24:9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: 10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. 11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

also

when it comes to the ministry of Christ, what is interesting is actually in the book of Enoch. I know its not considered accurate scripture by many but its my understanding it is maintained in the Ethiopian bible. any ways one can read it online (not sure if its Ethiopian or not) in chapter 40 he sees four top angels that he is told their jobs so to speech and what they do at the throne.

so even then what is understood is Mercy, Healing acceptance of Repentance and the keeping away the accuser of God's People. and these things did Jesus do to the letter.

His chasing away the accusers of the adulterous woman is a good example of keeping away the accuser, He preached repentance, Mercy and healing to the faithful. executing God's Judgement in the earth which is the duty man and the right of the Son of man.

Who said that you or God?

Where did this guys saving faith come from, "Moses and the prophets" (the Word of God)?

So, it seems as if the Samaritan was not only healed, but also had saving faith. The other nine were only healed of leprosy.

Luke 24:36-43.
36. " Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37. But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38. And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39. Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.” (emphasis mine)

Because Scripture gives so many warnings of false Christs, an even though some would use this verse to prove they have had personal encounters with the Lord Jesus (flesh and bone in front of them), I would hope this does not happen to me. I reject anyone who says "I Am", or that they are Jesus. I won't worship that person.
