The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

So Elijah just hovered in the physical sky forever? No, he ascended just as Jesus later would, only Elijah needed a chariot of fire, because he was a rock star prophet.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

Not hell, in the sense of some one already being in hell and plucked out. Joshua was never in hell. In Amos 4:11 Jerusalem is a wooden firebrand, a people punished but never entirely consumed by their punishment. They are rescued and spared by Yahveh Himself. We are all brands plucked from the...

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

Did you cut it out of your Bible then?

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

"they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind."

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

I just did. Acts 1:9-12 Jesus ascended to heaven. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Did killing make him disqualified for being that man?

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

All this is a beautiful illustration of God's grace, but what does it have to do with people who are already in hell?

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

Jesus ascended into heaven and before that Elijah did also. To be apart from the body for a believer is to be with God. Now you can misunderstand one verse or listen to many verses that clarify the question. The emphasis in that verse was on Jesus having the authority to teach on eternal life...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

It's simple firming up his resolve, so that God could show his power and the pitifulness of the Egyptian gods. It was for evangelizing, for redemption as God's plans always are.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

All this tells me is that God allowed this Pharaoh to become the ruler for God's reasons. You need to study the difference between allowing and causing or ordaining.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

I probably could have phrased it better.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

What mistake? Creating the world? What if this is truly the best of all possible worlds where free will exists? Would it not be better to create it and be loved by some then to not create at all?

    Saved Or Predestined ???

I'm not a calvinist. For the record, I was agreeing with you.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

This is the truth. It will be hidden at first or called a mystery, until they reel you in.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Apparently. But IMO, some people are already self hardened beyond redemption. God will use evil bad people to bring good results at times.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

He wasn't evil because of God. He was evil, so God used that. If he'd been willing to follow God, that would have been what God used. God can't author any evil.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Again, it says nothing about some being Destined for one or another...we all understand that the wicked choose to remain in thier ways, that's basic biblical theology. " Choose you this day whom you will serve." What you are taking from the parables isn't thier point.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Paul was a murderer before his conversion. David killed lots of people. Was David not saved? He sure seemed to have a relationship with God.
