    Saved Or Predestined ???

How would that work? If God only created people who he knew would choose him, would they really have another choice?
  2. R

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Knowing doesn't equal predestination. The people who he knows will choose hell go there not because he chose it for them, but because they reject him.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Why would that matter if you were predestined for hell?
  4. R

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Lol, are you made for hell fire then? How would you even know? The assertion that “He has made the wicked for the day of evil,” does not mean that He created any one for punishment—i.e., predestined him for destruction. It only teaches that even the wicked are subservient to God’s eternal...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Sure God knew what kind of man pharaoh would be, and played his cards accordingly. Just think what God could have done with a soft hearted pharaoh.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Pharaoh hardened his own heart first. Exodus 9:12 is the first time that the Torah tells us that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart, but we see evidence of Pharaoh impacting his own heart five times earlier in this portion. Twice (Exodus 7:13 and Exodus 22) in response to Moses’ challenges and...

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

What does that have to do with anything?

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

What does this have to do with the rich man? You asked if he was granted his request. He wasn't.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

You do understand that this isn't saying some are born tares and some are born wheat, correct? It is " like" a field but it's not literally a field. God sows his true followers in the church and the devil sows false religious people. It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether some are destined...

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

No at all. The Lazarus that Jesus raised was not a beggar. He didn't live on the street. He lived in a house with his two sisters. All this is clearly explained in scripture.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Sure, they are sown by Jesus at the time of thier conversion. We are sown with sin as soon as we are old enough to consciously sin.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

    Different Lazareth.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

It is if the only real choice available is the one God already made for you. You keep saying goats can't become sheep, but God converts goats into sheep ever time they accept his sacrifice for them. If one is born a sheep, there's no Free Will involved in the process. There's only the illusion...

    Saved Or Predestined ???

Everyone is a tare unless they accept Christ. You have to believe that to become a Christian. We are all sown by the devil because he's the prince of this world and has his hooks in every person old enough to sin knowingly. Unless we have been reborn, we are all tares.

    Saved Or Predestined ???

So, no reason that can be known equals arbitrary, especially since you can't say it's from any merit in the person and be consistent with individual election.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

Unless they are Jesus, or Jesus makes an exception, like preaching to the old testament people in Hades. But it says there's a gulf that can normally not be crossed.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

"for I have five brothers." His brothers were his brothers. Seems pretty obvious.

The rich man and the beggar at his gate?

IMO he did. I know there's only scant scripture affirming this. It's not something I'd be dogmatic about.
